“Because she is family! She… She is our family!” Senator Han exhaled.
“What?!” Declan exclaimed and left his mouth open.
“Who is your family?” Tiffany raised her brows, trying to mention her cool.
“You,” Senator Han sighed.
“I guess you’re on drugs,” Tiffany chuckled and then turned to leave.
“Wait!” Senator Han called out and she halted.
He rushed towards her, stopped in front of her, and grabbed her wrist.
“I am sorry… Okay?” He whispered and Tiffany frowned.
“Yeah, you better be sorry for standing me up unnecessary,” she glared at him.
“I’m sorry that I failed both you and Nova,” he shook his head.
Tiffany refused to let her feelings waver, she frowned her face, snatched her hand from the man, and dashed out of the office, slamming the door hard behind her.
“Dad, what the fûck are you doing?!” Declan yelled.
“Aiden, do you know her?” Senator Han ignored and asked Aiden.
“Yes, dad, she’s my girlfriend,” he replied.
“Thank you so much, and I hope you keep loving her,” he nods his head.
Aiden nodded his head awkwardly, bowed
and exited the office to search for Tiffany.
What happened back in the office was still not clear.
It wasn’t clear at all and he wanted it to be but he was sure his girlfriend needed an explanation more than him.
Huh, where did she go to?
**
“Dad?!” Declan shouted and ran his hand through his hair.
“Let’s get going,” Senator Han glanced at his man and then wore his mask.
“Are you seriously not going to answer me?” Declan furrowed his brow.
“Come home with your sister later, I’ll tell you what you guys need to know,” he answered and then turned to leave.
“Can’t you just tell me now?” Declan frowned and watched his old man say nothing as his guard opened the door and walked out with him.
“Fûck!” he hissed and turned around to hit his fist against the wall.
Who is their family?
Tiffany?
How?
~~
“Anny!” Aiden shouted as he sighted Tiffany about to ascend the stairs that led to her classroom and rushed to her while she waited.
“Are you okay?” He asked and then kissed her cheek.
“Yes,” she nodded her head.
“Are you sure?”
“Who is that man? Declan’s father, right?”
“Yes, he’s also the Senator,” Aiden answered.
“Are you worried about what he said?” Aiden asked when she said nothing.
“Not at all. But…” she drawled with a frown.
“What is it?”
“He said something about knowing my mother and I’m curious about that. I also want to know who my mother is,” Tiffany pressed her lips together.
“Senator Han wouldn’t come here to say words he didn’t mean to you,” Aiden cupped her cheeks.
“He came to find you himself, I’m sure he will do that again. Don’t get worked up, okay?” he bore his eyes into her.
“I’m getting this kind of feeling like something is going to happen soon. Akilang hasn’t made a sound in a while, I just hope it’s for the better,” Tiffany pouted and Aiden kissed her lips shortly.
“It’s for the better, I guess the demon also knew that you’re not an easy person, right?” he grinned.
“Huh, whatever,” Tiffany smiled.
“I love seeing you smile, you look very beautiful when you smile. So, no room for frowning, okay?” he creased his brow.
“Yes, sir,” Tiffany laughed and then hugged him.
“Thank you,” she gave a comforting smile as she wrapped her hands around him.
“I love you,” Aiden confessed.
“I love you.”

After school was over, Aiden rode Tiffany to her sandwich bar and then returned home.
Even though he noticed the car that had been trailing him since he left school with Tiffany, he chose to turn a blind eye.
His mother was surely not going to rest till she announced him as the heir.
On the other hand, Declan and Zoey hang around the school till Zoey’s driver came and then watched her leave.
As soon as Zoey left, he picked up the call and call Marlie to tell her what happened at the school earlier in the day and that he was heading home at that moment.
He couldn’t wait to hear what his dad got to say about what happened and what he had said.

Senator Han’s residence.
By the time Declan arrived home, Marlie wasn’t home yet and he made way to his dad’s study where the man always stays whenever he’s not in his office.
“I knew you were going to come earlier than I had expected,” Senator Han, who was sitting on a cushioned chair chuckled as the guy barged into the study.
“I’m home,” Declan mumbled.
“I can see you,” Senator Han smiled and then removed the eyeglasses he was wearing.
“Dad, the curiosity Is really eating me up,” Declan shook his head and then settled on the couch adjacent to him.
“I know,” he nods his head.
“Can you just tell…”
“Ta-da!” Marlie barged in with a wide smile.
“I hope I didn’t miss out on anything,” she smiled and then rushed to hug her dad.
“Welcome,” Senator Han whispered.
“Did you tell Declan anything already without me?”
“Will you sit down already?” Declan hissed.
“I guess he hasn’t started,” she chuckled and sat on the arm of the chair her dad was sitting, leaning towards him.
“Why did you come to visit Tiffany today?” Declan asked.
“I feel like I’m being interrogated,” Senator Han smiled.
“Dad!” Marlie and Declan chorused.
“I’ve told you, Tiffany is our family,” he said.
“How?” Marlie asked and he sighed.
The kids needed to know.
“Tiffany is your half-sister,” he said.
“Our half-sister? You mean, your daughter?” Declan pointed his index finger at him and he nodded his head.
“How? I don’t understand,” Marlie furrowed her brow.
“I will not tell you guys everything now till Tiffany is here with us. I am not explaining myself twice, but I’ll say this. I didn’t entirely abandon her and her mother. I left Nova in Theodore’s care. Theodore is Aiden’s father. I left Nova in his care because your mother found out that I was having an affair with Nova and it wasn’t good,” he explained.
“This is… Cràzy,” Declan shook his head.
“I just want to say everything to her face. Declan, she’s your friend, right? Can you talk to her that I want to see her? Don’t say anything about what I said to you guys to her. I want her to hear it from me. Can you just talk to her to meet me, please?” Senator Han pleaded.
“Meet who? You have no idea how she is. She would never want to see you. And you think we’re friends? We don’t even like each other!” he snapped and then stood from the chair.
“I can’t believe you, I swear,” he shook his head and then dashed out of the study.
“He is so hot-headed,” Marlie hissed.
“Exactly.”
“Dad, I’ll visit her workplace and talk to her, I am friends with her,” Marlie patted her dad.
“You don’t have a problem accepting her as your half-sister?” Senator Han creased his brows.
“I like her as a person. I’ve always admired her personality, I guess blood is thicker than water,” she giggled and rested her head on her dad’s.
“You’re so cool,” Senator Han smiled.
“Yeah, I’m just like you,” she giggled.
“Come to think of you, your mother is so hot-headed,” Senator laughed.
“Declan is just like mum,” Marlie pulled away and they both laughed.

Declan pulled roughly in front of Declan’s house, got down from the car, and then entered the compound.
He got to the door and input the passcode which indicated that it was incorrect.
“Did this punk change his passcode?” He hissed as he pressed the bell simultaneously.
“Woah, it’s Declan. Didn’t know you could press the bell,” Aiden’s face popped up from the camera box that connected people from outside and inside together.
“Idiot, you changed your passcode,” Declan hissed.
“Hehehe, I’ve opened it,” Aiden answered and the door made a sound, indicating that it had been opened.
*
“Àsshôlé, why did you change the goddamn code!” Declan shouted as he entered the house.
“I changed it when my girlfriend was here, I didn’t want any disturb,” he answered, his back facing Declan, doing what only God knows.
“Idiöt, it’s not like you guys were fûcking back to back,” Declan hissed as he walked up to him.
“Whatever,” Aiden groaned.
“Fûck, what is this?!” Declan frowned his eyes as he stopped beside Aiden who was watching a tiny kitten drink milk.
“It’s a kitten,” Aiden replied and then rubbed Its head.
“I know it is a kitten, why is it here?”
“I saw whining in from of my house, it needed shelter. So I took it in. Isn’t it cute?” Aiden grinned.
“Why would you talk it in? What if it had a disease?” Declan creased his brows.
“Come on, it’s just a harmless kitten. I was going to take it to the vet when I’m done feeding it though,” Aiden answered, smiling at the kitten that was drinking the milk hungrily.
“Whatever, just don’t let it come near me till it is checked up probably, I can kîll it,” Declan hissed.
“You have a problem with everything,” Aiden shook his head.
“I have something to discuss with you, that’s why I’ve come here. Don’t think you’re any special,” Declan rolled his eyes.
“If I start talking about how much you love me, even you will be surprised. Tell me, what’s up?” Aiden glanced at him.
“Dad said Tiffany is his daughter,” Declan said bluntly and Aiden coughed.
“What?!” Aiden pulled away from the kitten.
“It seems you’re more shocked than me,” Declan rolled his eyes.
“How is she your dad’s daughter?!”
“Did is not saying everything. He said he will only talk till Tiffany is there. He really wants to meet her. But…” Declan took his lower lip in his mouth.
“But?” Aiden beaded his brows.
“He said he left Tiffany’s mother with your father,” Declan answered.
“He left the woman he was having affair with my father?” Aiden raised his brows and Declan nodded his head
“Woah, very entangled,” Aiden shook his head.
“What’s going to happen now?” He asked.
“I’m not sure. He wants me to talk to Tiffany to agree to see him. He also doesn’t want me to say anything to her that he wants to tell her everything himself,” he shrugged his shoulder off.
“Then you should tell her,” Aiden said.
” You know I can’t. We’re not on good terms,” Declan frowned.
“I can’t do that for you. She’s my girlfriend, I’ll want to tip her off by telling her what you just said so I’ll rather pretend not to know anything,” Aiden said and Declan sighed.
“If you want your dad to reconcile with his long-lost daughter, then that is what you should do,” Aiden patted his shoulder and then turned to look around.
“Lily?!” Aiden shouted, looking around.
“Who is that?” Declan asked and also looked around.
“My kitten,” Aiden turned to look at him, smiled, and then resumed looking for the kitten.
“What a nûtjob,” Declan shook his head and then headed to the kitchen.

Sandwich bar*
Welcome!” Tiffany greeted as the bell rang which indicated that someone had just entered.
“Hi!” Marlie stopped by the cabinet and grinned.
“Take your order and leave, I am busy,” Tiffany mumbled as she moved to the man that stopped by the cabinet.
“One Americano,” the man said.
“Didn’t you miss me?” Marlie smiled as she watched Tiffany attend to the customer.
Knowing now that the lady was her half-sister, her heart broke seeing her work so effortlessly.
“What do you want?” Tiffany glared at her after she had finished attending to the man.
“Sandwich. Beef sandwich,” she answered and Tiffany turned to prepare it.
“My dad wants to see you,” Marlie said and Tiffany turned to face her slowly.
“What?” She drew her brows together.
“Can you meet him, just once? He really needs to talk to you,” Marlie took her lower lips in hers.
“You came to tell me that?” Tiffany frowned.
“Just meet him, please,” Marlie wore a puppy expression.
“Get out,” Tiffany hissed as she sights someone walking it.
“Welcome,” she greeted.
“One caramel macchiato,” he said.
“Tiffany, Just see him, please,” Marlie pleaded as she watched Tiffany take the order of the man that had just arrived.
“Tiffany, just see him once, please. He really has a lot of things to tell you,” Marlie pleaded as she watched the lady pretend as if she didn’t see him while she waited for the next customer.
“He wants to talk to you about Ms. Nova, your mother,” she said slowly and that caught her attention just as her dad had said.
#Flashback
“If she refused to see you, how else can I convince her though?” Nova asked as she was about to leave the study.
“Just mention Nova. Nova is her mother. I’m sure she’ll be very curious about that,” her dad answered.
=
“He wants to talk about my mum?” Tiffany raised a brow.
” Yes,” Marlie nodded her head.
She bore her eyes into the lady whose attention has been caught, and really hoped she agreed to come with her as she picked on her nails.
Please, say yes…
She whispered.
And Tiffany heard that…
