The old madam had been rescued when Michael and Elena arrived at the scene. Another person came out with the old madam, and it was Ava!
“Quickly, take her. Take good care of her and make sure that she is alright!”
The old master commanded the scene. He told everyone else to take care of not only the old madam but Ava as well.
“I heard that she carried the old madam out of the fire.”
Two young servants discussed in a low voice.
“Young Miss Garcia is so brave; she would even save people in a fire. She was not afraid to die in it.”
“Yeah, the fire was so fierce. Everyone thought that the old madam must have…”
“It was all thanks to Young Miss Garcia. If it weren’t for her, the old madam might have perished already.”
“See how well Old Master treats her now. No wonder the old madam doted on her so much, she is really good to the old madam as well.”
“Look at the other Young Miss Garcia, our future Young Madam. The old madam also doted on her, but where was she when the old madam was in trouble?”
“Was she not with the young master? They were probably having some intimate time together.”
“What a waste! The old madam treated her so well too…”
Suddenly, an intimidating figure appeared in their line of sight, and the two young servants hung their heads low. Panicked, they greeted that person unison, “El… Eldest Young Master Williams.”
“Get out.”
Michael was his usual cold self when he walked toward the medical room with Elena in tow.
The two young maids cried and begged for mercy. “Eldest Young Master, we shall not talk bad about anyone again. Please don’t chase us away.”
“Eldest Young Master Williams, we… we were wrong. Eldest Young Master!”
However, the person in front of them was still as reserved as ever, and there was no changing his mind. Elena walked beside him, and she had wanted to look backward, but she only followed behind him quietly. They should not have talked so much in the presence of such a wealthy and affluent family. If the eldest young master did not chase them away, they would still eventually get into trouble if they continued to badmouth their masters. The two servants continued to beg for mercy, but Michael did not spare them another glance. Two bodyguards then escorted them off the Mu household.
Since there was no hope to remain in the Mu household, they continued with their criticism, “Eldest Young Master, you can’t even see people for who they are. You can’t even see through the woman next to you!”
“The old madam loved her so much, but what did she do when the old madam had an accident?”
“That’s right. Miss Ava was the brave one. She did not think of her own safety and dove straight into the fire to rescue the old madam. What did Elena do?”
“She is so ugly, and yet you are so protective of her. Eldest Young Master, are you blind?”
The two were finally taken away. Elena kept her eyes on the ground as she walked and said nothing.
She felt guilty. She was in distress when she thought of the old madam’s kind face.
“You weren’t there when the fire started. You wouldn’t have been able to rescue her in time.”
“I know.” She would not discredit herself just because of other people’s opinions.
However, she was also in pain and anguish for the old madam. There were many people outside the medical room, and the old master was with the old madam to accompany her. The rest of the family members could only wait outside.
“What’s the situation?” Michael approached the doctor.
“The old madam inhaled a lot of smoke, and Dr. Ryan is currently taking care of her,” the doctor reported.
“Eldest Young Master, Eldest Master, do not worry. Dr. Ryan said that there is no danger to the old madam’s life, but her body is weak, and she needs to rest well.”
However, no one could relax under such circumstances. The old madam’s health was already in bad shape, and then the fire had happened. The situation did not look good for her at all…
The doctor’s words from her previous hospital visit lingered in everyone’s mind. “She may not be able to survive the winter…” Then she had inhaled so much smoke in the fire, and she was probably in shock too, they wondered if she could hang on.
Eldest Master Williams asked, “When can we see her?”
“Dr. Ryan said no visits, for now. We should just let her rest.”
“And,” the woman beside Eldest Master Williams stepped forward and asked softly, “What about Young Miss Garcia?”
Elena looked up. That was the first time she had seen Eldest Madam Williams after she heard the words ‘Sarah’ from Mia. Mia, who was admitted to the psychiatric hospital, had told Elena that the person who leaked news from the Williams household was Sarah. Yes, that was the name that Mia had mentioned.
The doctor’s eyes met Sarah’s, and he said, “The lady’s condition is more serious than that of the old madam’s, but fortunately, it is not life-threatening.”
“Did the old master send someone to care for her?”
“The old master’s attention is on the old madam right now. He only ordered us to treat Young Miss Garcia well.”
“I want to see the old madam. I will be careful not to disturb her.”
Eldest Master Williams had no time for other people or other things besides the old madam. He only wanted to know about the old madam’s situation.
The doctor nodded and said, “Yes, Eldest Master Williams, I shall take you. Oh yes, Eldest Young Master Williams, the old master said to let you see the old madam as well.”
Michael and Eldest Master Williams followed the doctor as they entered the medical room together.
Sarah immediately ordered the butler, “Send two maids to take care of Young Miss Garcia. She is now the Williams family’s benefactor. We must take good care of her.”
“Yes, I’ll arrange for it now.” The old butler was about to get to work.
Sarah changed her mind. “Never, I’ll go and take a look at her myself.”
“Hmm.”
After the two of them left, some of the youngsters in the Williams family looked disgusted.
Tabby pouted and sneered, “That woman really knows how to play the cards to her advantage.”
Everyone seemed to understand what she meant. Ava had saved the old madam. So, the old master would treat her as one of the Williams family’s most significant benefactors. The old master might be so grateful to Ava that he would ask her to stay with the Williams family. Ava would not only be the old madam’s favorite person, but she might be the old master’s as well. Therefore, one would please both the old madam and the old master if they had a great relationship with Ava. Killing two birds with one stone; Sarah was smart, indeed!
Tabby had always known that she was not as simple-minded as she seemed!
“She looked gentle and kind, and she had never incited any trouble. In fact, I would say that she is the most perceptive of us all!”
“Say no more. Sarah’s lackey is here. Aren’t you afraid that she’d tattle on you?” Snowy glared at Elena.
She was supposed to be grounded in her room to reflect on her mistakes. However, she was there to see her grandmother. So, no one would comment on that. She finally caught a chance to go out for a breath of fresh air. Tabby glimpsed at Elena’s side profile. She had never liked anyone from the Garcia family. She thought that they were disgusting pests who took up most of her grandparents’ love. She hated them both! Even more so when her big brother had grounded her because of Ava.
Since both her father and big brother were not around, Snowy began to speak rashly.
“You Garcia sisters are really something special. Both of you are running after my big brother. Do you not have any shame?”
“When you were away, your sister Ava took your place. Now that you are back, your sister still lingers on. Are you planning for a threesome?”
Two sisters after Eldest Young Master Williams at the same time? All eyes were on Elena. If what the Sixth Young Miss said were true, then those sisters were indeed scary, were they not?
