Chapter 77 He Would Be Angry If She Stayed

Book:My Most Precious Wife Published:2024-5-1

He had misunderstood the situation.
Emily said plainly. “No, I just think that he’s… He looked familiar.”
“How familiar?” When the man stood up aggrievedly, he looked exactly like an unreasonable child!
“I recognized him wrongly, alright? I won’t do it again, okay?”
Emily knew that he had too much to drink, but she was a bit unaccustomed to the childishness that appeared after he drank too much.
“I’ll help you to go back and rest. The wind is strong here, and you might catch a cold.”
He kept quiet. Emily attempted to help him, and surprisingly, Hunter did not reject her aid.
It took her some effort, but she finally managed to get him up.
However, Eldest Young Master Jackson’s height shocked her!
She knew that he was nearly 1. 9 meters tall, and she was always mesmerized by his perfectly-proportioned body whenever she looked at him from afar.
It was only when she got closer that she realized how she dwarfed in comparison to him.
When she stood next to him, she was only about as tall as his shoulders. No wonder she would always tire her neck whenever she spoke with him. He was ridiculously tall!
Why did he have to be so heavy too?
Emily’s knees wobbled when she had to support half of his weight. She almost fell over and rolled on the ground with him.
“Eldest Young Master Jackson, can you… Can you stand up by yourself?”
She had to bear almost all of his weight, and she even struggled to say a few words. Emily bit her lip as she tried to maintain her balance.
When she could finally stand straight, she could not even move forward.
“Eldest Young Master Jackson…”
He did not respond. Instead, his body pressed down on her again.
If it were not for the strong liquor, Emily might think that he did it on purpose.
He was so heavy that she could not breathe.
“Liam, Liam!”
Liam was nearby, and he quickly rushed toward them when he heard Emily called for him.
“Young Madam, what can I do for you?”
“Are you seriously asking me that? I can’t hold it any longer!” Emily was on the verge of cursing at him. Did he not see that she struggled to hold him up and would fall anytime soon?
Liam was a little hesitant, but after two seconds of procrastination, he finally went toward them.
“Eldest Young Master, let me help you.”
The young master did not say anything. Perhaps that signified a tacit approval?
Young Madam might be oblivious, but since Liam had served Eldest Young Master for so long, it was quite illogical for him to be clueless about Eldest Young Master’s habits.
Eldest Young Master would not need anyone to help him up!
However, if Young Madam could help him, then there should be no problem for Liam to help him too.
Liam breathed a sigh of relief and went to Hunter’s side. He was ready to hold the young master by the arm.
As soon as his long fingers touched Hunter’s arm, the man-whose eyes were half-closed-sent a kick into Liam’s direction.
“Oof…”
With a loud thud, Liam’s body hit against the stone pillar in front of him.
If it were not for the quick reflexes that commanded him to block his face just before the impact, his head would probably bleed.
Liam felt that it was unjust.
He knew it! The young master never liked to be touched!
Emily was also stunned. She knew Eldest Young Master Jackson did not like any woman to touch him, but she did not realize that he loathed a man’s touch that much too.
Any ordinary person would not be allowed to touch his body.
However, why did he not kick her when she helped him up earlier?
If he had kicked her as he had kicked at Liam…
Emily trembled. If he had kicked her, she would have fallen onto the ground, and she might not be able to get up again.
Her abilities paled in contrast to Liam’s.
“Eldest Young Master Jackson… Don’t hit me. Else I’ll leave you here on the ground.”
Some things must be made clear beforehand. If she were to get injured, Eldest Young Master Jackson might not be willing to reimburse her medical expenses.
Hunter kept quiet. He was a complete enigma-if he did not want to speak, no amount of coaxing could persuade him into talking.
He did not push Emily away, though. On the contrary, he leaned his head and plopped himself onto her at once.
Emily’s breathing labored. She suddenly felt as though she was pressed against a mountain. The weight was so heavy that she felt as though she would faint.
“Liam…” She breathed forcefully because she realized that she could not inhale if she did not breathe with effort.
Liam stood nearby in case she could not take it and collapsed.
As for his help with Eldest Young Master Jackson, he sympathized with her, but his hands were tied.
“Young Madam, WongRiver Pavilion is not too far from here. Young Madam, maybe you can… Try…”
“You… Get lost!” Emily gritted her teeth as she tried to stand still.
She panted and took a step forward, but it was an uphill battle.
“Eldest Young Master Jackson… Can you help me out a bit by taking a few steps forward?”
He did look a little drunk earlier that night, but it seemed as though he reached a point where he could not even walk.
If she had not known Hunter well, she might suspect that he had tried to pull a fast one on her.
“Why don’t I have someone send the buggy here?” It took Liam a long while before he thought to ask for some help.
Emily still bit her lip and continued to move forward as best as she could.
After Liam made the phone call, he immediately followed behind them. He was afraid that the young master might trip and fall. Liam would definitely get an earful when the young master sobered up the next day!
The buggy had reached the gazebo, and Emily had exhausted her effort when she finally got him into the cart.
Then the buggy brought them directly to the entrance of the WongRiver Pavilion.
Hunter seemed to be more pliant at that point. With Emily’s help, he took slow steps into the hall.
Liam immediately ordered the maids to clean a first-floor guest room for them.
It was too troublesome to head up to the second floor while Eldest Young Master was in that state.
“How did he get out to the gazebo?” Finally, they laid Hunter on the bed. Emily had to gasp for air before she had the opportunity to ask questions.
“Eldest Young Master drank too much tonight. When he walked out of the banquet hall, he was so exhausted that he originally planned to return to WongRiver Pavilion while he was still sober.”
That was the thing about wine. One should find a comfortable place to settle down and rest once one felt the rush of the alcohol in their head.
One might discover the terrifying effects on alcohol soon after that. It would render one useless in a mere blink of an eye.
“I didn’t expect that Eldest Young Master Jackson would see you once he came out of the hall.”
“He knows that he gets drunk very easily. Why did he follow me then?”
Emily did not understand. Would it not be easier for Liam to call her if Eldest Young Master Jackson wanted to see her?
“I think Eldest Young Master Jackson is the only person who can answer that question.”
Liam scratched his head. When did he have the authority to question Eldest Young Master Jackson’s actions?
Emily sighed with relief, but she felt rather helpless too. “Forget it then. You can take care of him.”
She took off Hunter’s shoes and then stood up.
“Young Madam, you can’t leave!” Liam panicked.
She wanted him to take care of the young master?
If the young master punched him out of grief, how could Liam continue to live?
“He won’t like it if I stayed.” It was not as though she never tried that before in her past life.
She had tried to take care of Eldest Young Master Jackson when he got drunk, but he threw her out immediately. For the next three months after that, she was not even allowed to take half a step into her room.
That alone showed about how much Eldest Young Master Jackson had hated her!
