Leonardo still kept going. “Let’s go back and talk again,” he said.
When he said that, Summer knew he would not just leave it and do nothing. Sure enough, Leonardo went into his reading room as soon as they got home. Summer returned to the bedroom, took out her laptop, and started to work on her script. After a while, she could not help but check Weibo to see if any dirty of Tip Top’s dirty secrets had been exposed.
Most topics started by centering on the gossip surrounding Adams and Summer. There were less critical comments about Tip Top and Weibo, but signs of digging at Tip Top’s dirty secrets had begun to reveal themselves.
Summer used to check out Tip Top’s background. There were some secrets here and there, but nothing major. Compared with other companies, it was much cleaner. Nonetheless, she still did not feel good about it, so she took her laptop and sought for Leonardo in the reading room.
Approaching the door of the study, she knocked on it once. It was not that she had to do it now, but it was a matter of habit. She then pushed the door ajar and poked her head in. “Would I be disturbing you if I come in?”
She held her laptop in one hand and the door with the other, poking her head through the door gap while speaking politely and cautiously. Seeing this, Leonardo could not help but smile.
“Yeah, maybe,” he said.
Summer had to glare at him. She initially thought he was a bundle of nerves when he went straight back to his reading room after coming home. Now it looked like he could still find time to tease her. She went in and closed the door behind her. Still carrying her laptop, she moved behind the desk, and her eyes landed on the computer screen.
Leonardo had also seen the headlines spreading across the pages on Weibo and other websites.
“The Case of Successful Public Relations.”
“The Secrets of Tip Top Entertainment. Shocking!”
“The Tycoon of the Entertainment Industry…”
“What are you doing?” Summer asked curiously.
“I’m doing what you think I’m doing.”
Leonardo closed the websites, which he had finished browsing, and pulled Summer into his arms. She was too naive to think that Leonardo would be bent out of shape by such petty things. He kissed her.
She nuzzled him and asked, “It’s easy to fix this. You only need to reveal your relationship with Adams or Adams and I can come forward to clear the air. It’s that simple.”
Once the sibling relationship between Adams and Leonardo came to light, those who were trying to smear Tip Top for exploiting Adams would shut up.
“That won’t work.” Leonardo shook his head. “They could attack Elder Brother or you. Your suggestion may fix the immediate issue at hand, but it could lead to more troubles later.”
Summer said nothing. To her, it was a non-issue. Adams was an actor, a public figure who, liked it or not, had to live under public scrutiny. It was natural for public figures to account for their actions. Besides, she was only an ordinary person, not a celeb or someone working in the entertainment industry. People’s curiosity in her would quickly fade away.
Leonardo should have known that. It was simple to fix it, but for some reason, he had chosen to do it the hard way. Summer knew that he obviously did not want to get her and Adams involved. Just looking at the zero gossips and absence of deep, dark secrets relating to Adams over the past years, it was easy to see how protective Leonardo was of him.
Leonardo was distant in personality, but when he was good to people, he did it quietly. It was always unknown to others. How could she not be touched by such a Leonardo?
She looked up and kissed him on the lips. “Just an encouragement for you.” But, she soon regretted it. Sitting on his laps, Summer could already feel his bodily reaction underneath.
“You…”
Leonardo did nothing. He just spoke with his hoarse voice, “I have things to do now. Sorry for not being able to reciprocate, but I will by today.” He jerked his lower body up as he said it.
Blushing big time, she got up and gave him some “good news” by giving him a good kicking in the leg. “Shameless!”
Leonardo shrugged it off, and his eyes moved to the computer screen. He opened up an empty file as if he was about to write something.
He was probably about to write a PR script, Summer thought. Not wanting to disturb him, she carried her laptop and sat on the sofa nearby. Taking off her shoes, she curled her legs on the sofa with her laptop on her body and typed away leisurely.
Surprisingly, she found that her anxiety from earlier was gone. She was now calm and collected, her mind clear and inspiration pouring like rain. When she finished her script, it was almost five in the afternoon. She looked over at Leonardo. He was still sitting behind the desk, typing and correcting what he had written. His brows were slightly knitted, and his face was serious.
He was holding the mouse in his hand as if he was doing something. Some time later, he got to his feet. “It’s late now. Let’s go for dinner.”
Summer put down her laptop and walked over, appearing curious. “You’ve been writing the entire afternoon. What did you write?”
“What about you?” Leonardo took a peek at her laptop.
“A screenplay, of course.”
“Can I see it?”
“No.” Summer had no problem discussing her script with Jessica, but she felt embarrassed about letting him read it.
“Then let’s get something to eat.” Leonardo was not really interested in what she had written.
She knew it was just a diversion tactic; he just did not want to let her know what he had written. So much for the hassle. He could have just told her so.
Summer walked at the front, and Leonardo slowed down his pace before he took out his mobile phone to call Carl.
“I’ve just posted something on Weibo. Please forward it.”
“Heck, did you forget that you commented on Weibo using my account last time?” Carl’s attention was obviously off. As soon as he finished talking, he felt an air of intimidation coming from the other end of the phone, and a chill up ran his spine. He quickly said, “Okay, okay, send me your name. I’ll follow you, then forward it out.”
“After you forward it, let the PR Department rest for a while until tonight.” Leonardo hung up and sent his own Weibo username to Carl.
Carl received his username and saw his long-winded Weibo post. Startled, he began to utter, “Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!” After that, he forwarded the post to his own Weibo.
During dinner, Summer browsed the net on her mobile phone, trying to keep abreast of the latest development on Weibo. But Leonardo confiscated her mobile phone, leaving her only one word, “eat”.
Summer could do nothing about it, so she ate until she got her phone back. Jessica was flooding her inbox with messages, but instead of reading them, she first checked her Weibo.
The top trending topic sounded a little weird to her.
“The founder of Tip Top Entertainment: XN.”
What did that mean?
