Kevin chuckled, looking askance at her, “Do you think it’s possible?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Then why do you ask that?”
Bella looked down, “I can’t think of any other reason. I’m used to being bullied by you, so I think there must be a reason for you being so nice to me all of a sudden.”
“Didn’t I tell you last time that I would treat you well? I don’t think I’ve been bullying you all this time, have I?”
“I almost didn’t get screwed by you last night in the pool.”
Kevin grinned again, “That’s just a joke. If I really wanted to screw you over, you would have died countless times.”
Bella completely believed it.
“By the way, why do you suffer from claustrophobia?”
Bella’s eyelashes flickered, “Are you curious about me too? It’s like something you’d do.”
“And is helping you get over your fear of taking the lift like something I would do?” Kevin asked rhetorically.
She shook her head, “It’s not like that either.”
“It means you don’t know me. There’s only what I want to do or not do.”
“I don’t understand why you are good to me at times and bad to me at others.”
Bella shrugged, taking a piece of the tart and taking a bite.
“It’s pretty tasty. I don’t even eat them before.”
“Why?”
“I am not crazy about foreign things.”
Kevin giggled, “You answered my question yet.”
“What question?”
Bella played dumb.
“Why are you claustrophobic?”
“I naturally born with it.”
“How is that possible? How could anyone be born with such a strange disease?”
“Why else do you think? Not everyone has a reason like you do. You’re hit because of disappointed in a love affair, and I haven’t even been in love yet.”
When it came to Kevin’s pain, he stopped talking, and they were silent for a while.
When he was almost at the toll booth, Kevin tossed his wallet to her, “Take the money out.”
Bella took two hundred dollars, and when she closed the wallet, she glanced at Kevin’s ID card, “Hey, when was this photo taken? You look green and handsome”
“You mean, I’m hoary and old now, right?”
“That’s not true. You look mature now, and the picture looks like one of those middle students I teach.”
She scrutinized it for a moment longer, then suddenly asked, “Hey, what about your birthday coming up?”
Kevin’s face fell, “Have you seen enough. Put it away for me.”
Bella curled her lip, closed his wallet and continued to ask him, “What do you want for your birthday? I’ll buy it for you.”
“No, I’m not celebrating my birthday.”
Why was he crazy again? She was given a cold shoulder, but she didn’t say anything to offend him…
In the evening, finally arrived at the B city, they one after the other got into the home. Blanche pulled her hand and cared for her, but ignored him.
So Bella speculated if he was distant and removed with his mother. Could it be that he was not Blanche’s son? She thought of him as being as tragic as he was… He must be a bastard his father had with another woman outside…
After dinner, Bella was chatting with her in-laws in the living room. Lena was back and roared with arms akimbo, “Where is my brother?”
Stunned by her, Bella pointed woodenly upstairs, “He should be working in the study. What’s wrong?”
“I’ll talk to you later!”
Lena ran up the stairs angrily.
“I’m going up to see what’s going on.”
Bella was worried and wanted to follow, but her in-laws were not surprised and waved, “It’s not a big deal.”
“That’s right. You go on.”
Lena rushed upstairs, kicked open the study door, and cried out, “Kevin, how could you do this to me?!”
Kevin was also shocked and got up and said, “What did I do to you?”
“You didn’t take Alvin with you on this trip. Did you sent him on a blind date, didn’t you?”
“Who did you hear that from?”
“Forget it. You just tell me.”
Kevin caressed his forehead and sighed, “Yes, but…”
“How could you! Don’t you know I like him? And you still let him go on a blind date!”
Lena sat on the ground and cried even harder.
“You listen to me. There’s a reason why I made him go on a blind date. It’s a means of competition in the mall, as well as a strategy.”
Lena scolded him harder, “You’re too much. Alvin didn’t do things wrong. At the age of eighteen, he followed to work for you. He has always done his duty to do what you order, and now you let him sacrifice his charm. You are really heartless. ”
Kevin was annoyed by her, patiently explaining, “It’s not for him to sacrifice his lust. It’s just to use the blind date as a way to smoothly sign the contract.”
“Then it’s the case. Isn’t Alvin is forced to do it because he is handsome?”
“Yes, Alvin is more handsome than me, otherwise I would have done it myself.”
“Cut it out, you’re just bullying Alvin who has no father or mother. He will have no support without you. I’m telling you, from now on I’m Alvin’s support. If you bully him, this will not be over!”
Lena got up and ran outside, bumping into Bella who was just about to enter the study room. Bella took her by the shoulders and asked, “What’s going on here? Why are you crying?”
As soon as Lena saw her dear and respectable sister-in-law, Lena wiped her tears bitterly and said seriously, “Bella, how could you marry my brother? You hurry up and get a divorce. He is too rude…”
Bella was shocked, and after Lena ran away, she cryptically asked Kevin, “What’s wrong with her?”
“She heard about Alvin going on a blind date and vented her anger on me.”
“Did you order him?”
“It’s not a real blind date, but just a business tactic. You wouldn’t understand.”
“So why not going to coax her again?”
“It’s fine. She’s crying hard right now. It won’t take her a night to forget the unhappiness.”
Bella smiled shallowly, “It is quite good. There will never be any troubles.”
“Do you envy her?”
Kevin asked meaningfully.
“A little.”
His arms were around his chest and he said, “Why do you always give me a feeling of being laden with anxiety and unhappy.”
Bella looked sad but smiled faintly, “Can I be happy? I married a man who’s been divorced six times and coldly treats me and bullies me all day long. It’s good that I’m not threatening to kill myself like Lena.”
“You’ve finally admitted that I snubbed you.”
She grunted, “It’s the truth. I never denied it.”
Kevin looked at the watch on his wrist, “It’s still early. Why don’t I take you out for a walk?”
“Are you guilty?”
“It’s fine if you want to think so.”
Bella tilted her chin up proudly, “Then I’ll give you a chance to turn over a new leaf.”
They went downstairs together, and Blanche asked in confusion, “Are you going out?”
“Yes, mom, we’re going for a walk.”
“Good.”
Blanche nodded cheerfully, and after they had all stepped out, she said to Patrick, “See, that high priest in King Hills is so powerful. Bella has got a hold on Kevin.”
Patrick didn’t think so. He said seriously, “Don’t be too hopeful. The damage that Freya caused is not so easily healed. s long as the wound doesn’t disappear, he won’t be able to accept a new relationship.”
“What’s there to be afraid of with Bella. We’ll wait until the deep wound disappear.”
“I’m only afraid that the wound will disappear, but the feeling is still there. Kevin’s greatest strength. also his greatest weakness is that he is too devoted. You know how deeply he was in love with Freya.”
Bella and Kevin came to B City’s only sea. It was more passionate at night than during the day. The waves hit the rocks, splashing. The sea breeze blew on their faces, and they felt a little cold, salty and wet.
Kevin found an open space to sit down, unscrewed a bottle of drink and handed it to her, “From now on, you drink this.”
Bella was a little confused, “What do you mean?”
“Don’t drink wine anymore.”
She blushed slightly, thinking of the words that was recorded by Kevin last night when she was drunk, and nodded sharply, “Okay. I quit drinking.”
“I haven’t been to the beach in a long time, at least at night.”
Kevin looked straight ahead seriously.
“Why? Are you afraid of ghosts?”
He glared at her, “I love ghosts the most. So there would be so full of rumors that I’m the devil.”
She laughed, “That’s true.”
“Lay down, and you can see a lot of stars.”
Bella was the first to lie down on the beach, then patted the spot beside her.
Kevin also lay over, resting his hands on his head, and said languidly, “Looking at the stars is women’s hobby. Men will be considered gay if they look at that stuff.”
“That’s not true. When I first arrived at your house, you didn’t look at the stars and I thought you were gay.”
