Ava did not expect Eldest Young Master Williams would visit her when she was injured.
“I’m fine, just… there was some blood, and my body is a little… a little weak.”
It had been a long time since she last saw him, and she was so excited that she could not even speak coherently. She struggled to sit up, but the movement made her grimaced in pain. She was careless and jolted her wounds. Even though it was not a large wound, it had hurt.
Michael walked to the side of the bed and stared at her blushing face. He had never been good at expressing his feelings, but it was enough to make Ava reminiscent for a long time. She finally sat up to meet his gaze. Her face was flushed, and she got dizzy under his intent stare.
“I’m alright. Michael, are you here… to visit me?”
“Partly.” He was there to visit the old master. However, the old master only had eyes for Elena after he saw her, and they had spent most of the time together. He had been entirely ignored.
“Then…” Ava had a lot to say to him. She wanted to know if he had missed her during their one month apart. However, the ruthless remark that Eldest Young Master had hurled at her when she left WongRiver pavilion was still fresh in her memories. She might be stupid, but she had feelings and could feel pain. She wondered what Michael had felt for her at that time.
“Will you be staying here for some time, Eldest Young Master Williams?” Grace asked with a smile. Her daughter was the Garcia family’s granddaughter. If she were to marry Eldest Young Master Williams, who was also the CEO of Williams Corporation, Ava would be the richest and most powerful lady in City L and perhaps even in Bentson. With Eldest Young Master Williams’s help, it would not be long before the Garcia family’s inheritance fell into Ava’s hands.
Michael did not answer her; he simply nodded. He had acknowledged her! Grace stared at the outstanding and handsome man, a man who attracted ladies of all ages. She blushed deeply. She could not resist his charm even though he was more than ten years younger than her! Michael did not pay much attention to Grace. Instead, he looked at Ava and spoke in a soft tone, which was not something she would typically hear.
“The banquet for this coming Saturday, do you want Old Master Garcia to postpone it?”
“Why? Why would I want to postpone it?” He had spoken to her in a gentle tone. It was nothing like his usual cold and distant tone. Ava felt as if she was intoxicated, and her brain did not function normally.
“You are injured and not feeling well, so there’s no need to force it.”
“No!” Ava shook her head in a hurry.
“It’s my blessing to be able to reunite with my grandfather and aunts. There is no need to postpone the banquet. I’ll be fine.” Ava lifted the quilt and got off the bed to show him her body.
“Michael, I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”
Ava was pleasantly surprised when Eldest Young Master Williams worried about her. When had he bothered to check on her when they had lived together? Ava was flustered. She was so obsessed with that man that she almost forgot that there were people around them.
“Michael, since you are here, let me show you around Garcia’s mansion, okay?”
It had been ages since she had spent time alone with Eldest Young Master Williams, or had a chat with him. There were other people in the room, so they might as well go for a stroll together. Ava’s heart leaped as she stared at the arm that she held on to. She forgot that Michael did not like it when a woman touched him. However, he did not resist her touch that day.
Had he finally acknowledged his feelings for her after she had been away for one month? Otherwise, why would he be worried about her, and why would he allow her to hold his arm? Ava decided that she would not let go of his arm from then onward.
“Michael, I’ll walk with you, okay?”
Michael did not say anything, but Joseph laughed. “The banquet is this Saturday, and it’s only two days away. Eldest Young Master Williams, why don’t you stay here with us and give us the honor to play host?
Michael smiled. “How could I disturb you?”
“No, not at all. We have plenty of rooms here!”
Ava wondered if she was in a dream. Michael was willing to stay there with her? She looked at Grace, and her mother understood that she meant. Without any delay, Grace said, “I will get someone to prepare the room!”
Ava looked at Michael and softly asked, “Is that okay, Michael?”
There seemed to be a glint of a smile on Michael’s eyes, but it was not one that anyone could understand.
He answered lightly, “Okay.”
…
Milo put his phone down and caught up with the two figures ahead of him.
“Old Master, it looks like Elena will stay with us for two days!”
“Really?” Old Master Garcia stared at Elena with a look of surprise. “Then, so be it!”
Elena was in a daze. Who had decided for her? She had to listen to that man’s instruction and had no right to make her own choices.
“Do you mean that Eldest Young Master Williams will stay here for two days?” She looked at Milo for an answer.
Milo nodded and said with a wide grin, “Eldest Young Master Joseph just called me to say that Eldest Young Master Williams would be staying here. The maids are preparing rooms for both of you.”
Elena did not resist the idea if it meant that she could spend more time with Old Master Garcia. However, she wondered why Eldest Young Master Williams would agree to stay there for two days? It was not like him to be agreeable to stay at someone else’s house.
“Eldest Young Master Williams and Miss Ava are also here for a walk. Old Master, shall we go and say hello to them?”
Butler Milo winked at the old master. Old Master Garcia had not paid any attention to Eldest Young Master Williams when they were back in the living hall. He had been too busy with Elena, and thus he had neglected his guest. It was only when Butler Milo reminded him that he recalled Eldest Young Master Williams was his guest.
“Eldest Young Master Williams said that he was here to visit you today.” Butler Milo reminded him.
The old man patted his head and exclaimed, “Oh, how rude and silly I’ve been.”
He took Elena’s hand, and they made their way to the main house.
“Come on! Let’s go say a few words to Eldest Young Master Williams. I have been rude to our guest.”
Elena thought it was funny that Old Master Garcia had only remembered his manners just then. They saw a few people come out of the house before they got into the hall. The man who led the group had a noble and extraordinary aura; he was particularly dazzling under the sun. He had a formidable appearance wherever he went. He would always be the first person anyone would notice in a crowd of people.
Elena’s footsteps felt heavy when she noticed the woman beside Michael. She beamed widely as she held onto Eldest Young Master’s Mu arm. Who else would that be if not Ava?
