Ewan had noticed the two older men when Old Master Garcia got out of the car and dashed toward Elena. He would have stopped them had he not recognized the older gentleman and his butler. After all, it was pretty scary to see someone sprint toward another person at full speed.
Even though he did not like Elena, Eldest Young Master Williams had ordered him to protect her. He might have disliked her, but he would guarantee her safety.
Elena felt a little dizzy when the older man shook her shoulders. When she finally recognized Old Master Garcia, her eyes beamed with excitement!
“Grandfather Garcia, what brought you here?”
“Well, I asked you first!” Old Master Garcia held her hand in a tight grip.
“Didn’t they say that you have an exam and won’t be able to make it?” He must have referred to Ava’s parents.
Elena narrowed her eyes. She was not surprised that Henry was there, but Grace? Had she finally dared to show her face in public?
She had been around Michael for so long, and she had learned that she should not run headlong into a situation. It was her impulsiveness that almost got her, and Lois into trouble. She decided to keep her cool even if Grace appeared in front of her.
“My father and Aunt Grace are already here?” Elena calmed herself and smiled at the old master.
Old Master Garcia seemed confused. “Is that what you call her?”
“Otherwise…”
“Aiya, Miss Elena! It really is you! Old Master Garcia’s eyesight is really good! I could not even tell.” Butler Milo finally reached them, and he panted to catch his breath.
Their bodyguards stood at the side. When they noticed Ewan’s presence, they decided to keep their distance to avoid any conflict—the atmosphere between bodyguards was usually a confrontational one. After all, there were no signs of danger.
Old Master Garcia lost his train of thought when Butler Milo interrupted them. However, he still held Elena’s hands in a tight grip.
“I was so disappointed when they told me that you weren’t coming to the banquet. Was this meant as a surprise?”
Elena thought about that for a split second and finally nodded her head. “I also wanted to give my sister a surprise, so Grandfather, could you please promise not to tell anyone that I’m here?”
“Why, of course!” As long as she was there, nothing else mattered. Perhaps it was because she was Ava’s younger sister, he had extended his love for her and treated her like his own granddaughter. Whatever the reason, he was so happy to see her—indescribably delighted!
“Oh yes, when did you get here? Have you finished your exam?”
“I had my last paper yesterday, and I only arrived this morning, I’m staying in a hotel.”
“In a hotel? How can we have that? You need to come with me; it’s not safe to stay outside.” Old Master Garcia did not feel comfortable when he heard that.
However, Elena did not want Ava to know that she was there. Most importantly, Grace would also be there. If she were to stay with the Garcia family, she would most probably run into them.
“Grandfather, that’s because I wanted to give them a surprise. If I were to stay at your place, that would defeat the purpose, wouldn’t it?” She pulled the Old Master Garcia’s hands lightly. “Grandfather, please keep this a secret. Otherwise, I’ll ignore you forever.”
Old Master Garcia had felt as if something was missing when Elena addressed him as ‘Grandfather Garcia’. However, everything was well when she had called him ‘Grandfather’ instead.
How could the old man resist her adorable plea? He had agreed to it right away!
“Alright, alright. You can stay in a hotel, but you must stay in one of our hotels!” A child from his family should not simply drift outside; it was too unsafe.
“Grandfather, I came with Eldest Master Williams this time, how can it not be safe?” She turned around and pointed at Ewan. “See? I even have a bodyguard, so how can I be in any danger?”
She was only a little girl. Who would want to harm a little girl for no reason at all?
Butler Milo also smiled and said, “Come on, don’t get too nervous, Old Master. Eldest Young Master Williams must have planned everything perfectly.”
Old Master Garcia glanced at Ewan, but he was still unsure. He leaned closer toward Elena and lowered his voice. “Elena, what’s your relationship with Eldest Young Master Williams?”
Ava said that she was a maid in the Williams’s household, but Eldest Young Master Williams had brought her on a trip. He even arranged a bodyguard for her protection. It did not look as if she was only temporary help.
“It’s because Second Sister has a good relationship with him!” Elena did not wish to lie to him, but if she had told him the truth about her relationship with Michael, he would definitely be worried about her. Why would she mention such a shameful relationship?
“Grandfather, why are you out and about? Don’t you need to go back to work? You must be slacking off.” She had managed to change the topic so naturally, that Old Master Garcia fell right into it.
“I’m getting old, so I don’t really need to take care of the company’s matters now.”
“Then, Eldest Young Master Garcia is the one running the business now?” She asked.
Old Master Garcia nodded and said, “Next time, you’ll call him ‘Eldest Cousin Brother,’ just like Ava does.”
“Sure.” She would agree to anything as long as they did not talk about her relationship with Michael.
Old Master Garcia held Elena’s hand and said, “You’ve just arrived at City L, yes? Let me show you around; what do you say?” He was out that day because he wanted to buy a special present for Ava to give it to her during the banquet. However, it was such a coincidence that he ran into Elena, so he decided to put that task aside.
Elena looked at Ewan, and the bodyguard coldly said, “Eldest Young Master does not intend to limit Miss Garcia’s activities.” As long as she did not try to lose him.
Elena felt a sudden burst of happiness and nodded excitedly at Old Master Garcia.
She was only too happy to spend some time with Old Master Garcia. It was like how she had spent her time with Old Madam Williams.
Just as the Old Master Garcia held Elena’s hand, an old man in his 60s walked toward them.
“Old Garcia! Wow, it’s really you!”
“Old Yang, you’re taking a walk too? What a coincidence!”
They had been friends for many years, and both of them were retired. Since they decided to let their younger family members fight at the frontline while they enjoyed their retirement, it was not uncommon for them to take strolls around the city.
Old Yang’s smile got even wider when he noticed the young lady whose hand was in Old Master Garcia’s hand.
“Is this your long-lost granddaughter? Wow, both of you like exactly the same! Look at the eyes; look at the facial features!”
“Does she really look like me?” Old Master Garcia was thrilled to hear that.
Elena might not have been his real granddaughter, but once he heard that they look alike, he was delighted!
When Butler Milo heard that, he stood in front of them to compare their facial features. Suddenly, he opened his eyes wide. “After some observation, Elena truly looks like our Old Master Garcia! So very alike!”
Old Master Garcia’s facial features had shrunk a little due to his age, but they both knew him from decades ago. Elena’s face, and her heroic air; she looked quite similar to Old Master Garcia when he was a young man.
Other people could easily mistake them for grandfather and granddaughter!
