Chapter 211 What Makes You Think You’re Qualified Enough to Talk to Me

Book:CEO's Substitute Wife Published:2024-5-1

Summer and Jessica looked at each other. Both of them were speechless.
Summer had not seen Jerome for a long while. What he said to her when they finally met again was outrageous. The guy was a psychopath!
“What’s wrong with him?” Jessica secretly nudged Summer in the arm.
She shook her head at Jessica. “I don’t know. Let’s go.”
She used to like Jerome, and her heart would flutter whenever she saw him. But now, she was done with him. She no longer had feelings for him.
However, Jerome was not about to give up just yet. He ran up to Summer and stood in her way.
“Summer, we’ve known each other for so many years. You should know me well enough.” He paused as if he was thinking of what to say next.
Summer had come out to relax today, but Jerome’s behavior, which was bordering on harassment, irritated her. She took a deep breath as she played with her long hair restlessly before she said with a chilly voice, “I don’t know you. All I know is, if you have anything to say, you should say it to Vicky. She’s your girlfriend.”
“She’s not. We’ve parted,” Jerome denied categorically.
Summer’s lips curled up in scorn, pricking him mercilessly. “So you’ve only decided to come to me after you’ve broken up with her? Am I your spare?”
“Summer!” Jerome’s expression changed. He knitted his brows, as though he could not believe that Summer would say such things.
“I’m sorry. I’m not in the mood, but I also don’t think I’ve said anything wrong.” She looked at him with a half-smile. “Do you have anything else to say?”
“Summer, we may have had some misunderstandings last time, but I know you and Leonardo are not married yet. As long as you leave him, you can come to me. I—”
Before he could finish his sentence, a figure came out of nowhere and punched him in the face. He did not see it coming, and he dropped to the ground with a loud thud.
The sudden turn of events caught Summer and Jessica by surprise.
“Jerome!” Summer called him reflexively before she looked up at the attacker. The tall figure was none other than Leonardo.
He stood two paces from Summer, face grim, his eyes murderous.
“How come you’re here?” Summer was taken aback for a second before she went up to him.
Jessica was mousier than Summer was in front of Leonardo, especially when she saw his murderous gaze and felt a chill run up her spine. She rubbed her arms and quietly took two steps back.
Jerome had gotten back on his feet, and he looked at Leonardo with a frown. “It’s you?”
They were in a quiet corner of the night market, where the light was dim and there was not much of a crowd. So, no one had taken notice of what was happening there.
Leonardo swept his cold eyes over Jerome. “Shut up!”
Jerome felt a chill traveling up his spine, and his intuition told him that he had better keep his mouth shut. But then, he realized that Summer was there; he would lose his face if he was so easily intimidated by Leonardo.
Jerome looked up. “What are you trying to prove? Summer has nothing to do with you now. What makes you think you can tell her what to do?”
Summer was secretly praying for Jerome. She would only dare throw down the gauntlet to Leonardo on a normal day but definitely not when he was on the verge of going postal. She prayed for good luck to be on Jerome’s side.
Leonardo cocked an eyebrow and sneered. He was arrogant with a disdainful look. “What makes you think you’re qualified enough to talk to me?”
“Hello, may I ask, are you Summer?”
A voice suddenly came from behind them, and they looked back in its direction. It was a girl, probably a high-school student by the looks of her. The girl tilted her head and glanced at Summer. All of a sudden, she splashed a cup of unfinished milk tea at her.
“B*tch! You slutty mistress! How could you do that to his wife? You’ll get your dues…”
Summer was rooted to the spot when the girl blurted that out. Leonardo pulled Summer into his arms in a split second, dodging the milk tea bath just in time.
The commotion that the girl created had attracted the attention of others. People were coming over to check out the situation, and as a celeb, Jessica needed to avoid getting into a situation. “Run,” she said to Summer.
Glancing at Jessica, Summer was afraid that it would affect Jessica’s image if Jessica was seen together with her. After all, Jessica’s fan base was just starting to grow, so she said to Jessica, “Let’s split up.”
Leonardo glanced at her and grabbed her hand before he led her into a trail in a sprint. At the end of it was the main road, where Leonardo had parked his car. He opened the car door and shoved Summer in, then ran around to the other side, opened the door, and jumped in as well.
Before Summer could buckle up, the car surged forward like it was out of control.
She screamed at Leonardo, trying to hold on to whatever she could grab. “Slow down!”
Her words did not produce the desired effect. Instead, she seemed to have agitated Leonardo because the car sped up. Summer was flung from side to side, her head spinning and her words disjointed.
“Leonardo… I’m going to throw up…” She just had her dinner not long ago, and her stomach’s contents were rushing up.
Leonardo finally slowed the car down before coming to a stop. She reached to open the door, wanting to get out. Thinking that she was running away, he scooped her up in his arms and planted his fiery kisses on her lips. He was fervent, locking his lips to hers, licking and sucking to the point that her lips went numb.
However, the urge to throw up was too strong. She gave him a few punches, but she could never push him away. Plus, the cabin space was too small for her to stretch her limbs. Leonardo held her in his arms, prying her mouth open with his tongue as his kisses got deeper.
Just then, Summer accidentally touched a sensitive part of his body. As his body stiffened, she pushed him away, but there was no way he would let her go. He continued to hug her, his eyes dangerously on fire.
In the end, Summer could not hold on any longer, and she threw up big time. She felt the hand around her stiffen, but Leonardo did not push her away as she had expected. Instead, his hand moved up from her waist and patted her on the back to soothe her.
