Karen heard the sound of “sister-in-law”, her face went dark deeply, and she gave Summer a stern and cold look.
Summer bit her lips up, was this”Douglas” trying to get her killed?
Karen held Summer’s hand and pulled her into the hall of the villa, then coldly shook off her hand.
She looked at Summer in a pale face, “Did the man just call you “the sister-in-law? Is he the cousin of the Leonardo?”
Summer nodded, “Uh.”
“Pow!”
Karen slapped her in the face, with a lot of strength. Hitting by that summer’s ears were buzzing.
“You have no shame, do you? what were you thinking by getting involved with your husband’s cousin on the first day of your marriage! Who are you trying to kill? You want die? just die, don’t take us with you!”
With her eyelids dropped, Summer reached out to touch her numb face which was still in pain, she coldly looked up to Karen, “really? you don’t even ask if I am willing?”
Every time it goes like this, no matter what happened, she’s always the one to blame, nobody even cares to ask the reason.
“One is an impotent and disfigured piece of garbage, the other, a normal and healthy man, everyone knows how to choose, You wouldn’t have already spent the night with this “cousin”, would you?”
A woman’s delicate voice came from the stairway, gently and soft, but full of malice.
Seeing Vicky came down, Karen rushed over to greet her, “Vicky, do you feel better?”
“Thanks Mom, I feel much better.” Vicky smiled gently to Karen and then went to Summer. “Summer, I can totally understand how you feel, but you should think about our Jarrett’s family, and try to be more restrained.”
Just from upstairs, through the window, she saw Summer and a man acting intimate in the car, what she didn’t expect was that being as stupid and ugly as Summer, she could actually hook up with men.
Said that, she turned to look at Karen, asked coquettishly, “Mom, am I right?”
Karen showed a smile,” Of course my Vicky is right.”
Summer tightly clenched her hands, she didn’t say a word with her lips closed.
For those who have no idea what’s going on here, they will assume Vicky is Karen’s biological daughter.
Over the years, Karen has always wanted to gain a firm foothold in Jarrett’s house, she tried to pleased everyone in this house with everything she could, however, she treated her own daughter so badly as if she was an abandoned child.
Karen’s smile vanished when she turned to look at Summer with a severe face, “Summer, since you have married into the Emerson family, you must fulfill your duty, don’t you give our family a bad name.”
Summer lowered her eyes, hiding her disdain inside, in her face she still looked as dumb as a doormat. With a calm voice, she said, “you have reminded me that if one day I am not happy, I will probably do something stupid, not sure if it would piss the Emersons off so badly that they even destroy the whole Jarrett family.”
Vicky did not expect Summer who has always been silly and rebellious, would say such words, she frowned and said, “what do you mean by that?”
“Just exactly what you heard.”Summer looked up, with her eyes slightly closed, as dull as usual.
Do they really think she would still be charged and abused as a servant like before?
It used to be like that, because back to that time she still had her illusions for Karen. But after she forced herself to marry into the Emerson family on her sister’s behave, now even that was gone.
“What?”
Vicky already got used to bossing Summer around, and this is the first time she saw Summer’s resistance.
She was so angry that she glared at Summer before she turned to look at Karen, “Mom, I’m kind enough to persuade Summer. How could she even say that?”
Of course, Karen could hear the threat in Summer’s words, but assuming that Summer would compromise with her no matter what like the past, she still put on a mother’s airs and said sternly, “Summer, apologize to your sister!”
