Chapter 450 Family Of Three

Book:The Reborn Wife Published:2024-5-1

Two years had passed, and a famous writer had emerged in City N. Their new script had won the best screenwriter award that year.
However, the screenwriter never showed up during the award ceremony. No one knew the identity of that writer, and they had never appeared in public as well.
They had produced two dramas in two years. One was quite well-received, and the other had done even better; it had won an award.
However, for two years, the writer had not made an appearance in public. Everyone only knew the person as Hunger, but it was only a pen name. That person would never appear at award shows as well.
The next day, gossip swarmed the industry.
Who was Hunger? Was that person male or female? Young or old? Everyone was curious.
“I’m guessing that he must be a bald old man.”
“No, if he were an old man, he would not miss the opportunity to be famous, even if he were bald.”
“That’s true.” Another person agreed.
“Perhaps a fat lady? Fat and ugly.”
“If she’s fat, then she must be ugly as well. Why must you mention both?”
“Can’t I emphasize it?”
“Maybe he’s crippled…”
The girls in the office gossiped about the mysterious Hunger.
“Alright, it is still office hours. Stop chatting and get back to work.”
The department head carried a stack of documents to the corner desk and set them down on the table.
“Emilia, please sort out these documents. We will need them for the manager’s meeting later.”
“Okay.” The woman at the corner desk nodded as she took the documents and continued to work.
“Look at Emilia; she has never participated in your gossip. The things she can accomplish in a day are comparable to several days of your work!”
“Alright, we get it. Aren’t we working now?”
The few girls laughed and turned to look at the busy Emilia Garcia.
A pair of thick glasses almost blocked her entire face. She also had many freckles on her small oval face; she looked a little ugly. She would have to work harder to compensate for it.
Therefore, no one was jealous or envious of her just because the boss praised her. After all, no one would want to be suspicious of Little Miss Ugly.
“Emilia, do you want to get dinner with us after work?” Someone suddenly suggested.
Another girl hurriedly said, “She is a twenty-four mom, and wants to hurry back to her baby. She doesn’t have the time to spend with you.”
“That’s true. We won’t bring you along then.”
Once the clock struck six, the other girls packed their things and quickly left. One could still hear their gossips as they went.
“Emilia is so ugly, so how did she land such a handsome husband?”
“That’s right. If I were her husband, I would have divorced her a long time ago.”
Emilia pretended she did not hear them.
She finally finished her work at half-past six, and so she packed her things and left.
As she walked out of the company’s main door, a little girl, who looked barely a-year-old, rushed toward her with unsteady steps.
Emilia was scared out of her mind.
“Be careful! Slow down! You scared me! Slow down!”
She rushed over and wrapped the little girl in her arms.
She looked up at the smiling man behind the little girl and nagged, “Why didn’t you watch her carefully? She just learned to walk so recently!”
“She’s been walking for several months now. Is that considered recent?” The man disagreed. “You are too cautious with her. How can a child learn and grow up without falling a few times?”
Emilia glared at him as the little girl broke away from her embrace and ran off in another direction. “Bo… bo..”
She only managed a few steps when her legs gave way, and she fell onto the ground with a plop.
The man had been calmed, and he even smiled as he teased Emilia moments ago. However, he panicked when he saw that little fall. He rushed to the little girl and picked her up as he checked her body for any signs of injuries.
“Sweety, are you alright? Are you hurt? Tell Daddy!”
“Bo… Bo…”
Sweety did not seem bothered by the fall as she tried to reach for the balloons nearby.
“Who was the one that made fun of me just now? Aren’t you more anxious than me?”
Sweety rolled her eyes at the man as he put Sweety down and followed her closely from behind. His face had a bright smile on it.
He was anxious, indeed, but he was a slave to his daughter.
“Bo… Bo…” Sweety was a little over one year old, so she would not understand that she should stick close to her parents. She only wanted those colorful balloons.
The handsome man who trailed behind her attracted countless looks from women everywhere he went.
Who else could it be but Luacs?
He did not think a slave to his daughter was something he did in vain.
“Daddy will get a balloon for you.”
“Don’t simply take stuff. Those are for other people’s events. You can’t take those.”
Sweety quickly ran toward them. The wind blew her fringe that covered her face. The freckle-covered face looked extremely familiar.
Everyone was used to her beautiful face minus all the freckles. Most had forgotten about her unattractive disguise.
If one were to see her then, they would think that she looked familiar.
Luacs, who had trailed after Sweety, suddenly stopped in his tracks and whipped around as if he had noticed something.
The square was crowded with countless people, countless faces, and countless shadows.
The cold feeling that he felt disappeared in an instant.
“Luacs, what’s wrong?” Sweety went to see if there was anything amiss.
However, there was nothing strange behind them. Was everything not the same as usual?
She had had the same feeling before when they had only arrived there. She deduced that it was only her guilty conscience.
After Sweety was born, she focused all her attention on her daughter, and she did not care about anything else anymore.
“It’s nothing.” Luacs lowered his head and hugged her arm gently. “I’m just being careful. Don’t worry about it.”
“Don’t be overly sensitive.”
“Hmm.”
Sweety was Elena, who had kicked up a storm two years ago before she disappeared from the public’s eye. She took Sweety’s tiny hand. “Little one, you can’t play with these. Mommy will buy some for you later.”
“Bobo.” How would Sweety know what she could not play with? She only noticed the pile of balloons that moved toward her.
“Bobo, bobo…” The little girl got even more excited as the balloons moved closer to her. She broke free from Elena’s grip and ran as quickly to the balloons as her tiny legs could carry her.
“Sweety…”
Luacs and Elena went after her. It looked as if the balloons had moved closer to Sweety.
Luacs’s expression changed. He scooped Sweety into his arms as he pulled Elena behind him.
He stared at the heap of balloons with watchful eyes!
