Chapter 66 Hidden Secrets(4)

“Mr. Jones-Sharps, welcome.”
A fat man eagerly approached them, extending his fat hand to shake with Kevin. Obviously he was the organizer of this reception, and a heavyweight judged by his dress and demeanor.
“This is Mrs. Jones-Sharps, right?”
“Yes, hello.”
Bella politely extended her hand, and was secretly relieved that he didn’t address her the seventh wife, otherwise she would be embarrassed.
After greeting each other, the fat man chatted with Kevin about business. Bella was bored with listening, so she found a quiet place by herself to sit down, drinking champagne while observing all kinds of people at the cocktail party.
In the dense crowd, she skimmed a glimpse of stern eyes of a jealous woman.
Thinking that although Kevin was notorious, he also had lots of admirers. She consciously looked away, so as not to start an argument.
Just what she didn’t expect was that the woman slowly walked towards her as she looked away.
“What’s up?”
She tilted her chin up, barely calmed down, and asked.
“Don’t you know to stand up when you speak to your seniors?”
“Seniors?” She frowned, “I don’t think I know you, do I?”
The woman snorted, “Even if you don’t know me, you should stand up out of courtesy and ask ‘Who are you?’ instead of the impolite question ‘What can I do for you.'”
Bella snorted. She was going to pick a quarrel with Bella. Bella still didn’t stand up, “If you think you’re at a disadvantage if I sit, then you can sit down too. There’s still room for you in such a big place.”
“Well, you are still smart-tongued. No wonder recently everyone is rumored that Kevin has met his nemesis. Originally I didn’t believe it, but this time I witness with my own eyes, so I have to believe it.”
She really was directed at Kevin. Bella was unlucky.
“Miss, you are mistaken, I’m not Kevin’s nemesis. To be precise, I’m the terminator of his flash marriage.”
“Shame on you.”
The woman suddenly became ferocious, gnashing her teeth, “No woman can end Kevin’s marriage. Don’t think you have a good look, then turn up your noses at me. Didn’t your mother teach you that you should be polite?”
“And did your mother teach you? If your mother had taught you, you wouldn’t have come running to me for no reason!”
The woman threw half a glass of champagne onto Bella’s face, and after a brief shock, Bella also did not show any weakness in fighting back, throwing champagne onto the woman’s face.
The woman may be never suffered such humiliation, reached out to slap Bella, but was firmly grabbed by someone. She angrily turned around, and was suddenly stunned —.
“Kevin…”
“Brittany, you dare to hit my woman. Are you tired of living, aren’t you?”
Only then did Bella realize that this arrogant woman’s name was Brittany, but she still didn’t know her.
“Kevin, she’s your woman. What about me? Do you know how she talks to me?”
“No matter how she talks to you, you deserve it. Now get out of my sight right now. I don’t want to see you for a second.”
Brittany couldn’t stand such grievances and blows. She suddenly wailed, “At any rate, I’m also your ex-wife. We still have affection though we divorce. How can you be so heartless to me …”
“I don’t feel any affection with you.”
Kevin mercilessly rebuffed her.
“And what’s so good about this woman? Is it prettier than me? Is she more capable than me? Is she kinder than me?”
“She’s prettier, more capable and kinder than you, and more importantly, she’s smarter than you. If she were you today, she would never bother you like a shrew. Because she knows that it would only make me more annoying, and you’re a stupid woman, playing the shrew and still talking about love with me. It’s ridiculous.”
Brittany suffered an even more serious blow, but also an even more serious humiliation. She took a glance at the crowd of onlookers, shamefully covered her face and ran away furiously. Her parting look of hatred made Bella shudder.
The cocktail party scene made such a dramatic scene. Kevin also had no mood to stay. He leaned over and whispered to ask Bella beside him, “Do you want to go home?”
Bella nodded heavily, “Yes.”
On the way back, Bella was silent, and Kevin glanced at her from time to time, “If you have any grievances, just say it.”
“The first few?”
He was startled, “What first few?”
“Isn’t that woman your ex-wife? How many ex-wives is she?”
“The third, oh no, the fourth.”
Bella’s face fell, “This is going to happen a lot more often from now on, isn’t it?” After all, he had six wives before her, which meant that she, in addition to Brittany, had five enemies she’d never met before.
“Not anymore.”
“Why are you sure?”
“Of the several wives, only Brittany is the most unreasonable, so she’s also the only woman I’ve ever slapped.”
Bella was relieved when she heard him say that, and depending on her current situation, dealing with Gillian would be annoying. It was better that no other enemies appeared.
When Bella arrived at the Cloud Mansion, she got off the bus. Bella’s phone rang. She glanced at the number and saw that it was from Richard, so she said nervously, “You go in first. I’ll take a call.”
Kevin then took the lead and walked to the villa. Bella found a hidden place to answer, “Hello?”
“Bella, if you’re convenient now, come out and meet me.”
“Have you come to B City again?”
“Yeah.”
She pinched her brow irritably, “I can’t go right now. You can talk on the phone if you need anything.”
“Is it really inconvenient?”
“Yes…”
“I guess so, so I came to you of my own accord. Come on out.”
She was startled, “Where are you?”
“I’m right outside your front door.”
Bella hung up the phone in a hurry and panic, then ran towards the direction of the gate. She just now inadvertently seemed to see a familiar figure, and thought it was an illusion. But it turned out to be real.
When she reached the gate, she looked around and saw the ghostly figure of Richard in a dense thicket of flowers.
“Richard, why are you here at this late hour?”
She questioned quite unpleasantly.
Richard said gloomily, “Braxton is sick and has been crying to see you. What are you going to do?”
She had understood what Richard was seeking her for and asked depressingly, “So did you bring him a doctor?”
“It’s not helping. The doctor said he should seek his salve where he gets his sore.”
“I’m going back this weekend to see him.”
“Are you not going to stay?”
Richard was aggressive.
“I haven’t been dealt with something here yet, and when it’s done…”
“You have ten days to deal with this. My patience has been worn out by you. This is the deadline. Don’t blame me for being unfeeling then.”
She was threatened again. Bella really wanted to vent out her anger, but she endured. It was her fate, destined for a life of bumps and bruises.
“Got it. You go back.”
She was desolated and nodded, turned around and left.
Keeping her head down, she kept walking forward until she hit Kevin. Only then did she suddenly stop and ask in panic, “Why didn’t you go in?”
Kevin pointed at Richard outside the main gate, “Did your relatives come to borrow money from you again?”
“Well, yes.”
Bella replied with sparkling eyes.
“Where is the relative from? Wilson is not a rich man, but he doesn’t have such poor relatives, right?”
“My mother’s relative.”
“Oh.”
He nodded meaningfully, “Then why don’t you lend to him?”
“He’s a gambler, and he never returns the money.”
“That always comes back to you is quite annoying. Lend it to him next time.”
“There’ll be a next time after this loan. It’ll be like a bottomless pit with no end in sight.”
“That’s true, so that next time he comes to you, you can just duck out and let me negotiate with him.”
Bella gasped, “No no no. I can handle it myself.”
Being threatened by two people at the same time, one giving her a week’s time and the other giving her ten days, Bella had a hard time and was almost about to snap.
She couldn’t even sleep in her room, so she simply crawled up and went to Kevin’s room, preparing to talk to him bravely.
Seeing that she mumbled and seemed to have something to say, Kevin casually patted the seat beside her, “Sit down and say what you have to say.”
Bella sat down, her hands around her chest at a loss, and summoned the courage to ask, “Can’t you really like me?”
Kevin was suddenly stunned, and embarrassed, “Why did you think of asking this again?”
“I want to ask every moment.”
Kevin was distressed to hear her words, but couldn’t answer. In his heart, even though Bella was strong, she also had moments of vulnerability. He really couldn’t bear to see her look sad.
Bella was such a smart woman, and noticed Kevin’s distress. She smiled bitterly, “Forget it, since it is so difficult to answer, then you don’t answer.”
Gloomily getting up, she bit her lip and went back to her room. The moment the door closed, she burst into tears.
If her mother were alive, how disappointed she would be to see her so useless. Her mother would be even more disappointed than she was now.
