Michael did not look at Elena. He just asked, “How much do you want?”
Elena wanted to pick up the agreement and smash his face with it. When had she ever wanted his money? What was his money worth to her?
She had planned to only rely on herself in the future. Even after she got engaged to him, she had never spent his money in vain. The life that she had planned for two years later was merely brought forward prematurely.
“Very well. The fulfillment of the contract is brought forward in advance.” She walked over to her nightstand and retrieved her copy of the agreement. Then she stacked those two copies together and tore them in half with all her strength.
Again, and again, and again! The thin agreements had been torn to shreds without a single care. That pile of shredded paper was the perfect end to their relationship.
“I don’t want your money. From this moment onward, I have nothing to do with you.”
She walked to her closet and took out her luggage bag. As she looked around the room, she realized that she only owned a few items in the room. Eldest Young Master Williams had prepared everything for her, and that included her clothes and shoes. Only her books belonged to her.
She grabbed a pair of jeans and a t-shirt that had been shoved into a corner, and then she went into the bathroom.
“What are you doing?” Eldest Young Master Williams raised his eyebrows.
It was one thing to pack up her stuff, but she wanted a change of clothes too? Did she intend to leave immediately? Did she know what time it was?
“Since the agreement has been terminated, I have no reason to stay here.” Elena stepped into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
Michael’s expression remained sullen. He wanted to stop her, but he willed himself not to do so.
After Elena had changed her clothes, she picked up her books and turned to stare at him. There was no resentment in her gaze, and her eyes showed no emotions in her eyes at all. She had bottled her feelings a long time ago.
“I would still like to remind you that Ava is not as innocent as you think. However, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.”
She did not hate Michael. Their relationship was merely a contract, anyway. She would have to leave eventually. She just never expected Ava would be the reason for the termination of their agreement.
It was Michael’s problem if he wanted to take responsibility for another woman.
Just as she was about to leave, the man behind her said in a solemn voice, “I’ll have Levi take you back to campus tomorrow morning. There’s no need to rush.”
“I have to leave anyway. Why wait until tomorrow?” Elena smirked. The man had already reached the doorway.
As she moved toward the door, his shadowy figure stepped in front of her to block her exit.
“I said, you will leave tomorrow!” he said in a displeased tone.
“What’s the difference? It’s not like I have nowhere to go?” Elena was deliberately defiant.
“Why do you resist me?”
“I…”
“Eldest Young Master, Miss Garcia is awake and she… is crying. She wants to see you.” Levi appeared from the other end of the corridor.
Michael’s brow furrowed even tighter. His somber expression did not reveal what he really felt. However, Elena saw through his mask. His previous disdain for Ava was all but gone. Eldest Young Master Williams was finally merciful toward Ava.
“She’s looking for you, or didn’t you hear that?” she said matter-of-factly as she leaned against the door.
“Why do you care?”
“Why do you think I care? We are not related to each other anymore.” Elena smirked.
“Eldest Young Master, Young Madam, you’re…” Levi was stunned for a moment. Not related? Had they been in a fight again?
“Levi, could you please send me to the foot of the hill?” Elena raised the luggage in her hand to show him. “It’s just close by, so please send me to the foot of the hill.”
“I…” Levi looked at Eldest Young Master Williams.
A tragedy had happened that night, and Young Madam still wanted to give Eldest Young Master some trouble? Levi felt that the young madam was a little unreasonable.
“Young Madam, Miss Garcia has…suffered greatly tonight. Could you not…”
“Am I troubling her?” Elena had a cold expression on her face. She stepped past Michael and headed downstairs.
What does Ava’s tragedy have to do with her? Did everyone think that she had taken a bullet for Elena? Did Michael think so too?
That was insane! If Ava had not uploaded all those posts to flaunt her status on Weibo, who would have targeted her? What was that about her taking a bullet for Elena? Who would even do that?
“Eldest Young Master, the young madam, she…” Levi was anxious when he saw Elena walked down the spiral staircase.
Michael stared at her back with clenched fists.
As her shadow almost disappeared from his sight, he said, “Send her back to her campus.”

Elena sat in Levi’s car. Along the way, Levi had tried to talk to her, but she did not reply to him. She stared silently at the scenery outside the window and thought about things that concerned only herself.
In the end, she realized her mind was completely blank and that she did not think about anything at all. Then she took out her mobile phone to send a text message to someone.
They had not even reached the campus yet when Elena said, “Levi, stop the car.”
Levi hurriedly stopped the car by the side of the road and turned to look at her. “Young Madam, I am supposed to send you back to the campus.”
Before she could reply, Levi said, “Young Madam, you really should not blame Eldest Young Master. It’s not because he likes Miss Garcia, but he feels guilty…
Elena pursed her lips as she refused to discuss Michael’s feelings with anyone. Whether he liked Ava or felt guilty for her meant nothing to Elena.
“Young Madam…”
“Do not address me as Young Madam from now on,” she reminded him.
“Young Madam, please do not find fault with Eldest Young Master like this. You’re… You’re too unruly!”
Levi knew that it was not his place to reproach her; after all, she was Eldest Young Master Williams’s fiancee. However, he could not just sit idly by; he cared for Eldest Young Master Williams!
Eldest Young Master Williams was in a bad mood that night, and he had been put in an uncomfortable position. The young madam did not only remain by his side; she even quarreled with him because she was jealous. Levi thought that she had gone overboard with her actions.
Elena grabbed her bag and got out of the car, and Levi immediately shut the engine and got out after her.
“Young Madam, you have many friends of the opposite sex. Eldest Young Master knows that there is nothing between you and them. Even though he was uneasy, at least he never stopped you from interacting with them.”
“But now your elder sister has suffered so much because of him; he merely wanted to take care of her. Can’t you bear with it for a little while?”
