Chapter 29

“Impossible! Robin, never think about it!” Carl Shaw was about to refuse, but Marcy Brown took first. The Spring Hill project was their money tree, so how could he share it with others.
“Is that how you apologize?” Robin naturally knew that they wouldn’t give him the project. What he intended was just to tease Marcy.
“Robin, I can apologize, but you should know that this project belongs to us. We can compensate for June in other aspects.” Carl said in a deep voice.
“Other aspects? For example? Let June return to the company?” Robin sneered.
Carl’s face was terrible. He could feel the sarcasm in Robin’s voice, but he had to force him to ignore it. “More than that, we can not only allow June to return to the company but also give her the building in the east. Besides, we’ll give her a five percent share of the Spring Hill project.”
Carl looked at Robin. This was his final concession, which he thought was advantageous enough to move Robin and June.
But Robin seemed to have no interest.
“A five percent share? Uncle, you’re so generous.” Robin mocked.
“Robin Zhou, don’t be greedy! A five percent share was enough for you to live a quite wealthy life!” Carl frowned. He knew well about Robin’s living situation, delivering food in rains and winds, a salary of less than 6 or 7 thousand yuan, but a five percents share would bring to him almost ten million yuan a year! To exaggerate, Robin couldn’t make so much money as a delivery man for all his life.
“Well, uncle, you can go back and tell Marcus Brown, June won’t return to the company unless he can come here to apologize to June himself and let June handle the Spring Hill project. Otherwise, there will be no way to talk about this matter.” Though Robin said calmly, the word shocked Carl and Marcy much.
Did Robin say that he needed Marcus to come here to apologize and let June take the project?
Was Robin’s brain full of bullshits?
Even June Brown and Lareina were shocked by that. It seemed that Robin was too fanciful!
“You seem to have no sincerity. Do you know what consequence will be if June’s grandfather apologizes to her?” Carl threatened.
“Consequence? I really want to see what consequence it will be.” Robin didn’t care about it at all. Just a Brown’s Family, if he wanted, he could easily destroy it at will.
“Good! Good! Good! I hope you can still speak so hard when trouble comes to you!” Carl was so furious. He didn’t expect that Robin, the coward as ignoble as an ant, could be so arrogant now.
How wildly arrogant this worm was!
It was no need to talk more. Carl pulled Marcy, who still intended to curse, to leave.
After the two left, Lareina stared at Robin. “What advantage do you rely on? The benefits they offered were perfect. Why didn’t you accept?”
“Mom, I have no advantage. I just want to get some from them for June. They should know that they can’t bully June at their wills.” Robin answered.
“What? How were you so arrogant with no advantage?”
Lareina was enraged. A five percent share was enough to move her. She would definitely have accepted this just now if Robin weren’t so arrogant. Robin’s arrogance made her misunderstand that Robin had some advantages.
In Lareina’s opinion, money was much more important than the face. They would live on air if they still had no income.
“Mom, the manager of that project is Robin’s classmate,” June explained. She had guessed that Robin had asked Cheney Lin to put pressure on Brown’s Family. Obviously, Brown’s Family had met some problems with the project.
“Classmate?” Lareina looked at Robin with disbelief. “What kind of classmate? How can he help you to offend Brown’s Family?”
“Classmate in university, we lived in the same bunk bed, and we’re as closed as one mind in two bodies.” Robin lied without unease.
“That’s not safe.” Lareina worried. “You’d better make sure your classmate is useful. If June couldn’t go back to the company, you should divorce her immediately.”
“Mom, take it easy. My classmate has promised me.” Robin smiled.
“You and your classmate have graduated from the same university, but how can you two have such a big gap, a manager and a delivery man?” Lareina murmured discontentedly. How satisfied she would be if June could marry a man like Cheney Lin.
Robin smiled but didn’t say anything.
The next morning, a piece of surprising news came from Brown’s Family. Marcus Brown, the head of Brown’s Family, June’s grandfather, was going to apologize to June himself!
All members of Brown’s Family were shocked.
In Brown’s Family, Marcus was the god who had never been offended.
June was just a dispensable girl who had always been a joke since she married Robin three years ago.
But today, the god was going to apologize to a joke!
No one could accept this fact. Even Lareina and June felt it unreal.
June looked blank. She hadn’t woken up until Marcus knocked on the door.
This was the first time Marcus came to June’s house. Carl and Marcy followed behind Marcus, as well as Aimee and her father, almost all the influential people in Brown’s Family!
Lareina and June were nervous because of the overwhelming atmosphere those people brought.
Only Robin was calm.
He had expected that Marcus would bow his head.
Maybe in others’ eyes, Marcus was sacred and couldn’t be offended, but in Robin’s eyes, Marcus was just an ordinary old man who would bow his head to compromise when insoluble difficulties came. Marcus had lived for many years, he definitely was not a young man who took dignity much more important than others.
Therefore, in Robin’s opinion, Marcus’s visit was inevitable.
As soon as Marcus entered the house, he kept observing the expressions of the three people inside.
He had expected Lareina and June’s flattering expression.
Then he turned his eyes to Robin. Confident, with a smile on his face, Robin seemed to have no surprise. Marcus felt a thump in his heart, knowing that he had bet Robin wrong. He had lived for such a long life, but this was the first time he bet the wrong horse.
