Michael thought about that very question too.
If he wanted to see the condition of her wrist, would it not be easier if he pulled her toward him?
However, would he not hurt her even more if he yanked her so forcefully?
“Levi is right outside this door. There’s no way you can get out.” He sat on a chair and stared at her.
“What the hell do you want?” Elena already knew that she could not escape. Was he only there to assert his dominance?
Why did Eldest Young Master Williams have so much spare time on his hands? Had his business gone bankrupt?
Michael stood up suddenly and walked toward Elena.
She panicked and backed off instinctively. “What on earth are you trying to do? Eldest Young Master Williams, I can’t pursue that matter anymore, and I don’t intend to pursue it either. Why do you insist on bullying me?”
She was so angry that she wanted to cry!
If it were anyone else, she would have fought tooth and nail until the very end. Unfortunately for her, he was Michael. There was no way she could defend herself against him.
Since she was doomed to fail in her quest to get justice for Layla, would she be prepared to let things run its course?
Michael walked up to her. She was usually terrified of him, and it did not occur to him that her courage would soar to unseen heights when it was for the sake of her friends.
Elena glared at him. “You…”
He reached out to pick her up and then walked toward the bed.
“Let me go!” Elena pushed him hard, and in a moment of carelessness, accidentally hurt her wrist again.
Her little face scrunched in pain, and he saw her agonized expression.
Michael put her down on the bed and then reached out to remove the towel from her wrist. He wondered if he should just pull her hand out from the sheet.
He did not expect that Elena would rather endure the pain as she yanked her hand back.
He frowned and unhappily said, “Elena, my patience has a limit. Why are you keep interacting with me like this?”
“I won’t play nice with you unless you tell me who you’re protecting!”
Michael had a tight grip on her hand, and so she could not break free. She looked away as if she had had enough of his face.
“I advise you to give up.”
“Michael!”
He kept quiet, but his gaze remained on her wrist.
He did not mean to hurt her when they were at the beach. Since everything had been said and done, he would admit that he did grab her a little too hard.
He opened a drawer and took a first-aid kit that had always been in there. Michael did not say another word. He applied some medicine onto her wrist, and then he began to rub on it gently.
Elena did not understand the man. He was cold with her most of the time, but there were also times when he was kind to her.
In the end, though, all their disagreements were moot. Regardless of whether he was good or bad, their entire relationship was based on an agreement.
“I’m fine. You can go now, Eldest Young Master Williams.” More than anyone else, she knew what kind of person he was.
He would not have said anything even if she took a knife to his neck.
Michael looked at her red and swollen wrist, but he kept quiet and continued to rub it gently.
The atmosphere suddenly turned awkward. Elena wanted to retract her hand, but he did not allow it.
Why was all that necessary when it was only a bit of reddishness and swelling?
She attempted to retract her hand again, and Michael finally let go of her before he stood up.
“Since you are my fiancée, I will not help others to harm you, nor will I harm your friends.”
Was she worried about that?
Would everything be fine if he had made her a promise?
Elena’s heart stirred, and she looked at him. Even though Eldest Young Master Williams was unfeeling and arrogant, one could depend on his words.
He would not merely give someone assurances unless he was sure that he could keep his promise.
“They…”
“I’ll only acknowledge one of your friends, and that’s Layla.”
Elena bit her lip. Her feelings were rather complicated at that point!
Did he mean that he would not promise the same thing if Luacs and Caleb upset him?
Why did he dislike Luacs and Caleb?
“If you hurt Luacs and Caleb, I won’t just sit idly by.”
“What can you do?” Michael was upset that she had defended those two men so quickly.
Particularly, that Luacs. Michael was also a man, and it was apparent that he saw the boy’s love for her.
Why would Michael need some other men to protect his woman?
It was not easy for Elena to calm down, but Eldest Young Master Williams’s words had hurt her yet again.
She said coldly, “Yes, I may not be able to do anything, but even if I can’t, I won’t let you hurt them!”
“Are you trying to provoke me again?” He could tolerate a lot of things, but she had tested his patience when she mentioned their names over and over again!
“Elena, don’t test my patience again!”
“I don’t need you to be patient with me. Our relationship is based on an agreement!”
Michael was immediately annoyed when he heard the phrase ‘based on an agreement.’
He stared at her stubborn face with a frosty gaze.
“Well, since you clearly remember the agreement between us, you should know your place. If you dare to ruin my reputation in public by doing anything with them, I will not only lay my hands on them-I will destroy them!”
It was clearly an uphill battle if one wanted to talk some sense into that woman!
Since her hands seemed to be fine, there was no need for him to stay there.
Michael turned around to leave the room, but a pillow had suddenly attacked his back.
It was not painful, but it did some damage to his pride.
“Elena, you don’t know what’s good for you!” He had already pampered her enough!
“Michael, you can insult me, but you cannot insult my friends!”
It dawned on her that he had believed those rumors about how Luacs and her had fooled around with each other.
If Eldest Young Master Williams wanted to act out against someone, he would do it on a whim because he would not need an excuse to do it!
He was already a barbaric and overbearing person anyway!
Michael stepped out of the room with a long face.
Then the door slammed shut with a bang. There was a click, and then the door was locked.
Michael’s upset face became even more sullen at that point. It was as if there were clouds on his face.
Levi had hidden somewhere nearby as he had not worked up the courage to leave.
Levi’s heart clenched when he heard their quarrel, and as he saw Eldest Young Master exit the room with a sunken look.
That was the first time that he had seen Eldest Young Master quarrel with another person. He was never one to fight with anyone.
An upset Eldest Young Master might annihilate a person immediately!
“Well, why don’t… Why don’t I get someone to send those two farts out of the country, so that they won’t ever come back?”
It was those two boys who irked the young master. It would be better if they were removed from his sight.
“Eldest Young Master, I’ll… Tonight …”
“FUCK OFF!”
Levi watched Eldest Young Master as he headed straight into a room nearby. He slammed the door shut as Levi blinked his eyes dejectedly.
Did he get those troubles because his luck had finally run out that night?
All he wanted to do was to keep Eldest Young Master Williams happy. However, why did it seem as if his suggestions upset the young master even further?
He stood in the middle of the walkway as he glanced back and forth between those two rooms. He felt only reluctance in his heart.
Would it help if he explained to the young madam that the eldest young master could not act against the person behind the incident?
Furthermore, the eldest young master was completely unaware of the situation before it happened.
Would the young madam… Would she believe him?
