Breakup? It had only been less than 24 hours since they confirmed their relationship.
“No… I won’t accept it!” Henry pulled her back.
He looked firm as he stared at her tear-stained face. “If you blame me for not protecting you well, then I swear that next time, I will…”
“I don’t need you to swear, Henry. I don’t like you, and I don’t want to be with you, it’s that simple!”
Elena struggled and wanted to break free from his arms. However, he held her so tightly and forcefully that she was unable to budge an inch, no matter how hard she tried.
“No, we agreed that even if you don’t like me now, you’ll like me in the future. We’ve agreed to it!”
If he did not know what love was a few hours ago, he most surely knew then.
To love someone was when one would be heartbroken when the person one loved was hurt, to the point where one would be willing to subject oneself to ten times the amount of pain.
To love someone was when one’s heart felt like it would break when the person they loved wanted to leave them. It was even hard to breathe.
Love must have felt exactly like he did then—even though he knew that she did not love him, he still did not want to let her go! He would never want to let her go!
“Give me another chance, Elena, please give me another chance to protect you! I’m sorry, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault!”
He thought he liked her simply because of habit, but that was not the case! When he failed to find Elena at the KTV that night, he was on the brink of despair, and he felt as if he could not even survive. It was not merely out of habit; he had fallen in love with her.
“Henry, let me go. I’m not a good match for you. Do you see these marks? He did these to me! Don’t you understand?”
She could not break free from his grip. Her red and swollen eyes welled up with tears again.
Elena tried to calm down and looked at him with a painful smile. “Are you stupid? Do you really want used goods that someone else had played with?”
“You’re not goods!” He would not allow her to hurt herself like that!
“See it for yourself! Look at it!”
Her fingers trembled as she unbuttoned her shirt. There were many marks on her neck, shoulders, and breasts, and Michael had been the one to place them there.
“Do you see it? Do you dare to imagine how frightening and crazy he was when he forced himself on me?”
She laughed. She laughed so madly that even the world accompanied her into her despair.
“Are you willing to accept this? Face it! I’m not your woman! I’m his toy!”
As she undid the third button, more marks became visible.
“Do you still want to see it?” Elena grinned and continued to undo another button.
If she continued to do that, her entire body would be displayed entirely in front of him. Henry grabbed her hand and clasped it tightly in his palm.
“Enough… That’s enough!”
The gentle and precious man who always smiled at whatever life threw at him buried his face in her arms at that moment. His tall body trembled silently.
“Don’t hurt me this way anymore. Don’t hurt yourself too! I don’t mind, no matter what happens, I won’t mind!”
He tightened his arms around her and hugged her.
“I don’t mind, because I love you, Elena. I love you. I’m just afraid that you won’t want me!”
Elena’s heart shook as she looked at the noble and elegant man. He trembled as he voiced out his fear that she would not want him! She was already someone else’s toy and she… She had no right to want him.
“Don’t push me away again, Elena. I can’t bear the pain of losing you! You can’t abandon me unless you kill me!”
“Don’t… do this…”
Her hand rested on his head, and she tried to push him away, but she could not make any effort at all. He should not have done that. She would panic if he continued to do that. She was not worthy of his love. A broken woman like her was not worth it at all.
“Let’s just go back to the way we were before, okay?”
Henry lifted his head from her bosom and looked at her. He raised his hand to button her shirt. His fingers shook, but he tried his best to stay calm.
He would face everything with her. However, he did not want to hear that she wanted to leave him. Then, Henry held her and gently laid her back onto the bed.
He laid down beside her and rested her head on his arm. He was gentle with her, but he did not give her the slightest chance to escape. Elena wanted to speak, but his hand covered her lips and forbade her from speaking.
“If it has anything to do with being undeserving of me or wanting to leave me, you’re not allowed to say a word. I won’t accept a single word.”
He lowered his head and kissed her gently on her sweaty forehead.
“I’ve never liked a girl as much as I like you. I don’t even know when I fell in love with you.”
He had no idea when his feelings for her had developed, but he was already past the point of no return. Unless she were unhappy, else he would never let her go.
“If you’ve reconciled with him one day and you decide to return to him, then I’ll fulfill your wishes.”
Her thin body trembled, but he held her tightly in his arms. Henry’s chin rested against the top of her head. He did not give her any pressure, but he was snug against her body.
“But if it’s because of fear or other trivial reasons, I won’t accept it. I won’t allow it if it’s for any of those reasons.
“Elena, you’ve gotten under my skin. It’s not that easy to escape now! You want to abandon me? Never!
“I’ll stay with you even if it means going to hell! Don’t be afraid; it’s no big deal! We’ll go to hell together.”
She closed her eyes and grabbed his collar. Tears had disappeared from the corners of her eyes. Go to hell together?
She was too unchaste and unworthy of his companionship. At that moment, Elena neither rejected him nor did she flinch—she was merely uneasy.
“He said…” She bit her lips. “He’ll find me.”
“I’ll protect you. Don’t be afraid.”
Finally, Elena nodded, sobbed, and shrank back into his arms.
That night, the wind was gentle, but it was just a little bit colder. The cold wind made the sleeping girl tremble from time to time. She had no idea whether it was due to the nightmare or the cold breeze.
The man who had fallen asleep with her opened his eyes after she had fallen asleep. He stared at her pale face the entire night.
Her anxiety and panic were most vivid in her sleep. Her hoarse cry for help and her trembling body made him worry. If she had to go to hell, then he would go down with her!
After some time, Henry’s mobile phone rang, and he immediately silenced it. The girl in her arms had yet to stir. He moved slowly and brought the phone to his ear. “What’s the matter?”
Henry sulked, and his voice became cold when he heard what the other party had to say. “If he doesn’t comply, then make him disappear from now onward!”
