There was nothing wrong with what Grace had said. Everyone knew that Ava had a higher status than the two Garcia daughters. Furthermore, she was the old master’s favorite third son’s only child.
Old Master Garcia had loved his youngest son dearly, and so he would love his granddaughter the same way. Hence, no one would dare bully her. It was an uncomfortable truth. No one would dare to say that to the two young misses!
Lottie and Sasha were furious when they heard that. That bloody girl had tried to find faults with them the moment she arrived at their home. She had no respect for them as well! If that were not enough, she even wanted a share of Garcia Corporation!
“Dad, no one will dare to bully her in our family, but she can’t bully us as well!”
Lottie had no intention to kick a fuss with the young lady, but she was annoyed at those people. Sasha had a dark expression on her face when she said, “She doesn’t understand how things run in Garcia Corporation, yet she wanted to direct my people to do things.”
“When something went wrong, she put all the blame on us. I merely told her off because she had crossed the line!”
“Ava is just a little girl. What do you expect from a little girl?”
It was apparent that Old Master Garcia favored his granddaughter. He was furious when he looked at his daughters.
“Ava is your brother’s biological daughter. She would get all of his inheritance in the future.
“I will leave Garcia Corporation to Ava in the future. If she wants to get a head start, you should be helping her instead of stirring up trouble for her.”
“Dad, what are you talking about? You want to give Garcia Corporation away to a strange person that you’ve just found?”
Sasha could not hide her emotions. Her face paled when she heard her father’s words!
“Dad, you…”
“You have a problem with me leaving Garcia Corporation to Ava? I had planned to leave it to Harley anyway. Why would it matter that I’m leaving it to his daughter now?”
“But dad, Garcia… We have also been working hard for Garcia Corporation for years!”
Sasha almost cried when her father said that! They knew that he had always favored his youngest son, Harley. However, did his daughters not deserve any recognition after all that they had done for the company? Lottie had better control of her emotions, but even her fists were tightly clenched. Her sharp nails dug painfully into her flesh.
Old Master Garcia wanted to leave Garcia Corporation to Harley’s only child. What about their children? Lottie’s son, Joseph, had only been appointed as Garcia Corporation’s CEO. He had done remarkable things for the company over the years he had been with them. He was an outstanding man! Would he risk losing everything because of Ava’s return to the family?
“Well, Garcia Corporation would belong to Ava in the future. I have nothing to say about this anymore. If you are not satisfied with my decision, you can come and speak to me tonight.”
The old man’s face sank, and he commanded unpleasantly, “Milo, send them out.”
“Yes, Old Master.”
Butler Milo looked at everyone and shook his head. “Come, let’s go out first. Let’s leave Miss Ava to her rest, and you can all talk about it later.”
Sasha wanted to say something, but Butler Milo shot her a look. It was a signal for her to hold her tongue. The old master was furious with them, so how could they reason with him?
“Very well, Grandfather. We shall take our leave for now so you can accompany Ava.”
Joseph looked calm. He hugged his mother and said, “Let’s go, mom.”
Lottie nodded. Her son was always composed and calm, and she was proud to be his mother. It was a pity that he was not born with the surname Garcia. Even though he took the Garcia surname as his own, her father did not see him as a real young master from the Garcia family.
When Sasha saw her sister had left the room, she followed suit. The last thing she wanted was to shoulder any responsibility if anything were to go wrong while she was there.
Butler Milo led them out of Ava’s room. Sasha could no longer keep her rage down when they reached the hall. She wanted to vent.
“Milo, you saw it too. What kind of a person is that granddaughter of his? She kept saying that we bullied her!
“She’s been home for so long, and which one of us had bullied her? Who would dare to bully her?
Butler Milo pursed his lips, but he did not say anything. Instead, he sighed. It seemed like Sasha did not feel better even after she had vented.
“It’s as if she had performed some black magic on him! She had him wrapped around her fingers!”
“Second Young Miss, don’t talk nonsense. The old master would be angry if he were to hear it.”
“Was I wrong? Perhaps Ava had given him something weird to eat. It’s like he’s a changed man ever since Ava is here.”
“Auntie, let’s not say these things.”
Joseph looked at her with a faint smile. “You do know that Grandfather feels guilty for opposing uncle and auntie from getting together.”
Even though Old Master Garcia did not cause his son’s car accident, it could have been avoided if he did not object to his relationship with Talia. Harley would not have had to elope with his lover.
“Grandfather was only trying to make up to uncle by pouring all of his love on Ava.”
Old Master Garcia had deep regrets when his only son died in the accident. That was why he could not bear to see Ava suffer any grievances. Everyone knew that he only wanted to make up for Harley’s daughter. Sasha looked at Joseph and sighed helplessly.
“My son is useless; he only knows how to spend the day in leisure. I don’t expect much from him, but you are different!”
She looked at Lottie with resentment.
“Eldest Sister, look at our Joseph. Does he look like he has any flaws? Does he not look like a reliable successor?”
“Auntie, please don’t mention this anymore!”
Even though his aunt had praised him, he did not look happy at all. Instead, his face had sunk.
“Grandfather already made it clear that he would leave Garcia Corporation to Wei Zi one day.”
He was not unhappy about that fact; he only wanted everyone to stop mentioning how he would succeed his grandfather. He wished that they would never bring that up again. He did not want it to look as if he had been eyeing that position.
Butler Milo also agreed with his statement. “Second Young Miss, if you want what’s best for Young Master Joseph, please never say that again.”
Sasha took a deep breath to keep her anger in check.
Finally, she pursed her lips and agreed, albeit reluctantly. “Very well, I won’t repeat it. I was just so angry!
“Eldest Sister, I shall take my leave first!” She turned and stomped away in anger.
“Mom, you should head back and rest,” Joseph gently said as he looked at his mother.
Lottie stared at his handsome face for a few moments before she nodded. “Very well, I’ll take off now. Look after your grandfather.”
“I will.”
Joseph watched them leave before he turned to return to his room to continue with his work.
A maid knocked on his door and went into his room with a message. “Young Master, you have a guest.”
Who would visit him at such a late hour?
Joseph was a little surprised. “Who?”
The maid replied, “It seems to be… Eldest Young Master Williams.”
