Chapter 286 Like A Pug

Book:The Reborn Wife Published:2024-5-1

Two days later, Elena could finally sit in a wheelchair and move around in the courtyard. Henry had accompanied her for the past two days.
That person said he would not be there, and he really did not make an appearance. It was a little difficult to accept it at first, but she seemed to be at peace with it then.
“How about this? Advanced Mathematics. Do you need intensive lessons?”
Under the gazebo in the courtyard, Henry sat in front of Elena, and he held a university advanced mathematics book in his hands.
“Just point out the ones you do not understand. I’ll see if I can explain it to you.”
Fortunately, he had been a good student when he attended school. Otherwise, he would not be able to explain such a difficult subject.
Elena took the book and flipped it to a page, and then handed it back to him.
“I’m almost completely lost from here onward.” Too many accidents had happened, so she had not had the chance to study.
It was already November, and she only had two more months before the examinations.
She did not like to study, so she had not gotten a good foundation while in high school. She had also neglected her university work for so long that it was hard to pick them up again.
She did not expect a businessman like Henry would be so well versed in university subjects. He could answer any questions she had, and it saved her a tonne of money had she hired a tutor.
However, Second Young Master Sharp seemed to have incurred heavier losses. His time was much more valuable than a tutor’s.
Henry did not even think twice about it. After he glanced at the page that she had flipped to, he pulled her wheelchair next to him. He took out a pen and blank paper and explained it to her.
Except for when the nurses were there to check on Elena’s wounds, Henry had tutored her the entire morning.
When Second Young Master Sharp stepped away from the gazebo for a quick phone call, the nurse took the opportunity to express her envy to Elena.
“Miss Garcia, you are very lucky. Your boyfriend treats you so well. He left his work back at Sharp Corporation so that he could keep you company all the time. I would have fainted from joy a long time ago.”
“Have I not been fainting enough lately?” Elena glared at her. She had no other way to explain that Henry was not her boyfriend.
She could not even explain it. Was the way Second Young Master Sharp treated her something that only a boyfriend would do? She tried to get him to go back to work, but he had refused her every time. Finally, she gave up on that as well.
She did not want Layla and the rest of her friends to know what had happened. When they called, she told them that she was unwell and that she was with Henry. She did not reveal anything else to them. She did not mention her injuries at all.
The morning passed, but she had managed to learn several days worth of classes in that one morning.
A good teacher would always produce good students. Elena realized that as long as Henry was there, she would be able to catch up on her classes in no time at all.
“As for General Studies and Design, I could help a little with the Design part. You’ll need to memorize the key points on your own. I won’t be able to help you with the others, though.”
“You even know design? Didn’t you study finance?” It was unbelievable!
“Just because I studied finance doesn’t mean that I can’t study design as well.” Well, he had studied every professional course that the university had offered. Finance was just something he was forced to learn to inherit the family business.
“Amazing!” Elena looked at him with admiration!
“Help me with my design subjects this afternoon. I have lots of questions that I don’t understand. I can’t grasp the real concept of design.”
“See, I know that you are dumb.” If he did not tutor her, could he sit back and watch as she failed her classes?
“Can I ask you if I don’t understand anything about my classes in the future?” She was not dumb; she was just behind in her classes.
“It depends if I’m in the mood,” Henry snorted.
Elena flashed a smile at him. “And what would put you in a good mood?”
“It depends.” He glanced at the time, closed the book, and stood up. “It’s time for your meal.”
“This bland food again.” Elena wrinkled her nose and showed an expression of defiance. “I have eaten plain congee for two days in a row. I don’t want that anymore.”
“The doctor said you couldn’t eat fish or meat, and you can’t touch any soy sauce. Do you want to get scars?”
He ate plain congee and cabbage with her every day, but he had not complained about it. Why would she lament about it?
“I don’t need fish and meat. I just don’t want plain congee anymore. How about some noodles? I heard that there is a delicious noodle restaurant right outside the hospital.”
She did want to have any more plain congee. Her injuries were not that serious. It was just superficial wounds on her body; he had been too cautious with her.
Henry thought about it for a while before he finally picked up his mobile phone to call the doctor for confirmation. As soon as he hung up, he was met with Elena’s hopeful stare. There was no way he could refuse her request.
“Right outside the hospital? Very well, you can wait here. I’ll go get it.”
Ashton had returned to the company, but there were bodyguards nearby. Henry was not worried about anything that would happen while he was away.
“Hmm!” Elena nodded vigorously.
“You’re like a ravenous little pug!” Henry rapped his finger on her head, and then turned and walked out the courtyard.
Elena sat frozen for two seconds before she reacted and snorted at his back, “You are the one that’s like a dog!”
The man had not taken notice of that as he quickly made his way toward the hospital entrance.
He had called her a dog! How rude! Elena pouted with displeasure.
However, since he had forgone his status as the second young master of the Sharp family to get some takeout food for her, she decided to give him a pass.
She sat in her wheelchair, obediently, as she continued to read her book. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice.
“Elena, are you still here?”
Ava was also in the courtyard, and she had two nurses and two bodyguards with her. She acted like she was a princess out for an inspection tour.
Elena was all alone under the gazebo that was surrounded by foliage. They looked worlds apart.
Ava made her way toward her sister. Why isn’t there anyone with you? Is there no one to take care of you?”
Elena got annoyed, so she looked at her sister. Ava had walked into the gazebo, and the two nurses had followed her. Her two bodyguards, however, were not permitted to enter the gazebo.
That b*tch even had plain-clothed bodyguards nearby! Ava thought she was alone, and she could not have been more wrong about that.
“What can I do for you?” asked Elena coldly.
Ava’s gaze fell on her face. There were scratches on her neck and chin. Even though the scars on the lips have healed into scabs, they still looked horrible. Furthermore, there were visible scars on the back of her exposed arms too.
Ava was overjoyed when she saw her wounds.
“Oh, it looked like those guys really roughed you up!”
How the tables had turned! That b*tch could finally have a taste of what it was like to be shamed by those men! It was obvious that those men had inflicted those wounds on her.
She did not feel an ounce of pity for Elena. Instead, Ava was ecstatic!
She laughed and asked, “How did it feel to have so many men at once? Did it feel good?”
