Porter rubbed his forehead as he felt a little helpless. “Second Elder Brother, I’m only good at studying. I have no practical experiences.”
“The old man didn’t give you any opportunity to learn! He gave all the chances to Michael!” Dylan could not suppress the anger in his tone of voice.
Porter thought that he should just stick to his drink so that he would not say anything to anger his brother.
“I can’t believe that you don’t even have a shred of ambition!”
Dylan walked toward his brother and set the liquor bottle down in front of Porter with a loud thud.
“Don’t say that I didn’t warn you. If you do not take the initiative to move forward, sooner or later, you will be forced out of any inheritance from Williams Corporation.”
“Second Elder Brother, I have inadequate practical experience. You know it, and Grandfather knows it too.”
Porter sighed and spread his arms. “Grandfather once gave me the opportunity to buy a piece of land to develop it into real estate. Everyone knows that real estate is one of the most profitable business models. Grandfather did allow me to do that, but what happened in the end?”
Porter sounded a little discouraged when he softly said, “If it weren’t Eldest Brother, who knows what would have happened to the project.
“Theory and practical experiences are two totally different things. My so-called genius talent, apart from studying, amounts to nothing.”
He downed the last of his liquor, set down his glass, and stood up.
“Second Elder Brother, I have something to attend to. I shall take my leave for now. I’ll join you for drinks again next time.”
He did not wait for Dylan’s response as he waved his hand and left hurriedly. It was as if he would be harmed if he were to stay for another second. That was right. That brat was afraid that he would get hurt!
What was wrong with everyone? Why were they so afraid of Michael!
“Dylan…” Sarah descended the stairs. She caught a glimpse of Porter as he left in a hurry and sighed.
“Dylan, don’t go against your eldest brother anymore. Your fifth brother is right. Fighting Eldest Young Master Williams would not yield any desirable results.”
The old master clearly favored the eldest young master. He used Old Madam’s accident as leverage to force Eldest Young Master Williams to return to Williams Corporation. The old master had benefited from that great tragedy.
Eldest Young Master Williams was the second most powerful person in Williams Corporation. Who could oppose him?
“I don’t believe that Michael has not made any mistakes in his life that disappointed the old man!”
Dylan was still very angry. Since he heard the news, the anger in his chest had not subsided. He poured himself another glass of red wine and drank it all in one shot.
Sarah sat down opposite him. As she stared at her son’s flushed face, she was at a loss.
“Actually, your fifth brother is the smart one.”
“That brat is only book smart!” His brains were only good for exams!
It was as he said, he was totally useless when it was down to practical knowledge. Grandfather did want to nurture his talents. Otherwise, he would not have assigned such an important project to him when he was only 22 years old. However, what did he achieve? He had accomplished nothing!
Whatever Sarah had on her mind, she could only express it in a sigh. It was useless to talk any sense into her son whenever he was that angry. Perhaps it was a good thing to subdue his recklessness. At least no one would target him.
Some of the people in the Williams family were terrifying. A simple stare would cause one’s skin to tingle. Who were the righteous members, and who were the evil ones? What about those who were innocent, and those who pulled strings from behind the curtain?
The truth would shock everyone to their core once it was revealed.
“Williams Corporation will hold a board meeting tomorrow. Don’t drink too much, and you best get ready. You might need to speak tomorrow.”
“With Eldest Young Master Williams around, would I even get the chance to speak?” Dylan scoffed.
“My dear son, don’t be angry. Everyone sees your contribution to Williams Corporation.”
Sarah walked toward her son and sat down next to him. Then she gently nudged his shoulders. “Are you angry because the girl you like, Ava, is with Michael?
“Who would like that greedy and vain woman?” He had no longer liked Ava since a long time ago.
“That’s strange. My son would never get angry over such trivial matters.”
A mother would know her son the best. Sarah gave him another soft nudge. She still felt that it had something to do with Ava.
“Is she that special? She’s rather…hypocritical.” She was a pretty woman, but she did not have a good personality.
“My son, if you want an attractive girl, I can find you someone nice, alright? As for Ava, anyone could tell that she only wants to stick to Michael.”
She had only been with her son to use him. Sarah could already guess what Ava wanted. “Don’t bother with such an evil woman with ulterior motives. You should consider your future.”
Dylan remained silent, but his anger had gradually subsided.
He was partly angry because of a woman, but it had nothing to do with that hypocritical woman, Ava. He already saw through Ava’s true intentions a long time ago.
He was frustrated with himself because it took him too long to realize that Elena was his angel!
On the day of the old madam’s accident, he was not in Bentson, and he could not rush back in time. Henry had taken Elena with him, and everyone had been so busy with his grandmother’s funeral that no one paid any attention to Elena.
Then they had announced his brother’s new role as Williams Corporation’s CEO. Someone had remarked that his former fiancée was down on luck because it was her sister that got to be the future CEO’s wife.
He only realized that Elena was the person he had been looking for when they showed photographs of Elena and Ava for a comparison. No wonder his eldest brother had taken her away the night of the auction. The news about Elena’s return was published the next day too.
It turned out that everyone else had known about that, and he was the only dumb person in the dark. Those people had deceived him!
Sarah had wanted to persuade him still, but she decided against it. She knew her son’s personality and temper. It was not a good thing to be outstanding in that family. Everything was fine as it had always been.
“I shall invite some nice girls here for a drink so that you can get to know them better, alright?”
Dylan just sat there and drank his wine.
“Son, are you ignoring your mother too?”
“I do want a woman.”
Finally, he was willing to speak to her. However, the words that he uttered shocked Sarah into silence.
Dylan said in a serious tone, “I want Third Young Miss Garcia, Elena.”
