Rachel arrived at the police office early in the morning, dressed in a chic business attire, with a determined look on her face. As she approached the entrance, a uniformed officer stopped her, asking for her business there. She explained that she was there to inquire about her father’s case and was directed to the Chief officer.
As she walked through the halls of the police station, her nerves began to build. She wasn’t sure if this was the right decision, but her need to know the truth about her father’s death pushed her forward. She was directed to a small, cluttered office with a desk and two chairs in front of it. The Chief officer sat behind the desk, with a stern look on his face.
“Good morning, may I help you?” the Chief asked, without looking up from the papers on his desk.
“Yes, I am Rachel, and I am here to inquire about my father’s case,” she replied, her voice trembling slightly.
The Chief looked up at her and frowned, “What case?”
“My father’s death, it was ruled as a suicide,” Rachel explained, her voice becoming stronger.
The Chief leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable. “Miss, that information is classified,” he said flatly.
“What do you mean classified? I am his daughter, I have the right to know what happened to him,” Rachel replied, her voice rising in frustration.
The Chief sighed, “Miss, I understand your concern, but sometimes, it’s better to let sleeping dogs lie.”
Rachel’s eyes widened, “What are you trying to say?”
The Chief leaned forward, his voice low, “I am saying that you should stop looking for answers that may harm you in the end. Your father’s case is closed, and it’s best if you move on.”
Rachel’s heart raced, she could sense that the Chief was hiding something. “What are you hiding?” she asked, her voice shaking.
The Chief stood up, his expression stern, “Miss, I suggest you leave and forget about this case. I won’t warn you again.”
Rachel’s mind raced, she couldn’t just give up, not after getting this close to finding out the truth. She left the office, feeling more confused and determined than ever to uncover the truth about her father’s death. The conversation with the Chief only made her more curious, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something wrong somewhere, something very, very bad.

As Rachel left the police station, her mind was racing. She felt shaken and scared, not only by the man’s cold demeanor, but also by the information he refused to share with her. The look on his face said it all – he was hiding something. She felt her curiosity growing and her determination to uncover the truth growing stronger, but she also felt a sense of fear creeping in. What if the truth was something she couldn’t handle?
She called an Uber and went to work, trying to focus on her job, but she was finding it difficult. Her thoughts kept drifting back to the conversation at the police station and she couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. She made mistakes in her work, which was unlike her.
Leo noticed her state and approached her, concerned. “Rachel, are you okay? You seem distracted today.”
Rachel forced a smile, “I’m fine, Leo. Just feeling a bit under the weather today.”
William noticed her state as well and voiced his concerns, “Rachel, are you sure you’re okay? You seem off.”
Rachel tried to brush it off, “I’ll be fine, William. I just need a good night’s sleep.”
William nodded, but he could tell that there was something else bothering her. He didn’t push the matter further, but he made a mental note to check in on her later.
The rest of the day, Rachel tried to focus on her work, but her mind kept drifting. She felt like she was walking around in a fog, unable to shake the feeling of unease. It was a long and grueling day, but she finally made it through.
As she left the office and stepped into the evening air, she took a deep breath and let out a sigh. She knew she needed to focus on finding answers, but she was scared of what she might uncover.
The next day, Rachel went to work, but she was still deeply troubled by the encounter at the police station. Her mind was preoccupied with thoughts of what she had learned and what it might mean. As she was walking down the hall, lost in thought, she accidentally bumped into someone.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Rachel stammered, flustered.
“It’s alright,” the person replied, with a kind smile.
Rachel nodded and quickly moved on, eager to reach the safety of her office. Leo was watching her strange behavior and could tell that something was off. He decided to check in on her.
“Hey, is everything okay?” Leo asked as he walks into her office.
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” Rachel says, forcing a smile.
“Don’t give me that,” Leo says, scolding her. “What’s really going on?”
Rachel takes a deep breath and decides to open up to Leo. She tells him about her visit to the police station and the strange encounter with the Chief officer. Leo listens intently, and his concern is palpable.
“I’m here for you,” Leo says, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. “I’ll look into it. You don’t have to go through this alone.”
Leo watched as Rachel briefly thanked him and made her way back to her work station. He knew she was still grappling with the information she had received at the police station, but he was glad that she had opened up to him. He nodded at her and made his way out of the office, but his thoughts were still on Rachel and the trouble she seemed to be in.
She was beginning to trust him and that meant a lot to him. He had been worried when his men had told him she had gone to the police station and the look of worry on her face when she came out had made him want to pull some strings to find out what was going on. But he knew that she needed to trust him, and so he held back.
He thought about the next steps he needed to take. He was determined to find out what was going on and put a stop to it. He was a powerful man, and he had the resources to get to the bottom of this. He would start by having a quiet word with his men and seeing what they could dig up.
Leo dials the number of one of his trusted agents, who was a specialist in gathering information. The phone rang a few times before the agent picked up.
“Hey Leo, what’s up?” the agent answered.
“I need you to do some digging for me,” Leo said, his tone serious. “I need you to find out all you can about a man, a Mr. Thomas Mitchell. He passed away in an accident.”
“Okay, I’m on it,” the agent replied, taking note of the details. “Do you have anything else to add?”
“No, that’s all I have for now. Just find out everything you can, especially if there’s anything suspicious about his accident,” Leo instructed.
“Got it, I’ll keep you updated,” the agent said, before hanging up the phone.
Leo leaned back in his chair, his mind racing. He was determined to get to the bottom of this for Rachel’s sake. He knew that she was going through a tough time and he wanted to help her in any way he could.
