Chapter 69

Book:His Secret Quintuplets Published:2024-6-2

I am required to put in extra hours on the weekends since my employer is very busy filming programs that are due to debut the following week.
Sunday was not a day of relaxation for me.
When Susan opened the door early on Sunday morning, she saw the children, and me sleeping together.
Susan didn’t call us. She went to the kitchen, where she prepared the morning meal.
After Duke hit the ground, I snapped out of my sleep.
I dragged myself out of bed bleary-eyed, cleaned up the scattered items, and then went straight back to sleep.
“Mom?”
The adorable moment when Duke massaged his eyes
After then, the other four children awoke from their slumber.
“Mom…”
Everyone piled up on top of me at once.
I couldn’t help but laugh at them and give them hugs “We are really close to rising now. It would seem that Susan is on her way…”
I exited the room, and the children shouted after me, “Aunt Susan!”
“Susan!”
” Susan!”
” Susan!”
” Susan!”
Susan, who had been cleaning up, was happy to see them . “Are you hungry? I prepared you great meals.”
“I want pancakes!”
Duke spoke first.
“I want chickens, too!”
Dora put up her hand to speak.
“Cheese!”
Doris.
“Ingredients…” Debbie.
Dylan, “Dylan… Hungry!”
Susan grinned.
I cleaned the sheets at home in the morning and then dried them on the balcony, which was not a very large area.
The children are in fact having a good time playing beneath the covers.
“Mom has just finished washing it. Don’t get any dirt on it.” I reminded them, and it made me feel really joyful.
After lunch, I entertained the kids by playing with them, and then I put them down for a sleep.
After then, I received a phone call from Ceres Taylor.
I’m not sure what it was that she desired. I answered, “what’s up?”
“Will you please come out and have some tea with me in the afternoon?”
“I would want to tag along with the kids.”
“Are there really no adults around to look after them? Where’s Susan?”
“Taking a day off is a luxury for me.”
“It’s alright. It won’t take too much time. When the kids go down for their naps, you may come out. Then you’ll go back early.”
Since I thought it was possible that Ceres Taylor wanted to drink coffee with me, I accepted to her request.
However, I was unprepared for the fact that not just Ceres Taylor but also another young guy was drinking coffee when I arrived at the location.
“Let me introduce you. This is the son of the cooperative firm that your uncle started. I had just met him, so I suggested that we have a seat and have a chat.” Ceres Taylor said.
“I am Ben Scott, and this is my name. Hello.” When Ben Scott spotted me, the excitement in his eyes told me “we’ve met.”
When was the last time I encountered someone like that? I can’t recall.
“At your uncle’s birthday party, don’t you remember?”
Ceres Taylor asked about it.
I can’t say for sure that I remember, but I do recall hearing about the birthday celebration.
But I had to act like I wasn’t. I forced a grin and a greeting out of my mouth.
“Please do come and have a seat. Please sit down.” Ceres Taylor caused me to stop and then she had me sit down. “What would you want to drink?”
“Just plain water,” I said.
“I can’t delay too long. After this, I have something else to accomplish.”
“I know. I’ll go grab you a milk shake right now.” Consequently, Ceres Taylor took the initiative to get a glass of milk shake for me, and she greeted me with a grin and said, “ladies should drink milk shake, right, Ben?”
Ben Scott flashed a grin and nodded his head. “Indeed, you have it correct. When I first met Ms. Davis, she was attending a birthday celebration, and it was the first time I had ever seen a female who was completely natural and did not wear any makeup.”
“Indeed, even when she was little, she had a lovely appearance.”
Ceres Taylor also praised me.
It was awkward for me to have to sit next to him.
After sitting for more than half an hour, I have endured to the limit.
The topic is all around me. Are you sure you just happen to meet someone who sits down and talks?
It feels like a blind date.
My mobile phone rang just as I was about to beg to go because I couldn’t keep myself from doing so.
After looking at the caller ID, I became so alarmed that the shaking in my fingers nearly caused me to spill the milk shake that was sitting on the table.
“What’s the matter?”
Ceres Taylor asked.
“It’s not a big deal. I’ll answer the phone.” I stood up and then exited the coffee shop. I took several deep breaths and went for a walk to help me relax. What was the purpose of Sean Matthews’ call at this hour? I dare not ignore the fact that the cell phone is still ringing, and as soon as I answer it, I shake with fear and say, “Mr. Matthews…”
“Where are you?”
I try to keep my voice normal, “at home.”
“Are you prepared to deceive and have the truth revealed?”
I was already rather agitated before that. I turned my attention back to the cell phone in my pocket and heard Sean Matthews’ ominous, low voice. My body was shaking, and I was terrified out of my mind.
What exactly does Sean Matthews want to say?
Why does he think I would lie?
Is he already here?
After turning around, I peered into the coffee shop. Although I could see individuals moving about inside through the wall and the glass door, I was unable to determine which one was Sean Matthews .
When the sun is shining brightly, my hair stands on end.
I immediately terminated the call.
Go back immediately.
I’m not going to say goodbye to Ceres Taylor.
It would be terrible if Sean Matthews caught me in the act on the spot.
