Bella came down from upstairs with a big bag of stuff, and Kevin picked it up for her with a grimace, then walked straight towards the Rolls Royce parked outside, opened the trunk and threw the stuff in.
Wilson and his wife said goodbye to Bella hypocritically, and Gillian did not go out to see her off because her feeling had been badly hurt.
It was only after some more pleasantries and fawning, until the car started that Bella finally got rid of those hypocritical faces. This time she went back home because of Kevin’s cooperation, it was considered a complete success. She breathed a long sigh of relief, and looked at the man beside her, sincerely said, “Thank you.”
Kevin did not respond. Bella could not help but wonder. She had just noticed that from when he was picking up the luggage, he looked particularly cold.
“Why don’t you say anything?”
He braked sharply to the side of the road. Kevin turned sideways and grimly questioned her, “Why didn’t you explicitly state your origins when I was picking out my wife?”
Bella’s heart jumped and asked in confusion, “What happened to my origins?”
“Even though I have been divorced six times, I’m not so contented as to marry an illegitimate daughter, especially of a dancer. Your stepmother is so distressed that she asked you to replace your sister. What does she take our Jones-Sharps for? Goodwill charities?”
For a full minute, Bella couldn’t say a word. The three words of an illegitimate daughter were like a sharp blade, mercilessly making her heartbroken.
All these years, she thought she was unfeeling, but it turned out that she still felt pain.
“Yes, I’m the child of Wilson and a dancer, but I don’t find it a shame. Only two kinds of people would mention their status as an illegitimate daughter at every turn. One is inferior and the other is trying to gain sympathy, and the reason I don’t mention it is because I’m not either of the above.”
“Then what kind of person are you?” Kevin stepped forward, Bella didn’t want to judge herself too much, so she kept silent. When she didn’t speak, he smirked, “Let me answer for you. You are the most narcissistic person under the heavens.”
“Yes, I am narcissistic. I thought you needed a wife who could stop you playing life as a game. It doesn’t matter what status she has. It seems that I was wrong.”
Bella said and stubbornly pushed the door open and got out of the car. It would be a lie to say that she wasn’t angry. Kevin despised her, and that was no way she could tolerate that.
After taking a few steps, her arm was pulled by him, whose hand was a good-looking but not warm hand, “Get in the car.”
He commanded her, making her more indignant and throw off his hand, “Even if I have nothing left, I will not give up my dignity.”
She continued to walk forward, and an icy voice came from behind her, “I only have three minutes of patience with women. Are you going to get in the car or not?”
It was clear that he wouldn’t say the same words a third time. In fact, they didn’t give even three minutes to the six wives.
Bella closed her eyes, silently said in her heart, “Mom, I’m sorry. Today, let me be self-willed for once.”
Kevin saw that she was ungrateful. He turned around and got into the car, slammed the door, started the engine and left…
When he got home, he went into the living room with a gloomy face. His mother, who was sitting on the living room sofa sipping tea, saw him and stood up sharply, asking, “Why did you come back alone? Where’s your wife?”
