Chapter 173 I’m Sick As Well

Book:The Reborn Wife Published:2024-5-1

Ava was so blinded by her own rage that she did not notice the old madam was not feeling well.
“It was you! It was you who had hurt me! Why must you help others to hurt me!”
She gripped the old madam’s shoulders and shook them vigorously!
“Why don’t you care for me? I should be the one engaged to Michael, as well as the one who gets to marry him!
“I was already with him, and yet you made him and Elena get engaged. Do you know how painful Michael had felt about that?
“You asked him to marry an ugly monster, and now, to please you, he has to act with that hideous monster every single day!
“Tell me, was that not all your fault?”
Ava was in an angry mood. She had suffered so many grievances that day, and she desperately needed to vent her emotions. As she shook the old madam’s shoulders violently, she saw red and wished that she could clench her hands around the old madam’s neck and kill her!
“Did you really think that Michael loves that ugly monster? It’s all an act for you.
“Do you know how well Michael treats me when you are not around? Do you know how crazy he treats me in bed?”
“Ava, don’t say anymore, Ava…”
The old lady was shocked. “Impossible, Michael would not be like that. He looked so good together with Elena.”
“Can’t you see how ugly Elena is? Are you blind?”
The old madam could not refute that statement. Elena was not ugly, but… she was not pretty either. However, Elena could never compare to Ava. The latter was a gorgeous woman, and as for Elena… she had too many freckles on her face.
Nonetheless, Elena had a good temperament. She also looked great with Michael, and they seemed very happy together. The old madam could not believe that they had pretended for her sake.
“Ava, Ava, calm…” The old lady choked.
Ava’s grip was too tight, and the old madam could not breathe.
“Ava…”
Ava’s face was so twisted in anger that one could not see her usual exquisite beauty. There was only a wantonly-behaved woman full of hatred. Her deep and intense hatred was utterly repulsive.
In hindsight, her words and claims sounded bizarre and inconceivable. How could such a good girl like Elena hurt her? However, Ava was her granddaughter, and she should not have doubted her.
“Ava…” The old madam continued to choke.
Ava finally saw the old madam’s complexion. Her face flushed red, and she could not breathe! Startled, she withdrew her hand hurriedly and stroked the old madam’s chest to help her breathe properly again.
“Grandmother, Grandmother, I didn’t mean it. I was… I panicked.”
The old madam opened her mouth so that she could breathe better. She was still unable to speak. Ava was in a flurry, but she knew that she could not let the old lady die just yet. She would have lost her only support if the old madam was no longer around. Ava kept patting her back, and finally, the old madam could breathe again. Even though she had regained her breathing pattern, her face was as pale as a piece of paper.
Ava was nervous. She was afraid that Piper and the others would go into the room and asked for an explanation when they noticed the old madam’s condition.
She said hurriedly, “Never mind, Grandmother. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t talk about things that are already in the past.”
“Even if I… I was in a relationship with Michael; he is now with Elena, I… what else could I do?”
The old madam had nothing to say about that. Ava had calmed once again. She would not survive in the Mu household if she did not fix her relationship with the old madam.
“Grandmother, I stayed at the WongRiver Pavilion so that it would be easier to visit you every day. If I were to stay here with you, the people in the Williams family would certainly gossip about me.”
The old lady was too shocked to say anything else. She could only stare at Ava in disbelief.
The young lady wheeled the old madam back into her room and helped her onto the bed.
“Grandmother, you should rest early. I’ll keep watch outside, okay?”
Before the old madam could speak, Ava pulled the quilt over her and left the room.
The old madam frowned as she laid on her bed. She had not refreshed herself, and she had not washed her feet either. Where was Piper? How could she fall asleep in that state?
She wanted PiperPiper to help her, but Ava said that she would take care of her. If she asked for Piper, then everyone might think that Ava did not take good care of her. Even though the old madam had gotten on in years, she could still comprehend the situation well. She had to give Ava some standing, however uncomfortable she might feel at that moment.
Ava did keep watch outside her door. When Ava saw PiperPiper, she waved her hand and said, “I will take care of my grandmother tonight, just go and rest.”
She must fix her relationship with the old madam. Otherwise, she would not have a great future ahead of her.

“I know, just make sure that he gets some rest as well. I…”
Elena glanced backward; the man was still in the shower. Even though she could not see him, she could hear the sound of running water. Eldest Young Master Williams was very dependent on her that day. He behaved like a child who could not be separated from his parents. He was reluctant to leave her side. She probably could not make it back to the office that night.
She whispered to Layla over the phone, “I might only be able to go back tomorrow. If it doesn’t work, then just tell him to stop and rest first.”
“He wouldn’t listen to us. We told him so many times, but you know his temper.”
Layla was panicked. They had completed two chapters that day, and Aryan continued to push himself for the third chapter. However, he did not look well. His face was flushed like he was sick since morning. They were not sure if the aircon was turned too high the previous night, or he was so tired that he fell asleep on the drawing board. Then, he was feverish in the afternoon. He only slept for half an hour after he took his medications, and then he started to work on his sketch again.
“In any case, his body has demanded that he takes more rest.”
Elena peeked at the bathroom again. The sound of water had gone softer. She figured that Eldest Young Master Williams would be out at any time.
“Layla, I have to go. I still have something…”
“How is Eldest Young Master Williams? We saw on the news today that he was injured.”
Layla was curious. “What about you? Are you okay? We saw you on the news too.”
Both Michael and Elena had only appeared on the news for a split second, but Layla could still spot them with her sharp eyesight. The report covered the mediation of the conflict. They also reported that a young master from the Williams family was injured, but they did not reveal his identity. However, those who knew Eldest Young Master Williams could recognize him with just one glance at his side profile.
“We are all worried sick, but we are not sure if we should call you.”
“I’m fine, and Eldest Young Master Williams is with me as well. We’ve got it all handled.”
The bathroom door opened, and Elena immediately said, “Okay, I have to go. Take care of Aryan, and I will be back tomorrow morning.”
She hung up the phone. Her gaze met Michael’s intense eyes as soon as she looked up.
“You only have three or four lessons tomorrow morning,” he casually said.
Elena was stunned for a moment. She did not expect him to be so familiar with her class schedule.
She nodded. “Yes, but I have to go back early. There is a boy in my studio who is sick and has a high fever…”
He immediately interrupted her as he said in a displaced tone. “I am sick as well!”
