Chapter 428 A Control Freak

After Summer left, Tim went to Leonardo’s reading room.
He looked around at the situation in the room, and without a word, he picked up the chair from the floor and pushed it behind Leonardo.
Leonardo sat down, his expression appearing unpleasant.
“Did you call the woman, Summer over?” His voice sounded a little grave.
Tim’s heart skipped a beat as his expression subtly changed. “Yes.”
“I don’t care what happened between her and me previously. From now on, never invite that woman to my house without my permission.” Leonardo looked up at him sternly.
Tim bit back and obliged. “Understood.”
Although he did not know what Summer had done to Leonardo earlier, judging from how angry Leonardo was, he knew he had better comply with Leonardo’s request.
He knew Leonardo well enough.
“Leave me,” Leonardo said with a pallid face.
Tim turned around and left the room. As he closed the door, he saw Leonardo pick up the chopsticks and start to eat the noodles.
It stupefied Tim that one minute Leonardo was sternly ordering him to not let Summer come without his permission, and the next, he was eating the noodles that Summer cooked.
So, should he invite Summer to Leonardo’s house or not?

When Summer reached Jessica’s house after driving there, Jessica and Rosie were enjoying a cartoon program together.
It was eleven something at night, but the two were still cackling and looking energetic.
“You’re home, Summer.” Jessica looked back at Summer when she heard the opening and closing of the door.
“You guys are still watching TV!” Summer came over and sat down beside Rosie.
“Mommy.” Rosie glanced over and greeted her on autopilot before she turned her attention back to the cartoon.
Summer forced a smile, recognizing the fact that she was not as attractive as the cartoon show.
Jessica went around Rosie to sit down next to Summer. “Rosie is easy to coax.”
“Thank you so much,” Summer whispered.
“How is the big boss?” Jessica asked.
“He’s still the young master with a hot temper despite losing his memory.” She could not help thinking about what Leonardo had done earlier.
After a brief chat with Jessica, Summer brought Rosie to bed.
It was already midnight and well past Rosie’s sleep time. She had overexerted herself by watching cartoons at midnight even though she appeared energetic.
So, Rosie fell asleep in no time.
Following that, Summer went into the bathroom to clean herself up.
She came out after a while and gazed at Rosie as she partially leaned against the headboard.
Rosie was a chip off the old block—she looked like Leonardo, especially with her eyes.
Thinking of Leonardo, Summer could not help but sigh.
Due to the numerous occurrences today, she just did not have time to respond to each of them and was forced to accept how things were between her and Leonardo.
She felt sad about what Leonardo had become, but she knew it was not the time to feel miserable.
Rosie needed her, and Leonardo needed her too.
Leonardo used to have everything arranged for her. This time, it was her turn to do the honors.
She looked down and took her mobile phone. Finding Leonardo’s number, she texted him, “Good night.”
After she sent out the message, she gazed at the mobile phone and spaced out.
After a few minutes, her mobile phone suddenly vibrated.
Her heart skipped a beat. She looked at the mobile phone nervously only to find that it was a short message from the mobile carrier.
She should take it easy, she reckoned.

Summer contacted Tim the next day and briefly told him some things about the hypnosis that he had found out from Stanley.
Tim had also told her about Kate having Leonardo hypnotized.
“She’s really gone into overdrive,” Summer said after a while of silence.
Did Kate really hate her that much?
First, she wanted Summer’s life, then she had Leonardo hypnotized to seal his memories.
Kate may not have harmed her directly, but everything Kate had done was a murder in disguise.
While Vicky openly wanted Summer dead, what Kate did was much more cunning—she aimed at Summer’s most vulnerable spot.
It was just that Kate had miscalculated.
Summer was not going to let Kate get her way, and she was determined to help Leonardo recover his memory.
“Was Kate lying? Has she really not seen Dr. Li’s face, or was it just an excuse?”
Kate was a smart woman; she was very careful no matter what she did.
She previously made sure that absolutely no one knew she had used a hypnotist to prevent Leonardo from regaining his memory.
Since she wanted to keep things a secret, how could she have let the hypnotist hypnotize Leonardo before she met the hypnotist first?
If Kate did not want things to fall through, she would have definitely devised a failsafe and held the hypnotist by the throat so that he would not double-cross her later.
Tim hesitated for a second. “I think she wasn’t lying.”
Why would Kate lie when her life was at stake?
Leonardo had wanted to strangle Kate back then, but Tim decided not to tell Summer about it after much thought.
“Okay,” Summer acknowledged, but deep inside, she decided to talk to Kate.
After she hung up, Summer looked back and noticed that Rosie as well as Jessica had woken up. They were now sitting on the couch staring at her.
“Good morning.” Summer smiled after she froze for a second.
“Good morning.” Rosie’s voice was soft and cute. She was still groggy.
“Breakfast is ready, but first, you have to brush your teeth.” Summer went over to carry Rosie into the washroom.
Rosie scurried into the dining room after she cleaned herself up.
Summer washed her hands and said, “I’m going to see Kate later.”
“What for?” Jessica sneered. “That woman is a control freak. Do you think she’ll be nice to you?”
“As if I’m going to be nice to her.” Summer smirked.
“Tsk-tsk, you seem different now, not like the Summer I used to know.” Jessica tilted her head and looked at her with derision.
“We’ve known each other for so many years, of course there’s bound to be some changes. I am now Rosie’s mom and Leonardo’s wife…” She frowned. “I almost forgot, Kate managed to get Leonardo and I divorced.”
Jessica pulled a funny face as she reached out to touch Summer’s hand. “Summer, you sound like Rosie’s dad now, which is scary.”
