Old Master Garcia waited in the cold wind. Butler Milo checked the time again; it had been three hours.
He was a little anxious. “Old Master, let’s not wait anymore. Let’s go back. Didn’t you say that even if Garcia Corporation was gone, the most important thing is that the family sticks together.”
So, why was he there to beg Michael? All they had to do was to continue the search for Elena. They should let the youngsters handle the affairs in Garcia Corporation. Even if they were to lose it, they could take it as a lesson. Old Master Garcia shook his head; his eyes were fixed on the hotel door.
“Go and talk to them again. Just say that I have something very important to tell Eldest Young Master Williams.”
“Old Master, stop begging that bastard!”
Butler Milo could not stand it. He also knew something about Michael and Elena.
It seemed like Michael did not care about Elena. Why would the old master beg him? It was even more unnecessary if it were for the sake of Garcia Corporation. The old master had lived his life comfortably. It was not fair that he had to beg someone at his old age!
“Milo, why are you so childish?”
Old Master Garcia turned around and glared at him. “Quick, go on and tell them that I have something important to tell Eldest Young Master Williams.”
Butler Milo felt helpless, but he was about to do just that. Suddenly, the elevator door at the lobby opened with a ding. A few figures stepped out, and among them was Eldest Young Master Williams.
“Milo, quick, push me over.” The old master immediately said.
“Alright.” Butler Milo was startled, but he quickly snapped back to his senses. He immediately pushed the wheelchair toward the elevator.
“Eldest Young Master Williams, I have something to tell you. Ten minutes; can you give me ten minutes?”
Old Master Garcia decided to be proactive; he had no choice. If it were not for Elena, he would not do that. After all, it was not worth it for him to be in such a lowly position for Garcia Corporation.
Michael looked at him with curled lips. “Old Master Garcia, that’s too bad. I have something to do, so I have to leave.”
“Only ten minutes. No, five minutes is good enough.”
The old master knew that Michael hated him. If it were not for Elena, he probably would have brought the matter to his grave. However, Elena was the most important person to him. Perhaps, it was time to put an end to the past. He had held onto it for a long time. He felt nervous when he thought of what had happened then.
“Eldest Young Master Williams, I only need five minutes. After that, if it doesn’t change your mind, then I will never bother you again.”
It was a pity that Michael was not willing to listen to him. “If you’re for Garcia Corporation, sorry, I’m not free.” He walked past Old Master Garcia and was about to leave.
“For Elena!” Old Man Garcia turned his wheelchair around and stared at the man’s visibly stunned figure.
That bastard! At least, he was not entirely callous toward Elena.
“I know where Elena is. Would you listen to me?”
“Elena’s matter has nothing to do with me.”
Michael looked like he wanted to refuse his request.
Just when the old master was about to give up, Michael turned around and looked at him. “Five minutes.”
It took them a minute to go to the man’s hotel room. The old master told Butler Milo to wait outside, and Michael waved his hand at Levi. There were only two of them in the room.
“Where is Elena?”
Michael did not look good, and he had no patience for Old Master Garcia. Even though he had never been enthusiastic about his elders, he was always polite to them. However, he was not even courteous toward Old Master Garcia. That old master had killed his grandmother!
“I don’t know.” Old man Garcia did not want to lie to him.
As soon as he uttered those words, Michael’s expression sank, and he roared angrily. “How dare you lie to me!”
“Eldest Young Master Williams, I came here to tell you the truth.”
“The truth! I can find out about that myself. I don’t need you to tell me about it!”
Indeed, his people had investigated the truth. As soon as they found the evidence, they would charge the old master with kidnapping and murder. What truth could he expect from the murderer himself? He would not believe a single statement from him.
“I did not kill your grandmother, nor did I kidnap her. She and I were very good friends.”
The old master sighed. He had never wanted to mention the past, but he had to do it.
“Eldest Young Master Williams, your grandmother did come to me back then…”
“My grandmother did not go to see you; you kidnapped her!” Michael was sure about it!
The old man sighed. “Things were not like what you think. The reason why I have been reluctant to talk about things back then was because…of your grandmother.”
“Bulls*it!”
“Eldest Young Master Williams, I will show you a letter.”
The man would not listen to him, so Old Master Garcia could only show him the letter he had kept for the past decades.
“You may not recognize your grandmother’s handwriting, but your grandfather will know it.”
Even though the letter was well-kept, it looked a bit old. Michael stared at the envelope. He might not be able to identify his grandmother’s handwriting, but it did look somewhat similar.
Some of his grandmother’s handwriting was still in the Old Master Williams’s study, and Michael had seen it. Finally, he took out the letter. His face immediately sank when he took a glance at it.
“Old Master Garcia, you killed my grandmother, and yet you have the cheek to slander her!”
It was a love letter from a woman to a man to confess her feelings. In the letter, the woman said that she was miserable after she married a man she did not love. She also found out that her husband caused a misunderstanding between her and the recipient of the letter.
She married her husband out of rage, but she regretted it when she realized that she had been deceived.
She wanted to return to the man and elope with him. The letter was all about the affection the woman had for the man and how she regretted her actions. She had looked forward to eloping with the man.
“You don’t have to lie to me with a forged letter. Do you think I will believe your lies?”
“If you don’t believe me, you can go and ask your grandfather. Did he frame me when he told your grandmother that I had betrayed her trust? As for your grandmother and me, we were childhood friends, and we had pretty much decided to spend our life together.”
When he spoke of the past, the old master’s heart felt heavy.
“Back then, I had to go out to sea. I told her that we would get married when I return, but when I got back, your grandmother was already married to your grandfather.”
