“Hello, Nani. I didn’t think you were serious when you informed me you would be coming here again. Is anything the matter?” Madeline asked her as she welcomed her into her living room.
“Thanks be to the goddess Madeline, and I am most grateful for your help. Sabrina the witch is no more.”
Madeline nodded in affirmation. “It’s just like I’d seen it. I am happy for your alpha that the plans of the evil one in his life were not successful.”
“I am happy about that too Madeline, but then there’s still a reason I came here. All is far from well at all.”
Squeezing her brow, “what is it?” Madeline asked.
“After the battle ended and Sabrina was killed, everyone expected that the mate bond between Lucas De’ Clan and his mate would be restored, but that didn’t happen. Instead, he sent her away again, even after he found out she carried his child.”
“So, you came here because you yourself had doubts that the bond had not been completely shattered?”
Nani nodded, “that’s not all Madeline. I fear that those signs you were warning me about might be the one manifesting itself now.”
“The sign of the gamma?”
“Yes… that’s the one.”
“Oh, no dear. You needn’t worry about that for now. That time is not yet upon us, but it is soon to come.”
“So, what could be the reason for the two mates’ refusal to reunite despite all that has happened? You should have seen the way Ava spoke yesterday; she was so much ready to move on as a single mother for the rest of her life.”
Madeline chuckled then, surprising Nani, “do not worry about that for now dear Nani, you have played your part in this battle, all you have to do now is trust the process.”
Nani’s eyes lit up at her friend’s words, “trust the process, are you… are you saying? There is still hope? Lucas and Ava will still get back together?”
“The vision I got this time came quite trickily. I didn’t see it directly, but then I saw something that made me know that it was bound to happen.”
“What?? Tell me… what did you see?”
“I saw light, Nani, even after Sabrina was gone, that light never went off in their union, and you know the popular saying, where is there is light, there is hope.”
“Oh, Madeline, are you sure about this? Ava doesn’t seem to believe that… she doesn’t seem to hold any more hope in her heart… in fact, she has assured herself that she will never get back with her child’s father.”
“If there wasn’t an ounce of hope left in Ava’s heart, then why does she still keep the child? Why doesn’t she just flush it so she can move on with her life undisturbed?”
“You’re right… it makes so much sense now…. Ava only said those words yesterday out of hurt…. Hurt from the way he rejected her… Ava still loves my Lucas!”
“As for what Lucas did yesterday… we could say it was anything, but let’s just call it an after effect of Sabrina’s powers.”
“That witch! Even in death, she still tortures my Lucas’s mind!”
“Yes, she does, but like I said, do not worry. She’s already lost. In time, the two will find their way back to each other.”
“You don’t know how scared I was, Madeline! All that trouble I’ve been through… just so that Ava and the child could return home.”
“All your efforts were not in vain, my friend. Rest now. From now on, their union will wax stronger and the boy will only strengthen the bond between his parents.”
From what Madeline said then, only one word stood out for Nani. “Boy? As in… Male cub?”
Madeline nodded excitedly, “Yes, dear. I got the vision. Ava’s body hosts the dawn prince.”
Nani jumped, “oh… the goddess be praised! It’s a boy!! Finally, all that my Lucas once lost has been restored.”
This is big news, but Nani knows not to share it with too many people, except for Ava of course, who would be in camp by now… Goddess no, of course Ava can’t keep sleeping there! Nani made a note in her mind then to follow up on Cian regarding Ava’s new home. There’s so much to prepare for, so much to do. A prince is on his way!
As Nani left her friends’ house that day, she held on to those words tighter than ever. Ava might most likely deliver in her new home, away from her mate, but at least there’s the chance of them both getting back together one day. For now, she could only hope and wait for when the time would come.

It was night time. Lucas remained at his balcony, gazing into the night sky. He couldn’t sleep, tonight nor the previous one. Maybe it’s because he hates himself so much for everything that’s happened.
Nani had just retired for the night, but then it dropped in her heart to check on Lucas, as she hasn’t seen much of him lately. She hopes he’s still awake.
After she knocked on the door and received his response, she entered the room and made her way to where he was standing, soothing his sleeplessness with the surrounding breeze. Nani couldn’t help but feel so much for him then.
“Lucas?”
“Good evening, Nani,” he muttered the greeting with his back turned against her, he didn’t face her, just kept staring into the empty space in front of him.
In response, she said some words to him, the same words she’d used to console him on the night of his curse.
“Lucas, my dear. I’m still your nanny. Even after everything that’s happened, I want you to know that you are still loved, no matter what dear… you are still loved.”
He heard her, but he still didn’t turn to face her. After what seemed like a long period of silence, he finally began to speak, in the form of confessions.
“I didn’t mean to send her away. I wished so much to have her back… I didn’t want her to ever leave me again.”
