“But what are we going to do about it?”
“I almost had something on her last time, and then my untalented son got in the way. I’m holding a grudge just thinking about it.”
“Really? What did you have on her?”
Richard told Freya exactly what had happened that night, and Freya was deep in thought as she listened, having an idea quietly in her mind.
“Richard, don’t be angry. In fact, you can still get the goods on her entirely.”
Richard was stunned and shook his head, “There’s no way. She won’t fall for it again after falling for it once.”
“It’s not for you to repeat your storyline, but …”
Freya leaned forward and gave him an idea.
“Is this okay?”
“Why not? Kevin didn’t look for you after what happened last time, did he?”
“No.”
“That’s right. That means she’s afraid that Kevin will misunderstand and doesn’t dare to tell you about it at all. You just have to do what I say, and you’ll definitely get something unexpected.”
Richard thought, “Okay, then it’s settled. I’ll ask her out later and call you in the evening.”
After exchanging numbers, they left the cafe one after the other.
Freya had never thought that Conrad had been sitting behind her while she was discussing the shady countermeasures with Richard, but they who were chatting opportunistically didn’t notice him.
When Richard left the cafe, he arrived in front of the Cloud Mansion, handed a letter to the guard, and asked her to pass it on to Bella before quickly leaving.
When Bella opened the letter, there were only a few words on it, “Your uncle is in trouble. If you want to know the specific details, please go to the Vincent tea house on Solomon Street.”
She felt very confused and couldn’t remember who the person who delivered the letter was. But her uncle had been unreachable for two months. She was inevitably a little worried, but still hurried there.
Richard sat in the tea house confidently waiting for Bella to take the bait. He took a recording pen from his bosom, smiled insidiously, and stuck the pen on his pocket.
At this moment, he didn’t notice that there was a person gawking at him from across the tea house.
And that person was Conrad, who had been following Richard here since he came out of the cafe.
When Bella arrived at the tea house, Conrad, who was sitting on the second floor, actually saw her, didn’t stop her from going in.
Standing in the center of the tea house, Bella quickly looked around, and when she saw Richard who was smiling at her, she turned around and was about to leave. Richard stood up, “Bella, don’t you want to know where your uncle is now?”
She stopped abruptly, and even though she didn’t want to see this person, she turned back for the sake of her uncle.
As soon as she took her seat, the sound of a text message came from her phone. She took it out and looked at it, which showed only eight words, “This person is deceitful. Answer with caution.”
Bella was shocked and looked up out of the window, and she met with Conrad’s eyes. She quickly stuffed the phone into her pocket.
“Where is my uncle?”
Richard smiled, “I’ll tell you more about your uncle’s situation, but before we talk about your uncle, are we going to talk about what happened that night?”
“What happened that night?”
Bella already knew there was a trap, so she started to play dumb.
“You fulfill your conjugal duties with my son that night.”
Bella slapped the table, “Richard, please watch your mouth. I have never fulfilled the conjugal bond with your son.”
Richard was startled, obviously not expecting that Bella would deny it.
“The memory of young people is not good. Didn’t you have intimate relations with my son the night you sent him back?”
“If you insult me again, do you believe I’ll sue you for violating my character?”
“Well, don’t you pretend? I have proof.”
“Well then, you show the evidence.”
Richard’s face fell, “The evidence has already been destroyed by you ordering my stupid son. But facts are facts. What has already happened will not be erased even if there’s no evidence.”
He tried to anger Bella by leading her to admit that she shared a bed with his son that night. No matter what the outcome was, it was enough for her to admit that. Because people will fall into a reverie that sharing a bed was the same as already having intimate relations.
“It’s a small trick.”
Bella looked at him coldly, and suddenly laughed sarcastically.
“What are you laughing at?”
Richard’s heart thudded with a very bad feeling.
“I’m laughing at your stupidity.”
Bella reached out and pulled off the tape recorder stuck in his chest, “This thing has already been used by someone else. Do you think I’m stupid enough to fall for your trick?”
In fact, even if Conrad didn’t send that text message to her, the moment she sat down, she discovered Richard’s plot.
She was aware of Richard’s plot, annoyed, stood up and was about to leave, but spoke once again, “Richard Cotton, this is my last warning to you. If you stop, I will not pursue the past with you for the sake of Braxton, but if you are stubborn and don’t change, then don’t blame me for being rude.”
This was the first time that Bella didn’t call Richard uncle anymore but called him by his name. Richard was so angry that he gnashed and said, “Don’t forget I have helped you when you were in the most difficult time.”
“Yes, you helped me. If my mother hadn’t died at that time, I would have been grateful to you. Unfortunately, my mother is dead, so your kindness to me ends here. Don’t think that I’m not cruel,. I can even send my own father to prison, let alone someone like you who has no blood relationship with me!”
Richard left in a mess, and Bella stared at the clear tea in her hand, agreeing with what Kevin had told her that when others didn’t care about your feelings, you didn’t have to care about theirs anymore.
She was thinking for a moment, then suddenly lifted her head up and looked askance at the tea house across the street, but found that Conrad had already left at some point.
For three days, Conrad did not go to Freya. On the fourth day, he came to the door of Freya’s apartment. Freya was very happy to see him. She took his hand and asked, “Conrad, where have you been? Why didn’t I see you? ”
“You’re so preoccupied with Kevin right now. It shouldn’t matter if you see me or not.”
Conrad coldly shook off her hand.
Freya was stunned, surprised by his cold attitude, “What’s wrong with you?”
“I should have asked you that.”
Conrad’s words made Freya even more baffled, “What do you want to ask me?”
“What’s wrong with you? Why did you become a stranger to me? Must you do everything in your power to win back a loved one you’ve already lost if you can’t be generous with your blessings?”
Freya’s eyes were dim, “You don’t have to meddle in my affairs.”
“If you were a meaningless person to me, I would never care about your affairs. But now it seems that even if I wanted to mind your business, I couldn’t.”
Conrad didn’t hide his loss, “Even if I poured out my heart to you, you’d rather throw it on the ground than give it a look.”
“Conrad, you’re second only to your cousin to me, so don’t make yourself sound so humble, okay?”
“Is there love?”
He asked sarcastically, “Is there any other emotion other than when you’re sad and helpless, and when you think of me as your only support?”
Freya was silent.
“Freya, stop this. Stop making me more and more disappointed in you and get out of here with me …”
“I’m sorry, Conrad. Even if I make you sad and disappointed, I won’t leave with you again. I already made the mistake of leaving three years ago, so I won’t make the same mistake again. So even if I die, I’ll die here.”
“It’s not the same mistake, but it’s the wisest choice. If you don’t leave now, it would be a serious mistake. What on earth do I have to do to make you conscious of it?”
Conrad angrily growled in a low voice.
“I’m very sober and you don’t need to do anything. I’m also very sober. If you don’t support me, then don’t interfere with me.”
Freya’s paranoid attitude made Conrad very sad. He got up and prepared to leave, but he inadvertently skimmed over a box of medicine on the coffee table and casually brought it over to take a look. His face instantly fell, “What is this?”
He shakily questioned the woman standing by the window.
“It’s nothing.”
Freya scrambled forward to snatch the medicine from his hand with a panicked gallop, her eyes flashing as she explained, “I have a bit of a cold.”
“Freya!”
Conrad finally couldn’t take it anymore, “Have you always treated me like a fool? You take Clomiphene for the flu? Do you think I didn’t see that it says ovulation aids? What the hell do you want again?”
“Why are you being so annoying about my business when I told you to stay out of it? You’re not any of my people. I don’t need to explain that much to you!”
Conrad finally despaired. He nodded, “Good, from now on, I will not care about your business. But as a friend for many years, I sincerely advise you to stop it yourself. If you don’t pull back before it is too late but still go on your own way, one day you will have nothing, and you’ll lose your dignity, your relatives, your friends and everything you have now, including me. ”
After Conrad’s warning, he resolutely left, and after standing for a moment, Freya stood for a moment, bursting into hysterical cries and slumped to the floor …
Tonight was a night with perfect conjugal bliss, and Bella rested her chin with both hands, staring blankly at the starry sky.
When Kevin returned home from his dinner party, he didn’t see his wife. So he couldn’t help but wonder and took out his cell phone to dial her number.
“Where is it?”
“At Home …”
“Then how come I didn’t see you?”
“I’m not finished. I’m in the back garden.”
He immediately hung up the phone and stomped down the stairs, running over towards the back garden.
In the midst of a rich fragrance of flowers, Bella sat on the steps with a flourish, and Kevin smiled as he walked over to her and bent down to ask her, “Why did you come here?”
“Enjoy the moon.”
She replied calmly.
Kevin sat next to her and lifted his head, “Where can’t you appreciate the moon? Why did you have to come to this place with the mosquitoes biting you to death?”
“Can I still talk to you if I’m bitten to death?”
He smiled and reached out to hugged her shoulders, “What’s on your mind? Say it.”
Bella shrugged, “Nothing. How can I have something on my mind every day?” Gloomily lowering her head, she fiddled with the pot of lithops at her feet.
Kevin cupped her face, “Well, you obviously have something on your mind. But you’re still stubborn, it seems like I have to lure you to say it.”
He didn’t wait for her to react, and she was kissed hard. Her whole person fell down, and Kevin promptly stretched out his arm to hug her. Bella only felt pressure on her chest, was choking and almost can’t breathe, but the pressure on her lips didn’t reduce. That person kissing her inserted his fingers into her hair, and kissed slowly and lovingly.
With such a romantic moonlight setting, Bella was losing herself a little, all the sensations lingering between her lips and teeth.
“Bella, shall we go back to the house?”
Kevin breathlessly suggested and restlessly touched her body several times. Bella’s face was flushed bright red. She did not have time to answer, only to hear a scream. They were so shocked that they quickly let go of each other, looked over, and found that it was sister-in-law Lena.
“Brother! Sister-in-law! Can’t you guys make out in your own room? Do you have to come outside and affect the cityscape? And you went into my territory!”
Kevin was helpless, “What’s your territory?”
“Where you’re sitting now is my territory, and I planted all these flowers and grasses!”
Bella had been so embarrassed that she couldn’t wait to find a hole in the ground to hide, and explained awkwardly, “Lena, I’m sorry. Your brother is a bit drunk.”
“I’m not drunk.”
Kevin ignored it and interjected.
She twisted him and whispered, “No one will take you for a mute if you don’t speak …”
“I can’t stand you guys. Why do you always put me through this? I’m gonna be crazy. I just don’t want to live …”
Lena covered her face in annoyance and ran away. Bella angrily blamed Kevin, “It’s all your fault.”
“Who knew this girl would run here in the middle of the night without sleeping?”
They stared at each other, and thirty seconds later, they both giggled.
“What did we just say?” Kevin asked.
“We didn’t say anything. You were kissing me.”
“What about before I kissed you?”
“I don’t remember.”
“…”
Bella leaned into Kevin’s arms and said leisurely, “Kevin, can I ask you a question?”
“Well, what’s the problem?”
“Did you used to name all your children when you were in love with Freya?”
Kevin’s body suddenly stiffened and said angrily, “Why do you mention this?”
“It’s just a casual question. Is it truly right?”
“I don’t remember. It’s been too long.”
He didn’t want to talk about it, but he was surprised, “Who did you hear that from?”
“Who else would I hear it from? It’s Freya.”
“Did she approach you?”
“Yeah.”
“Didn’t she say anything else?”
Bella looked up, “What else is there?”
