Chapter 437 Don’t Fancy Sleeping with a Drunk Woman

Despite having prior mental preparedness, hearing Leonardo’s words still saddened her. Even so, she quickly calmed down.
“Rosie’s sleeping. Do you want to take a look at her?” She peered at him, asking in a whisper.
He nodded.
“You guys enjoy yourself,” she said to Jessica and Carl. Then, she brought Leonardo to Rosie’s bedroom, which had been designed as a child’s bedroom with a pink theme.
Rosie was holding the pink bunny in her arms while sleeping. Her cheeks were nice and rosy.
Leonardo went over and could not help touching Rosie’s face.
As soon as he did that, Summer slapped his hand. He looked back at her and noticed that she was giving him a glare.
“What are you doing?” she asked ill-humoredly. Rosie had just fallen asleep. Was he trying to wake her up? Childish! she thought.
“Give me a break!” Leonardo slowly got to his feet and headed toward the door.
Summer followed closely and shut the door behind her as she left the room.
Outside Rosie’s bedroom, Leonardo made his way to the main door.
Summer caught up to Leonardo and stopped him. “You’re leaving now?”
“If not? You want me to stay the night?” His voice gave out nothing but distantness.
Summer choked before she smiled again as she held his hand tightly.
She raised her chin with a provocative smile on her face. “Why do you ask? You should know better.”
She stared at him in an alluring manner.
Leonardo’s pupils contracted as he squinted at her, and it seemed like he had something to say. He suddenly looked past her.
She noticed the change of focus in his eye and finally realized that there were other people in the house.
She followed his eyes and looked back, just managing to catch a glimpse of Jessica and Carl turning their heads away.
Summer’s face stiffened. Had Jessica and Carl heard their conversation?
She had been bending over backward, even to the point of lowering herself, to pester Leonardo.
However, it did not mean she was thick-skinned to the point that she did not mind others besides Leonardo see the lengths she had gone to.
She buried her face in her hands, wishing the ground would swallow her up.
Leonardo looked down at her embarrassed expression, and his eyes flashed with subtle joy.
Summer was too ashamed right then to notice the expression on Leonardo’s face.
In her extremely abashed state, she was not in the mood to mess with Leonardo. “Please eat something before you go.”
She then returned to the dining table, not bothering to see if Leonardo was following her.
Picking up the bottle of wine that Jessica had opened, she poured herself half a glass and chugged it all down.
Jessica, who was sitting across her, tried hard not to laugh as she served a dish to Summer. “Take it easy, girl. Let’s eat something first.”
Summer glared at her, and Jessica quickly looked away.
Just then, the chair next to her was pulled out. Before she knew it, Leonardo had sat down beside her.
Leonardo’s presence had to be strong because she instinctively sat upright the moment he took a seat.
Since the dining table was not large, Leonardo was just sitting an inch away from her. She could even sense his unique body scent.
Her heart fluttered, and she reached for the wine glass.
Yet, before her hand could get to it, Leonardo had taken the glass away.
She looked over at him as he placed the wine glass in a spot where it was too far for her to reach.
She stared at him with a questioning look as if saying, “What are you doing?”
“Don’t you want me to stay?” Leonardo seemed to be smiling. His expression this time was different from the usual. “I don’t fancy sleeping with a drunk woman.”
Summer was rendered speechless. It was just something she said, yet he took it so seriously?
That was not right. Leonardo had minor mysophobia, and he was principled. He would not randomly sleep with a woman. Not to mention, Leonardo had no feelings for her. Would he really be willing to stay? She was sure that he knew what she meant by “stay”. They were on the same page, so was he just calling her bluff? There was nothing wrong with it even if he knew “stay” meant sleeping together. After all, they had been husband and wife.
Summer’s mind ran wild until she heard Leonardo’s voice again.
“I guess you might like this.”
She looked down and found that Leonardo was placing a dish in her bowl. She could not help but move her eyes up, meeting his concerned look.
Right then, Carl suddenly got up. “I think it’s late now. Please enjoy yourself. We have got to go.”
While he spoke, he gave Jessica a nudge.
Apparently, Jessica was still not willing to leave, but she was pulled up from her chair.
Unable to fight Carl’s strong arm, she was forced to stand up. “We’re leaving now, Summer. Call me if anything comes up.”
It worried her to see Leonardo’s current behavior.
Carl dragged her toward the door and said, “Leonardo’s here, and he’ll help Summer if she has any problems. She doesn’t need to call you.”
His steps were quick, and Jessica had to pick up her pace to catch up to him.
“What if the big boss bullies Summer? She can call me so that I can call the police!” Jessica was not too happy.
“If she can call you, she can also call the police, don’t you think so?” he sounded testy.
“Hmm, you’re right.” Jessica nodded, realizing the fact she had overlooked.
They were both at the door now, and Carl rubbed the top of her head. “Idiot.”
“Who’s the idiot?” Jessica turned to glare at him and give him a good kick in the leg.
He sucked through his teeth in pain. As he saw Jessica’s angry look, he quickly nodded in agreement. “I’m the idiot.”
They were now outside the door, and Carl closed the door behind them.
However, Jessica stopped him, still feeling a bit worried. “Will they be okay? Will the big boss bully Summer? I’m still worried…”
While she voiced out her concerns, she reached to knock on the door.
Carl scrambled to stop her. “Don’t worry. Leonardo was just being hard on the outside. When I called him earlier, he told me he wouldn’t come, yet he’s here now.”
“He said he was here to see Rosie.”
“He can see Rosie any time he wants. Why does it have to be now? You women are dumb… Ouch!”
