Chapter 236 The Insider News Was Their Relationship

Book:The Reborn Wife Published:2024-5-1

At six o’clock, all major news networks had received news that Sharp Corporation would hold a press conference at seven in the evening. Before half-past six, they had sent out all the invitations for the dinner party.
When Elena and Henry appeared together at the press conference, all the reporters were dumbfounded. They knew that September Studio was the other party for the agreement. They had expected Elena to be at the press conference, so why was there a beautiful girl behind Elena’s name card? That girl was as beautiful as a fairy!
She had light makeup on her delicate face, which turned her into an absolute beauty. Her temperament was also parallel to Second Young Master Sharp when she sat next to him.
Both of them looked so good together! The media was awe-stricken when she introduced herself.
She was Elena!
As the head of the marketing department, Lois briefly outlined their development goals for the year. She was truly their Lois. She was anxious before she went on stage, but once she got onto the platform, she went on and on about her report. Her eloquence was comparable to people who had years of working experience. She was so talented!
The second half of the press conference was a Q & A session with the reporters. Due to the recent scandal, the reporters had prepared a long list of questions for Elena.
One of the reporters immediately asked, “Miss Garcia, are you really Eldest Young Master Williams’s fiancée?”
The audience immediately clamored. That question was bitter and sharp. Everyone knew the next question would be related to the scandal that involved Second Young Master Sharp.
Elena said with a smile, “No.”
The floor got even more heated with discussions. She admitted that she was Elena, but she disowned any relationship with Eldest Young Master Williams.
However, another news reporter immediately responded, “Miss Garcia, you have denied that you are Eldest Young Master Williams’s fiancée. Was it because Eldest Young Master Williams had called off his engagement with you?”
Henry just sat there and watched as the girl got caught in a mob. It was apparent that the reporters were only interested in gossip.
“Miss Garcia, we heard that your sister, Ava, got between you and Eldest Young Master Williams. Did he dump you for your sister?”
“Miss Garcia, I heard that both of you lived with Eldest Young Master Williams. Did the Garcia family get the two of you to serve Eldest Young Master Williams together?”
“Miss Garcia…”
Elena had a blank expression on her face as she listened to the reporters throw humiliating questions at her.
Eventually, she replied indifferently, “Today’s press conference is about the cooperation between Sharp Corporation and September Studio for the establishment of September Media. I refuse to answer questions relating to my private life.”
Her calm performance was unparalleled with her age. She looked like a calm and successful woman who had been working for many years. The reporters quieted after she dismissed those questions. However, after a short while, they raised even sharper questions
“Miss Garcia, September Studio had the opportunity to work with Sharp Corporation because your team won the intercampus comic competition.
“But I heard that September Studio only won the grand prize because of your relationship with Second Young Master Sharp. What is your comment on this?”
Henry’s eyes narrowed, and he stared at the reporter. The reporter looked unfamiliar. Besides, most reporters would not ask questions about Second Young Master Sharp so bluntly.”
Henry remained silent, and he looked at Elena and wondered how she would solve it. Elena put on her poker face and looked directly at the reporter who asked the question.
Suddenly, she smiled. “If I were your boss, I would fire you, for sure. You’re very unprofessional!”
The reporter’s face immediately darkened, and he continued in a displeased tone. “Miss Garcia, please answer my question.”
“Of course, there was no insider’s tip.”
As expected, the reporters chuckled at Elena’s reply.
Elena kept the smile on her face and looked at the reporter who asked the question again. “I would like to ask this reporter if you have seen the competition? Even if it was a replay?”
“Err…” The reporter hesitated, but he quickly said, “Of course I have.”
He would sound ignorant if he went to the press conference without sufficient preparations.
Elena smiled again and said, “Since you have seen it, then you should know how our legendary god-like artist got high-scores for our team.
“You must have also known the difficulty of the topics that the competition presented at that time!”
“Perhaps you did your homework and got information about the topics before the start of the competition? Maybe from some key persons?”
Of course, the reporter hinted that the key person was Second Young Master Sharp. Everyone knew that Sharp Corporation was one of the organizers for the event. If she could get her claws on Henry, how difficult was it for her to get hold of information that pertained to the competition?
“Now, I know for sure that you did not watch any parts of the competition!”
Elena suddenly stood up. Even though she was petite, she exuded a domineering aura through the look in her eyes once the smile on her face faded.
“It did not matter if we knew about the topics; we went through the whole process of the competition, just like everyone else.”
“Other contestants completed 30-square thumbnails in three hours, while we did 60-square thumbnails in the same amount of time. Plus, we achieved that over live broadcast too.
“Our team, including the screenwriter, took the most challenging route for the process.
“There was no way to falsify the live broadcast of the competition; there was no way to find other’s help, and there was certainly no way to use any of our ‘connections’ to proceed with the contest!
“As a ‘professional’ reporter, I am disappointed that you don’t even realize these little facts. Tell me, where is professionalism?”
The sudden increase in the tone of her voice startled the reporter, and he almost tipped over.
“I—”
“If you can’t act professionally in your work, isn’t it a waste of money for your boss to employ you?”
Elena glanced at Caleb, who sat nearby. “Find out which network this reporter represents. We feel so ashamed to have invited such an unprofessional reporter at our press conference.”
“Yes, Miss Garcia.” Caleb immediately led some people toward the said reporter.
Even though they did not have more staff in their department, they were free to deploy Sharp Corporation’s bodyguards freely. Caleb looked really sharp when he walked with two bodyguards by his side.
The reporter panicked. “What do you want to do? Do you want to hit me?”
“You are overthinking it. I just want to see the name of the network that you represented today.”
Caleb smiled and ordered the two bodyguards to take the reporter before he could escape. Shortly after that, Caleb turned toward the stage and announced, “He has no reporter’s badge. It looks like he is a fake reporter!”
Everyone immediately went into an uproar! However, Elena did not appear surprised at all.
When Caleb escorted the fake reporter out of the premises, and everyone had calmed down, Elena smiled and asked, “Any more questions? Please remember to keep your professionalism.”
