The chair turned around; it was Fillip, just as Ava had suspected.
She looked for something to defend herself because she knew he had something up his sleeves, something evil planned out, but there was nothing in sight. He had predicted that she might try to kill him.
He didn’t call those women to wait on her or dress her up for nothing. He was up to something; only time would tell what it was.
Filip looked at her while licking his lips like a hungry pig; his gaze lingered on her breast and exposed thighs.
His leering disgusted her; she gave him the biggest scowl she could muster.
“Sit down, Ava,” he said, pointing at a chair in front of him.
“I feel good standing where I am,” she replied stubbornly.
He rolled his eyes and said, “Sit down immediately, or I will have one of the Dawn Pack members in prison killed.”
Ava weighed her options; she didn’t want him to kill someone because she refused to sit down, so she sat.
He smiled at her, then grabbed a bottle of wine and poured it into two cups, placing one near Ava and the other near him.
“May I offer you this beautiful wine?”
“No Gamma Fillip, A Luna doesn’t take alcohol until two months after her Alpha dies. Just because you desecrated the rules doesn’t mean I would too.”
“First of all, never call me Gamma Fillip; I am an Alpha now. Shortly, I will be ruling the entire werewolf pack.”
Ava burst out laughing; she laughed so hard that she clutched her stomach.
“What is so funny, Ava?” he growled.
“It is so funny that you think Vulcan will let you rule; soon, he will kill you, then rule Fillip; you are nothing but a puppet.” She burst out laughing again.
He slapped Ava in the face. She held her face while holding his gaze for a while before she burst out laughing again.
“Vulcan can’t kill me because I will kill him first when I get everything I want,” he smirked.
Ava shook her head, “Of course, you will; you understand backstabbing so well. You and Vulcan are a match made in hell. May I go now?”
“No! I want us to dine together because I have a proposition for you.”
“Is that so? Does it include a place I could stab you to death?”
“You wish, Zula!” He called.
The women servants brought in trays containing plates of assorted dishes, and they got to work setting the plates. Fillip continued smiling at Ava, who was looking for a way out.
“May I visit the restroom?” “I feel pressed,” Ava muttered, giving him her most charming smile. It seems Fillip was interested in her, and she was trying to use it to her advantage.
“Of course.”
Bingo!
Ava gave him one last smile before she turned to the door they came through.
She was trying to confuse him, keep him lusting after her, and then leave before he noticed her absence; she would already have made a run for it through the tunnels.
“What kind of wine would you like, my lady?” One of the women asked.
Shit! Shit! Shit! This was not good. She still headed towards the door.
It was like the woman’s question brought Fillip back to his senses.
“The bathroom is this way, Ava,” he barked.
Ava weighed her choices and decided not to run for it now. Since he was very alert.
“Of course, I just got confused.”
“Indeed.”
She went to the bathroom and washed her hands before coming out.
“Let’s eat, Ava. I had them make your favourite mushroom soup; I remember you enjoying them because Nani cooked them a lot,” he smiled.
“That was beautiful, but I am not hungry.” “I won’t let you poison me.”
“It wasn’t a question, Ava. Now eat! The food isn’t poisoned, but to put your mind at ease, I will taste them.”
He picked up his food and took two bites from everything on the table.
“Satisfied?”
“No, but this will have to do for now.”
Ava decided to eat. She hadn’t eaten anything today because they were waiting on her. Besides, she needed to be strong for running, and for that, she needed food.
She dug into the mushroom soup; it was good, but Ava didn’t complement it. It could be dirt for all she cared about.
“Is the soup good enough?”
“It will do,” she said before she continued eating.
“Have some bread, pies, or cake, Ava.”
“I can see them; if I want them, then I will take them; thank you for asking.”
“Feisty. That’s what I liked about you. Too bad you were De Clan’s mate and not mine.
“The moon goddess won’t be so cruel to me by doing that, Fillip. You and Sabrina would have been perfect for each other.”
He burst out laughing, like what she said was the funniest thing he had ever heard.
She was right; the murderer was lusting after her. She won’t let him try whatever he planned with her. She grabbed a knife from the table and hid it on her body.
She wasn’t sure how much help a knife would be if he tried anything. Filip was a Gamma that was trained by Lucas De’Clan himself, and he ended up defeating his master, but she prayed that the knife would save her.
He kept stealing glances from her while eating. Each time their eyes met, Ava scowled at him.
Ava didn’t eat much; she didn’t need anything that might make her miss a chance to escape. The success rate of escaping from here was greater than from the prison because she didn’t have the key to the prison.
When they finished eating, he clapped his hands, and the table was cleared in the twinkle of an eye.
“Now that we have eaten, I have a proposition or a position for you to fill. Lucas is dead, as you know.”
“Yes, he is dead because you killed him. You are nothing but a murderer.”
“Do you want to cry for your mate forever, wasting away in a cell? Or you can be my mistress. I need an heir, Ava, since I haven’t met my mate and may never meet her. So I choose you.” Filip confessed. “I liked you for a long time since you came to the Dawn pack. For Lucas’s death, war is inevitable.. so what do you say?”
“So you expect me to sleep with you after you killed my husband, right?”
He nodded, and Ava burst into laughter.
“You are really crazy; I would rather die than let your bastard hands touch me.”
He smirked, “I heard you have a son. Maybe I should look for him. I am sure you will agree quickly.”
“You could, but you won’t ever find him.”
“I could find a way to torture the truth out of you.”
“Feel free, Filip. Because De Clan had someone wipe his whereabouts from my memory, he didn’t want it to hinder me.”
“This is good news since you don’t know where your son is; then be my mistress. We will rule together, conquering the world. I could kill Vulcan too; just say yes.”
“Ruling together? So what will be my position if I agree for us to rule together?
“You will be my mistress, beautiful. You will rule over my body. I will grant you everything you wish as long as you please me.”
“So my position is in your bed. Interesting. I have no dreams of getting into bed with a Bastard and a common Gamma.”
With the speed of lightning, he grabbed Ava. He pushed her into the wall, trying to force his mouth on hers. She managed to position the knife, and then she stabbed his stomach with it.
He groaned, then moved back to remove the weapon.
Ava wasn’t focused on him; she needed something to protect herself before the bastard finished healing. She spotted a dagger on the wall with inscriptions on it. She grabbed it. When she turned around, he was no longer bleeding out.
“We could do this the easy way or the hard way.”
She positioned herself as Lucas taught her, with the dagger in her hand.
“The hard way, Bastard, your hands will never be on me.”
His eyes found the dagger, and his eyes widened.
“Put that back, Ava,” Fillip said.
He knocked the dagger out of her hand. He grabbed her and pushed her into the bed. Despite her struggles, she was no match for him.
She rammed her knees into his d*ck. He groaned, losing some of his hold on her.
“Get off me, rapist! Maybe that was the way you were conceived. Your sick father forcing himself on your mother, bastard.”
He slapped her so hard that she could hear ringing in her ears.
“Never talk about my family again, guards!” He screamed.
The vile-looking men opened the door.
“Lock her again; since she is unwilling to cooperate, don’t give her food until I give the command.”
He resumed writing as they began to drag her away.
“One more thing. Return her clothes, and keep your eyes and hands to yourself, Hakim.”
One of the guards nodded, then pushed her forward.
Maybe she didn’t escape today, but she hoped she would run another day.
