The Williams Group had sent someone to judge the competition? Why would they do that?
However, Lois was not sure about the accuracy of the information.
She looked at everyone and said, “I’ve heard that the Williams Corporation also wanted to set up a comics and animation studio and so they came to see if they could scout the right team.”
“The Williams Corporation wanted to set up a comics and animation studio?”
Layla and others looked as if they had been administered with some chicken-blood therapy[1]. They were highly excited!
Did that mean that they had more chances to win the competition?
The Williams Corporation and the Sharp Corporation; those were the business giants of Bentson!
That was no doubt great news for comic clubs and associations if those two major business giants were to work together.
The comic and animation industry in Bentson would definitely progress by leaps and bounds if they had two more big comics and animation studios.
“I heard it was someone from the Williams Corporation who was interested in comics and animations. However, I don’t know who yet.”
It was already incredible that she could obtain information about such big happenings in the industry. “So…” Layla glanced at Elena. She knew that some questions were not appropriate for Elena to ask.
Layla, however, did not mind, so she asked, “Who is representing the Williams Corporation?”
“I don’t know yet, but the person would be here today. We’ll know it when we see them.”
The Williams Corporation was a huge group. If they wanted to set up a small comic and animation studio, they would probably send a head of a department.
None of the top management would attend such events.
They would not even attend it if the competition had involved the industry’s hottest teams, let alone some small university teams. They might not even get to meet their assistants.
Someone knocked on the door of the classroom. Lois answered and chatted with the person for a few moments.
Then she turned toward Elena, and said, “Elena, they have asked for you to register yourself. It’s almost time.”
“Okay, got it.” Elena gave her an OK sign and picked up her keyboard.
Since the contestants were required to write their scripts on the spot, the organizers had prepared computers for them. The only thing that they were allowed to bring was their own keyboard.
“Keep an eye on Aryan,” Elena ordered before she left for the competition.
“I’ll keep an eye on him. Layla, you should go with Elena,” Luacs said.
“Okay.” Layla took Elena’s hand, and they headed out of the classroom.
Elena wore her baggiest sports suit to fully exhibit her talents that day. She had tied her hair into a ponytail. Coupled with the freckles on her face, no one would ever mistake her for a beauty, indeed.
However, Elena met a radiant and beautiful person at the entrance of the gymnasium, and she would dazzle everywhere she went.
That person was Ava.
Ava had recovered her physical strength in just a week. She no longer looked as sickly as she did before that.
She looked like they had taken good care of her, and her mood had lifted too. Her cheeks were rosy, and she wore elegant fairy-like makeup.
She was absolutely stunning!
Countless boys stopped in their tracks just to chance a few more glances at her.
Ava was also a student at Jiang University, but she had not been to her classes of late.
Apparently, she had hired a private teacher. It would be even more challenging to see her at school from then onward.
“Elena, are you here to compete?”
Ava saw the keyboard in Elena’s hands, and her thin pink lips curled into a gentle smile. Her smile could mesmerize a group of boys.
“Why didn’t you tell me that you were competing in advance? Nevertheless, I am here today on behalf of the Williams Corporation. I can’t show you any favoritism!”
Elena’s expression was blank as she stared at the two bodyguards behind her.
Williams Corporation! She was the representative that the Williams Corporation had sent!
Elena had left the Williams mansion for a week, so she did not know what had happened at the Williams mansion or the Williams Corporation.
She had never expected that Ava would join the Williams Corporation, and yet it looked like she did.
Ava approached Elena. The people around them suddenly realize that they were both young misses from the Garcia family. However, there were stark differences between them, from their appearance to how they dressed to their temperament.
One was a fairy, while the other was a toad. The contrast was so sharp that it would hurt one’s eyes!
“Thank you. I reached the finals on my own accord. Your favoritism played no part in it, so it would not have mattered.”
Elena glanced at her indifferently and then turned to leave.
Ava smiled and said, “Do you know why the Williams Corporation was suddenly interested in getting into the comics and animation industry?”
Elena froze in her tracks, but she remained silent.
“It’s because I told them I liked it and I want to do animations. Michael even allocated money for me to start a comics and animation studio.”
Ava was in a great mood, and even her voice carried an indescribable gentleness.
Her whole person was like a beautiful pearl; she was elegant and radiant.
Her stunning smile could even hypnotize half the boys there.
Elena’s gaze settled on her sister’s chin.
Ava wore a sleeveless high-collared top and paired with a silk scarf. She looked very noble.
The top had a high collar with intricate lace patterns, and so it managed to conceal her neck and chin completely.
Elena suddenly smiled and said, “A scar in exchange for a comics and animation studio; your face is really quite valuable. What would you exchange for next?”
“You…” Ava clenched her fist tightly. Her face still bore a smile, but her eyes burned with anger and hatred.
Elena was right; she cared about her face the most.
Yet, why would she risk disfigurement to save the old madam? That was not something she could fathom.
Did Ava not have a choice?
“Elena, it’s obvious that you are uncomfortable with the fact that I have been living with Michael. That was why you’d not been home for such a long time.”
Ava did not want to lose face in front of strangers, so she could only suppress her anger.
The smile never left her face. “I thought that this might not be suitable too, but Michael doesn’t allow me to leave WongRiver Pavilion.
“You know his temper. How would I dare to leave if he doesn’t allow it?”
“Oh, really?” Elena did not seem angry at all; her expression remained neutral.
“Then you had better cover your chin, especially at night. Don’t go running around WongRiver Pavilion with that. You might scare him.”
Ava was so furious that she could rip Elena’s mouth apart.
It was true that she had an ugly scar on her chin, and she had aggressively tried to hide her scar in any way she could.
Nevertheless, even with her scars, was she less pretty than that indecipherable painting of a ghost?
“He…”
“Goodbye,” Elena said curtly before she turned and walked into the gymnasium.
Ava was so angry that she wanted to stomp her feet. She did not even get to use the pretentious speech that she had prepared. That damn Elena had left just like that.
It was as if Ava had a useless martial art with nowhere to display it. It was so frustrating!
What was even more frustrating was that scar on her chin. If Eldest Young Master Williams were to see it, would it really scare him?
It was all that b*stard’s fault!
“Miss Garcia.” Her assistant, who had stood behind her, called out to Ava and respectfully said, “We should get going too.”
Ava took a deep breath and adjusted her breathing before she entered the arena with her assistant.
Since she got to see Eldest Young Master Williams daily, she would have many opportunities to get rid of that little b*tch, Elena.
She would be able to live and sleep with Michael as soon as she got the corrective surgery for the scar on her chin. Why should she be afraid of her, then?
‘Elena, sooner or later, you will kneel before me and beg for mercy!’
