“The Eldest Young Master Jackson met Terry for other reasons but this time, he came for you, Young Madam.” Liam smiled politely at Emily. “The Eldest Young Master Jackson did not even finish his lunch, he chucked his chopstick and came right away.”
Liam shot a look at Hunter. Seeing that Hunter had gone far, Liam went closer to Emily and whispered to her ear, “I have been around with the Eldest Young Master Jackson for many years but this is the first time I see him so anxious. He did this all for you, Young Madam.” “So, Young Madam, please understand that he cares a lot for you. Please don’t argue with him later when you are back at home.”
It was true that the Eldest Young Master Jackson was extra patient and had a good temper in front of Emily. She really had no idea what were the consequences when the other people made the Eldest Young Master Jackson mad. She… was indeed the special and lucky one.
“I’m going, little one.” Liam looked over at the Sally that was still hiding behind Emily, a grin formed on his face.
Shock rattled through Sally and her body shook uncontrollably. She immediately shrunk behind Emily with her head hanging down. She let out a breath when Liam caught up with Hunter and the lift door shut behind them.
“You both…” Emily studied Sally’s face.
“There is nothing between us. Emily, please don’t misunderstand.” Sally denied it at once.
“Did I say that there was something between you two?” Blood rushed to Sally’s face. Seeing her in that anxious state, it was hard to believe that nothing happened. Sally bit her lips and remained silent.
There was nothing actually. Just that Liam, that bastard groped her and they both appeared… in that awkward position before Emily and the Eldest Young Master Jackson… Oh God, even she herself thought it was hard to clear her name!
“Did you and him really…” When they arrived at the ground level, Emily shot another funny look at Sally.
Sally glowered at her. “No! I told you no! Don’t ever bring this up again!”
She vowed not to see that guy called Liam again. Could they just put the matter to rest?
“But your face is so red, I’m sure Joe and Terry would ask you later.”
“I… I was so worried about you. I panicked running crazily around and I’m still catching my breath. That’s why my face is still red.”
Sally was nervous, she held onto Emily’s arm and swung it lightly while she pleaded, “My dear Emily, can you stop talking about this? Don’t bring it up in front of Joe and Terry too.”
What an unlucky day!
Seeing Sally flushed deep red and panicking, Emily kept her cheeky look and nodded. “Ok, I won’t say anymore.”
Sally felt a sense of relief until she heard Emily saying, “Then again, Liam is really not bad. He is handsome and rich…”
Would the special assistant to the Eldest Young Master Jackson be poor?
“Emily!”
“Alright, alright, I’ll stop now.” Sigh, not even a joke?”But, you really should consider him.”
“Gu…”
“We’re here. Are you gonna say some more?” Emily teased.
Sally had no choice but to zip up immediately because they had arrived at the boy’s room. When Joe realized that Emily was with the Eldest Young Master Jackson just now, he made a turn back into his room.
Joe began the task of tidying up the messy room when they walked in. The disarray state of the room struck them in awe.
“They did this?” They flipped through Joe and Terry’s luggage, their clothes were strewn all over the floor! That was totally unnecessary! Real unreasonable!
“They will learn their lesson, don’t worry.” Terry looked at Emily, concerned. “Are you alright?”
He knew that Emily would be alright with the Eldest Young Master Jackson. He had faith in the capability of that man.
“This is too much! These clothes are all dirty.” Joe gave up sorting the mess after a while.
He piled the clothes up on the chair, thinking of getting them washed up later before packing up.
“What did we do now?”
Sally exclaimed after browsing her phone, “Amy got exonerated!”
As for them, they were accused of being a floozy that went to hotels with boys! Though there were no photos as a shred of evidence that Emily was spotted in a hotel fooling around with another man, many said on the internet that they saw with their own eyes that she was seen entering the hotel with another man.
Amy had a good reputation and was also known as a beautiful lady. Them, on the other hand, being on the opposition side to Amy were portrayed as the antagonist in the gossip.
The whole issue was a brutal farce of public opinion. The cyberbullying was insufferably nasty though no clear evidence was presented on their wrongdoings. What made the matter worse was that they even accused the powerful man behind Emily of misusing his power to oppress the students.
None of the people were willing to admit that the man behind Emily was the Eldest Young Master Jackson. Of course, who would approve of the ugly Emily in a relationship with the attractive Eldest Young Master Jackson? They would rather imagine the man to be an addle-pated twit than accepting the fact.
“What nonsense!” But indeed, it was that damn nonsense that had affected Emily’s life at school.
“Don’t these people know who exactly Amy is?” Sally scowled as she scrolled through the comments online. “She was the one that had a reputation of promiscuity. These people were blinded by lies and could not discern the truth!”
Terry threw Emily a weird look.
Sensing that something was not right with him, Sally asked, “Terry, do you have anything to say?”
Terry hesitated for a while before saying, “Those people last night were related to Amy.”
…
Emily was not sure what else would happen if she returned to the hostel so she went to Hunter’s mansion instead. Coincidently, something came up in the branch office and Hunter had left Bentson for a business trip.
Back at the mansion, Emily was relieved that she did not have to face Hunter. Yet, she could not help but feel lonely looking at the huge hall. There were many servants and bodyguards around but those people did not interact much with her.
After a shower, she lay on her bed staring blankly at the curtains that blew in the wind, she felt emotional. Liam’s words were swimming in her head. He told her that after being the assistant to the Eldest Young Master Jackson for years, he had never seen the Eldest Young Master Jackson so anxious. It was all for her. He also told her that the Eldest Young Master actually cared for her very much…
She spent five years living together with the Eldest Young Master Jackson in her previous life but she had never felt a touch of warmth in their relationship. She was sure that he hated her very much and kept his distance from her. Care for her? She must be dreaming!
Why did the Eldest Young Master Jackson change so much in this life? She could no longer figure him out. She lay there, with the thought swirled around in her head, she found herself sleepless.
The next morning, not only that she had her usual freckled face, she too had two big dark circles around her eyes. She looked even more hideous than before.
When Emily arrived, Sally had been waiting for her at their usual meet up point. Then, they walked into the school together. As soon as they set foot into the school compound, they noticed the repulsive looks from their surrounding.
The only good thing was that those people only stared at them both with glaring hate and did not do anything else. Perhaps the consequence suffered by the thirty students a day ago was still fresh in their minds.
Coincidentally, there was a student exchange program between the Jiang University and Ning University and Amy was one of the exchange students from the Jiang University. Those two enemies were bound to meet up. What a narrow path!
