Wendy was thrown out of WongRiver Pavilion. She wanted to walk back to the mansion on her own, but the two bodyguards at the gate stopped her. Wendy felt wronged, but she knew that she could not cause a scene when the old master was still there. She did not want to lose her composure as Bentson’s Number One Enchantress.
She was embarrassed and ashamed when Liam threw her out at the gate! She discreetly whined when the old madam did not stop Liam. That was too much! She would deal with that old lady, sooner or later!
The courtyard quieted after Wendy’s sudden departure. Emily did not understand why Wendy had changed so much. She would typically keep her control, especially in front of a crowd. She would always behave like a composed rich young miss in front of everyone, so why did she act so foolishly? Or was it because she felt proud and acted rashly because of her elevated status? Was it because of the old madam?
Hunter got out of the car. Emily supported him, in case he would get dizzy again.
Hunter put an arm around Emily’s shoulder and leaned on her to walk. It looked like the rumor that Eldest Young Master Jackson disliked women did not apply to the young madam. Those who spread the buzz about how the two of them were in disagreement and were only together to please the elders had finally gotten the cold hard truth slammed onto their faces. If the couple did not have a harmonious relationship, one should wonder what a good relationship would look like. Must they be doing unspeakable things in the car? Furthermore, the warmth between the two was far better than any pair of passionate lovers.
“Grandfather, Grandmother, why are you here?”
Hunter looked at the two elders; his voice was cold and indifferent as usual.
Emily greeted them softly, “Old Master, Grandmother.”
The old madam’s gaze fell onto Hunter’s forehead. The wound was patched and neatly wrapped under a piece of gauze, so she could not see how bad the cut was. The old madam’s heart ached when she saw the bandage.
“Are you badly hurt? I saw it on the news when that brick hit your forehead. I did not know anything at all; none of you cared to mention it to me.”
She was upset that she found out what had happened on the news. Would they keep it from her had she not seen the news?
“I’m okay. I only had two stitches. I will be fine soon.”
Emily did not want the old madam to be worried, so she softly said, “He really is fine. All he needs is two days of rest.”
“No one told you because we did not want you to be worried. He is fine, really.”
She looked at Hunter and winked at him. “Isn’t that right? See, he looks great!”
“Hmm!” Hunter nodded obediently. “Grandmother, I’m fine.”
They look so adorable together.
“Emily, you must make sure that he takes his medicine. He has always been reluctant to take any medicine since he was a kid.”
The old madam was careful about such things. She knew that one would have to take medications when one was hurt. Then she realized that she had missed something.
“Why did you come back today? Have you had any anti-inflammatory injections?”
“Yes,” Emily immediately answered for him.
The old master grunted. He knew that Emily wanted to reassure the old madam, but how could she blatantly lie like that? He had never liked liars. Emily did not know why the old master was dissatisfied with her, but she knew that he disliked her. However, she did not take it to heart. To reassure the old madam, Emily grabbed Hunter’s wrist and showed her the needle wound.
“Grandmother, look, he really did take the injection and the drip. I wasn’t lying. He’s fine.”
There was a needle mark on the back of Eldest Young Master Jackson’s hand! Not only did the old madam look dumbfounded, but even the old master and Butler Qin were also wide-eyed in shock. Hunter looked like he was lost. When did he pull a long face? Emily could see through his thoughts with a single glance, and she almost rolled her eyes.
“Are you trying to scare people with such an ugly expression? Can you smile at us instead?”
Oh no! Had the young madam gone overboard? She even asked the eldest young master to smile!
Everyone was a little uneasy. It had seemed like a willful act! They were not sure if the eldest young master would be angry…
Hunter’s face was indeed a little dark, but he did not look as if he would explode. However, that was his usual look, even when he was angry. No one knew what was in his mind.
Emily noticed that he still had the same expression on his face, so she tugged the corner of his clothes again. “Don’t scare Grandmother.”

So fierce! So domineering! So fearless, too! Hunter stared at the woman in his arms as his gaze darkened. Everyone held their breath. A storm was about to happen, and it was a sign that the young master would soon throw a tantrum!
