Chapter 323 Too Emotional

Book:CEO's Substitute Wife Published:2024-5-1

Even when Michael was literally about to explode, Leonardo was still calm. “But I don’t feel like I’ve benefited anything from Emerson Corporation.”
Michael sneered, “Your clothes, your food, your renown, which of those did not come from the Emerson family?!”
“I can do without those, even without the Emerson family, I’m still Leonardo, and you? Without the Emerson family, who are you?” Leonardo was brutally direct, and it seemed like he was about to tear Michael apart.
“You think you’re that great?” Michael sneered as he said that. “You could try to work against Emerson Corporation.”
The entire dining room suddenly became extremely tense.
The two stared at each other, and after for a while, Leonardo hissed a sentence from his teeth: “Where is my daughter?”
“How would I know where your daughter is? Wasn’t she hidden away by you?” Michael smiled, but the smile was faint.
Leonardo’s hand under the table clenched hard, and a faint trace of madness appeared between his eyes.
In Michael’s memory, Leonardo was actually quite loveable when he was young, but after his mother passed away, the father and son had grown distant, especially in the past few years.
With Leonardo’s presence growing stronger and stronger, even though Leonardo was his biological son, he still could not see through what the former was thinking.
As such, Michael sometimes feared Leonardo.
But Leonardo had a fatal weakness; he was very emotional.
If he managed to grab onto Leonardo’s weakness, he could control him.
Michael thought of this, and his expression bore a deep meaning. “My granddaughter must be a very cute girl, remember to bring her to the Emerson’s residence to let me see her. The conflict between us has nothing to do with her.”
As he said that, he took a deep look at Leonardo as he got up and left.
The servant standing outside the dining room saw Michael come out and greeted him respectfully, “Mr. Emerson.”
The next moment, the sound of a plate smashing against the ground was heard.
It was loud and shrill.
The servant went over in a panic and saw Leonardo bowing his head, his body slightly bent with his hands on the table, his entire being reeked with an aura of violence.
There was a mess on the ground, with leftovers and broken tableware all over it. At just a glance one would know it was Leonardo who had swept all of them onto the ground.
The servant stepped forward carefully and dared not ask anything more. “Young Master Emerson, I’ll clean this up…”
Leonardo ignored her.
The servant could see that Leonardo did not have the mind to bother with her, and asked two other servants to clean the dining room.
The eyes of Leonardo’s lowered head was bloodthirsty.
The words Michael had just said, while he may be denying that he had gotten someone to take Rosie away, but that last sentence was clearly threatening him.
The hidden meaning of Michael’s words was clear as day, as long as both of them were okay, Rosie would be fine as well.
Otherwise, it would be hard to say how he would treat Rosie.
His victorious appearance was the best proof of that.
Rosie was taken away by Michael’s men, and his goal was to use Rosie to threaten Leonardo.
While his relationship with Michael was distant, they had never actually harmed each other.
What he did not expect was that Michael already had planned against Rosie.
If Michael was capable of doing such things, Leonardo was even more certain that there was something hidden in his mother’s case back then.
Similarly there was something behind the matter with Grandpa Emerson as well.
However, once things were in order, Leonardo felt that all of the “accidents” had started with that kidnapping many years back.

No one knew how Adams and Douglas persuaded Violet, that night, Violet had decided to follow them back to Hoover City the next day.
But, Leonardo was not interested in the reasons for it.
He took the red-eye flight together with Tim and flew back to Hoover City before the rest.
The moment he reached Hoover City, Leonardo directly went to look for Summer.
However, when he went over to Summer’s place, it was empty.
As she was not around, he had to give her a call.
The moment the call was connected, he directly asked, “Where are you?”
Summer had been very busy recently and had been with the film crew most of the time, and following Eliza to other teams from time to time.
When Leonardo called her, she was with Eliza at another crew spot and was returning to The Lost City filming crew.
When Summer heard him say that, she asked in surprise, “You’re back!”
The elation in her voice did not escape Leonardo’s eyes, and the gloomy haze between his eyes faded a little, as he broke into a faint smile. “Where are you? I’ll come and look for you.”
Summer looked around and ran to a corner to speak on the phone. “I’m with my crew, I’ll look for you when I get back.”
Leonardo was a famous person, and with so many people here in the studio, it was not convenient for Leonardo if he were to come over.
But Leonardo straight up ignored her suggestion and made the decision on his own. “Wait for me.”
“It’s not… HELLO?” Summer brought her phone before her and saw that Leonardo had already hung up.
On the other end, Leonardo disconnected the call and told Tim, “Go to the movie studio.”
Tim made a U-turn and drove toward the studio.

After arriving at the movie studio, Leonardo got Tim to go back first.
Emerson Summer had probably driven herself over there, and he could just hitch a ride on her car on the way back.
He had no idea where Summer was and had just waited for her near the entrance of the studio.
He stood beneath a tree by the sidewalk and sent a message to Summer. “I’m here, at the entrance.”
Summer immediately ran out as she got the message.
Seeing this, Eliza asked, “Summer, you’re leaving so early today?”
Summer turned back to her as she ran out. “I have something to do, I’ll head back first.”
“All right, go on then.”
“See you.”
After Summer came out, she looked around and did not see Leonardo.
Suddenly, a man in a green sweater and short sleeves walked toward her.
The man wore a black peaked cap, and the brim was so low that it covered his face. He was also wearing a pair of black slacks underneath and seemed extremely casual.
While she could not see his face clearly, she could feel the menacing aura from the man.
It felt familiar.
Only until the man walked up to her did Summer’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Emerson… Emerson…”
She was so surprised that she could not even say his name properly for a good while.
Leonardo pulled the hat up and raised his eyebrow at her. His tone was unabashedly annoyed. “I’ve only left the country for barely seven to eight days, and you’re stuttering already?”
