Sasha was back. All the members of the Garcia family were finally back together again.
“Elena is our family’s granddaughter. This is the report of the test that I personally did for them.”
Joseph put a report on the table. Except for Old Master Garcia, who was still unconscious, everyone else, including the long-serving butler, Milo Doyle, was gathered. No one doubted that Elena was part of their family, so the report was somewhat redundant.
“Anyway, our Garcia family is finally reunited.”
It was a fact that Harley could never make it home, but at least, his daughter was there.
Lottie took Elena’s hand. Her eyes were wet before she could say anything else.
“After living with Ava for so many years, this child must have suffered a lot.”
Everyone could resonate with Lottie’s remark. The atmosphere in the hall was momentarily bleak.
Elena smiled and comforted everyone. “I’m all good. Am I not living a good life now? I can cope even if Ava is bad.”
“However, I am afraid it is not so easy to deal with her this time.”
Sasha felt guilty. She looked at Joseph. “With Dad in a coma, we do not have a chance of winning if we were to sue Ava.”
The old master was still comatose, so the family members had to take over the responsibility to prosecute Ava. When the old master signed the equity transfer agreement, Sasha was present, and she could appear as a witness. However, Sasha was the one who led the old master out to sea, so it would be difficult for her testimony to gain the public’s trust. The lawsuit might still have a long way to go before the old master regained his consciousness.
“Don’t worry. We can apply to freeze the shares so that Ava can not trade them freely.”
They were afraid that Ava would sell her shares. Garcia Corporation would likely change its owner if an unscrupulous person were to buy most of the shares.
“Now that Ava has so many shares and has support from several major shareholders in the company, the Garcia Corporation has fallen into her hands.”
Even though Francis did not work in Garcia Corporation, he had three percent shares. He should be summoned to attend the shareholders’ meeting. He was kept in the dark about the meeting because Ava clearly wanted to overrule all Garcia family members.
“Now that we are suing Ava, she would probably not do much at this time.”
Joseph always managed to comfort the Garcia family.
“I will contact other shareholders discreetly. Don’t worry, leave this matter to me.”
He looked at Sasha and Lottie. “Both of you still have positions and responsibilities within the company. Don’t act so rashly at the moment, go back to the company and do your part first.”
“If we go back now, don’t we have to do things as per Ava’s wishes and commands?”
How could Sasha be willing to work under Ava after she knew that she was not part of their family? Lottie sighed, glanced at his son, and nodded. “I know, I won’t act on impulse.”
“Eldest Sister…”
“The company is now in Ava’s hands, and Joseph is already removed from his position as the CEO, so we can’t make any more mistakes.”
If they were to do something wrong, Ava would have the excuse to fire them. If that were to happen, then none of the Garcia family members would still be in Garcia Corporation.
“Sasha, it is not the time to be impulsive now. You have to learn to suck it up.”
Lottie knew that her sister was a good person, but she lacked patience. She was easily irritable, and sometimes she could get anxious over small things. It was an excellent opportunity for her to practice self-restraint.
“Promise me, don’t provoke Ava or create trouble until Joseph finds a better way out.” Lottie stared at her sister solemnly. “You must not let Ava pick at your faults, alright?”
When she saw the harsh gaze from her eldest sister, Sasha could nod in agreement.
“I know. I won’t let Ava get a chance to do that!”
“Now, that’s my good sister, our Second Young Miss Garcia!”
Lottie smiled faintly and was relieved when she heard her sister’s promise.
Joseph looked at everyone and said with a smile. “The most important thing right now is that we are all together.”
“As long as the family stays together, there’s nothing we cannot overcome.”
A complete family was far more important than anything else! Joseph’s words made Elena ponder the entire night. It rang in her ear over and over again. A complete family! The Garcia family members were back together, but her child’s father…
When she was alone, she could not help but think about those things. Her hand landed on her belly as she imagined her baby in her womb. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she did not even realize that someone had gone into her room.
“Do you still miss him?” Joseph pulled a chair to sit down opposite her. His eyes also fell on her abdomen. There was a little life there, but not many people knew about it yet.
“Brother Joseph, the scandal between you and I…”
“Don’t worry, as long as you don’t go online and watch the news, and you will be fine.”
He was afraid that those ruthless remarks would hurt her had she watched the news. Ava hired cyber troopers to stir hype on the Internet so that it would become sensationalized news! There were still some things that Elena did not know, but Joseph did not want her to know just yet.
“Just stay at home and take good care of your body. Don’t think about anything else.”
“You mean, there is a huge sensation…online?”
Elena could not bear her imminent curiosity. She immediately picked up her phone to look at it. However, Joseph’s gaze quickly calmed her.
“Listen to me, don’t look at it. Don’t ask, and don’t think about it. I will quiet things down.”
He took her hand. “Just look after your body, okay?”
Elena bit her lips and nodded obediently. At such critical times, she could not become Joseph’s burden as she did not want to drag him down. She could only listen to him and take good care of herself. They still had to look after their grandfather! She could only do so if she were in good health.
“Brother Joseph, I know what to do. I won’t burden you; you can rest assured.”
Joseph nodded. “Go to bed early. I will send you to see Grandfather tomorrow.”
“No, you must have a lot of things to do. Just do your own thing.”
Elena followed him to the door. “I’ll be with Milo. He will look after me.”
