Chapter 315 I’ll Forgive Everything as Long as You Promise Me

Book:The Reborn Wife Published:2024-5-1

Elena was so scared that she nearly screamed.
She had not expected Eldest Young Master Williams to punch Henry without a single word. She thought that he would be merciful with them because Henry was his brother.
Perhaps Eldest Young Master Williams had been lenient with the strength of his punch. Otherwise, Henry might not be able to keep his feet up. Even so, Henry spat out the blood in his mouth. Elena was so scared that she nearly fainted.
When she realized that Michael had moved toward Henry again, Elena gasped and rushed to Henry’s side. She spread her arms open to protect him from behind her. Then she watched as Michael slowly walked toward them step-by-step. She was so panicked that her fingertips trembled like mad.
At that moment, Eldest Young Master Williams had been incredibly scary! His aura was so cold enough that it could freeze the surrounding air around them.
“DON’T! Don’t hurt him. You’re not allowed to hurt him!” She was terrified of him.
Eldest Young Master Williams was not a good-tempered person, but she did not expect that he would deal such a cruel blow to his brother. Did that incident hurt him that badly?
“DON’T HURT HIM!” She watched as Michael advanced two steps forward. She was so scared that she stepped backward and tumbled straight into Henry’s arms.
“I said, let go of her!” Michael’s voice seemed to squeeze through his teeth.
Elena flinched subconsciously, but Henry stood up straight. He did not let her go. Instead, he held her gently in her arms. Michael’s eyes narrowed, and hints of murderous aura surged forth.
Even Henry—who stood at the door—was there because he was afraid that his eldest brother might lash out against Henry.
Even though Michael did strike him, it was not at full strength. One punch was enough to cripple Henry if Eldest Brother did not hold himself back! They had been sworn-comrades for more than ten years, and Henry knew that his eldest brother would regret it if he killed or crippled Henry.
“Eldest Brother…”
Michael did not even look at him. His eyes were exceedingly frigid as he locked his gaze onto the arm that Henry had around Elena. He was filled with a cold and murderous aura—there was no warmth or affection in it. He was like a killing machine; he was always ready to end a life!
Henry pursed his thin lips. He held on to Elena when he said, “This is my fault.”
“No!” Elena hugged his arm and bit her lip before she stared at Michael.
“It’s your fault! It’s ALL YOUR FAULT! You’re the one who pushed me to him! Why do you only know how to get angry with others in situations like this? You never even thought about whether you were also responsible for it!”
He did not speak, but he could taste the blood in his mouth.
When she looked at that ever-unfeeling face, Elena felt so much panic and distress that she was conflicted about her plan. However, they had gone too far. They could not turn back then. She could no longer stop it even if she felt regretful.
She walked out of Henry’s arms and stepped forward to face Michael.
“Elena…” Henry tried to pull her toward him, but she pushed him away.
It was not until she was three steps away from Michael that she stopped, and looked up to meet his cold gaze.
“You never gave me any warmth. You even pushed me away from yourself. You pushed me away to other men.
“Eldest Young Master Williams, why should I like you? Why should I like you when our relationship was only based on a contract right from the start? Did I have an obligation to like you?”
She sneered despite the pain in her heart. Her expression was more ruthless and scornful than anyone else there.
“I did not even like him initially. It was YOU! YOU forced me to like him!”
“What did I force you to do? Did I force you to sleep with him?”
Michael grabbed her wrist, and the action startled Henry that he immediately took two steps forward.
Even Henry tried to get over there. He did not dare to get close, but he did not dare to be too far, either.
No matter what happened, Elena had a baby in her stomach. If Eldest Brother lost control and hurt both her and the child, he would regret it for the rest of his life!
“Isn’t that what happened? I am a woman who has been abandoned by my fiancé. Suddenly, there is this gentle, considerate, and warm man by my side. He’s handsome too. If you were in my shoes, won’t you feel something too, Eldest Young Master Williams?”
“Bullsh*t!” What did she mean when she said she felt something? Was it that easy to feel something for someone?
Irrespective of how many women had shown up around him in the past, when had he felt anything for them?
Elena did not want to see the disdain and contempt in his eyes. The more she did, the better she understood that he was not the kind of man who could love so easily. Once he fell in love, it was something that would last throughout his lifetime.
NO! She should not think about that. She had no right to think about that at all!
“What you think is your own business. All I know is that I’m in love with Henry. I want to be with him!”
“Say that again!” The man’s voice was ice-cold, and he tightened his grip on her wrist.
Elena winced because of the pain, and her small face was lost in an array of complex emotions. Even so, she glared at Michael and bellowed angrily, “I want to be with Henry, I love him!”
“You!”
“Big Brother! I started it. Let her go.”
Henry moved toward them, but Michael lashed out at him with a punch. It might have looked like a random punch, but everyone there knew about his strength!
After the second punch, Henry vomited another mouthful of blood. He could not even stand up straight had he not held the edge of the table!
“STOP HITTING HIM! If you have what it takes, then hit me!” Elena wanted to rush toward Henry, but Michael clasped her wrist so tightly that she could not break free!
“Henry!” She stared at the scarlet blood that dripped from Henry’s lips. The distress in her eyes was completely genuine!
Michael’s heart clenched again when he saw how she looked at Henry! Pain! The metallic taste of blood made its way to his lips once again.
“Tell me that he tricked you.”
His breathing labored, and his chest felt as though something had pulled at it. It was so painful that he could not breathe.
“As long as you promise to forget about this man from now onward, I will forgive you.”
There was no way he could forgive her! He could not bear to lose her and their child—the baby in her stomach. As long as she was willing to return to his side, he could forgive her for anything!
His heart had ached so badly!
“Can we stop fighting now?” The anger he felt immediately turned into fear when she said that she loved the other man.
It seemed like he did have such a fragile side after all.
He was terrified. He was worried that she would cease to care about him; he was afraid that she would care only for another man.
He was so scared that his fingers shook. Even his tall body trembled from fear. He was so terrified that he saw only blackness in front of his eyes, and he was so afraid that he would faint at any time.
Did she understand his fears?
Michael’s thin lips quivered, and his fingertips trembled.
He gently took her hand as he did not dare to use force in case he might hurt her.
“Elena, let’s reconcile. Tell me you are still willing to be with me. We’ll spend the rest of our days peacefully together, okay?”
