Chapter 140

While I was on the verge of standing up and getting out of bed, someone chained my waist.
I wanted to take down Sean Matthews’ hand. Instead of letting go of me, his hand became tighter and held on even more tightly. My body was embraced again as soon as my arm power was released from the hold.
“…” Once again, I found myself falling into Sean Matthews’ embrace.
After then, there was complete stillness.
Is it possible that the guy is not sleeping?
Just as I was considering forcing my way out of the situation by using physical force anyhow, “Well…” Dylan woke up.
After then, Doris and Debbie awoke from their sleep.
They get awake.
“Mom…” Duke massaged his eyes before sitting on the side of the bed and lying down. When he finally opened his eyes wide, he noticed that I was lying on the bed, and he hurried over to me as soon as he could get into bed. “Mom!”
The others and Duke both jump on me at the same time.
Then rely on Sean Matthews and me.
“Dad, the sun is roasting your buttocks!!”
Duke muttered into Sean Matthews’ face.
Doris also scratched Sean Matthews’ eyes with his small, meaty fingers out of pure curiosity.
Before Sean Matthews’ eyes opened, the large hand that he had reached out with caught the chunk of flesh, and he felt the mild pressure.
I felt quite comfortable. I dragged myself out of bed. Despite the fact that there was a picture on the bed, I was the first one to leave the room and go back to my to wash.
Susan spotted me. “Are the children conscious at this hour?”
“They get up, but they continue to let them stay in bed and play for a long. I’ll get the laundry done and then go grab them “I replied.
“OK.”
At the table for breakfast, the children have a healthy appetite and seem to be content after each and every meal.
It’s only that Sean Matthews’s reluctance to get out of bed each morning has left him with a dull complexion.
I drove the children to school in my own personal Bentley, which belonged to Sean Matthews.
I send them to school.
If it had happened earlier, I would have seen five adorable children and a few more children stumbling their way through the queue.
Everything is different now because of the fact that the children all have distinct identities and because Sean Matthews is in the picture.
The only green channel does not need to be crowded with so many parents to send their children at the school gate as I used to.
I turned my head and refocused on the instructor as she led the students to the classroom.
“I’m going back.”
“Get in the car.”
The quiet voice of Sean Matthews was heard.
I know what he means, “it’s not on the way. I’ll take the subway myself.”
As he was about to turn around and go, he tightened his wrist and was pushed in front of Sean Matthews– “…” the firm contact of my body striking Sean Matthews’ chest caused me to breathe. He was about to turn around and leave.
“You seem to be in such a rush; can you tell me where you’re going?”
I had a lot of trouble with my wrist, and I was unable to earn it. “I have to go home! It is imperative that I find work.”
“No?”
Sean Matthews asked.
“No, what other options do I have?”
I didn’t know why, but I stared at him.
Just what is he getting at?
Why does it sound weird?
More and more unfathomable.
“Better so. Get in the car.” Sean Matthews loosened his grip on me and turned to get into the car.
I calmly glance forward as I sit in the dark seat and focus on not becoming furious.
Sean Matthews has said ‘get in the car’ twice. For him who has no patience, if I refuse again, I will know the consequences!
I boarded the car.
But, when he is in the car, the aura that surrounds Sean Matthews is much weaker.
This man seemed to have a lot of doubt.
I refrained from speaking and instead focused on the rear view through the window.
There are no words at any point.
At the entrance of the community, I stepped out of the car, said “thank you,” and then walked inside.
Sean Matthews was silent during the whole conversation.
After Bentley’s unexpected move in front of me, I made a U-turn and entered the neighborhood on foot.
After climbing five floors, I was out of breath when I reached the door and then startled.
What’s with the new door?
I won’t walk in the wrong direction, will I?
I reached into my pocket for the key, and then I opened the door. It was really my place.
This door… Who was the person who Sean Matthews dispatched to make the change?
If he doesn’t pay for the shattered door, who will have to pay for it?
Should have been!
I was moving around in the grocery store and was in the middle of picking up potatoes when I saw a person standing right next to me.
“Donna”
I was so frightened by the recurring sound that reminded me of a nightmare that I dropped the potatoes, which then tumbled to the ground.
Donald Davis got down on hER knees, picked up the potatoes that were lying on the ground, and then delivered them to me.
I gazed at him, but I refrained from responding to him. My body was pushed to its absolute limit of elasticity.
“Haven’t seen you for so many years, still hate dad?”
Donald Davis tapped his eyeglasses with his finger. “It was Dad’s fault before. Dad apologized to you.”
I bit down really hard on my lower lip and clinched my teeth fiercely, acting as though I might shake when I finally let go.
I glanced at the people coming and going next to me, and my fear was slightly relieved, “Your apology is not acceptable to me!”
“I am aware that in the past I would push things too far, but I have now adjusted. The primary reason for this is that I drank without moderation, and then…” Donald Davis had a regretful expression on his face as he glanced at my expression of indifference and suggested, “let’s discuss someplace else? This is not a nice spot to stand in.”
I didn’t move an inch and had no intention of leaving that spot.
My hand was taken by Donald Davis. “Come on, let’s go outdoors.”
The minute someone touched me, every muscle in my body tightened up even more.
It’s almost as if Donald Davis is going to hit me any second now.
