As soon as Amanda walked through the door, Miller White came over and took her in.
“Don’t go anywhere for the next two days.”
Seeing Miller White’s face so composed for the first time, Amanda nodded silently, then went back to her room, changed her clothes, and came out to sit next to him.
“Is this against me?”
Amanda still felt chills all over her body, even though she had a conflict with Alice and resented her vengeance, but someone she knew was dead.
Miller White came over and embraced her, “Not sure yet, the camera over there was sabotaged, Bruce has gone to fix it, three days at most, we’ll have the results.”
He had seen so many gloomy things since he took over the White Group at sixteen, let alone this child’s play.
“Miller, I’m the one who killed her indirectly, aren’t I?”
Amanda was feeling remorseful at the moment, hating herself for making a big deal out of the launch party, but would things had been different if she had chosen a slightly more peaceful approach?
“It’s not your fault, if it were me, it would only be more excessive.”
If it was him, who dared to mess with him, must be eradicated!
In the middle of the night, Miller White finally lulled Amanda to bed and gently made his way out of the bedroom, sitting in the study as if pondering something.
“Hey, brother! I don’t know what’s going on online. It actually implicates Amanda! ”
“Well.”
Miller White didn’t seem surprised at all to get a call from Bruce.
“Brother, did you already know?”
“I guess so.”
Even though knew his brother was afraid of influencing his judgment, Bruce White couldn’t help but complain, “Brother, if you’d said so earlier, I wouldn’t have to be at the office in the middle of the night!”
There was a busy tone, and Miller white hung up
“Sh*t…”
Amanda woke up and saw an unexpected person in the living room.
“Bette, when did you get here? Why didn’t you call me?”
Bette looked at the man sitting on the sofa reading the newspaper, inwardly cursed: your man forbid me to disturb your sleep, I’ve been sitting here for two hours!
In fact, if it was anyone else sitting here, Bette could have said something regardless.
Whoever in front of her was Miller White, and she could only hold her tongue.
After seeing Amanda coming down, Bette explained the situation to her in a hurry: some people maliciously speculate that Amanda was responsible for Alice’s death because of revenge. Although there was no real evidence, people on the Internet do believe it.
“So, the company’s decision is that you should stay home for a couple of days, just as a vacation for yourself.”
“Okay, I’ll follow the company’s arrangements.” Amanda didn’t think her current mentality was suitable for her job, either.
Here, Jane waited for George to go out and then eagerly browsed the website.
When Jane saw some people throwing mud at Amanda, a satisfied smile curled and she picked up her phone and dialed.
“Finally, for once, you’re doing well!”
“Oh, was it worth that your service to me yesterday?”
At the man’s words, Jane sank for a moment, and the voices there continued.
“Do you think it’s possible that the kid in your belly is mine?”
“Shut up!” Jane hung up angrily, thinking that what the man said might be a cold sweat.
Even if George was not as good as Miller White, he was at least a member of a prestigious family, and the child in his belly must be George’s!
Jane narrowed her eyes, it had to be foolproof to face George’s father at the cocktail party the day after tomorrow!
With that in mind, she picked up the keys from her desk and went out, driving to the hospital…
