Chapter 72 Monitor

Book:Ex-husband, Let Me Go Published:2024-6-2

The next day, Ji Yan stood in front of a mirror and carefully unwrapped the gauze on her forehead. A small scar came into view, which was extremely unpleasant to her eyes.
Ji Yan pouted, thinking about what had happened during her abduction incident. Was the matter left unsettled? Ji Yan harbored hatred deep in her bones and she did not want to suffer a loss just like that.
She squeezed some ointment on her hand and applied it to her wound in circles. According to Smith, this ointment would help in her recovery and not leave a scar, so Ji Yan applied it seriously.
After taking care of herself, she was ready to head out. She had an appointment with the hospital’s director and planned to finish her mother’s return as soon as possible.
When her mother was sent to the psychiatric hospital by Mrs. Ji, she had no mental illness, but Ji Yan didn’t know if her mother still retained her mind after so many years in the mental hospital.
If her mother was out of her mind, what could she do? When she thought of this, Ji Yan’s head hurt again, and she felt a deep sadness in her heart.
After arriving at the director’s office, Ji Yan sorted out her emotions and walked in. When she saw the man behind the desk, she was slightly stunned. She did not expect that the director was so young. The man was at most 30 years old.
The director looked up at her and smiled. “Miss Ji, please have a seat.”
Ji Yan nodded, put down her bag, and sat.
“How did you get the wound on your head?” The director suddenly pointed to Ji Yan’s forehead.
Ji Yan reached out to touch her forehead and said with a faint smile, “It’s all right. I just accidentally hit my head.”
The director didn’t ask much and Ji Yan went straight to the point, “Director, if my mother has a mental record, can she still stay in this hospital?”
“A mental record?”
Ji Yan pursed her lips and said, “My mother was sent to a psychiatric hospital in Averland by her guardian. Her medical record was fabricated. My mother didn’t have a mental illness at that time, but a genetic disease.”
“But now… Now, I’m not sure about her condition.” Ji Yan lowered her head sadly.
The director was deep in thought. He didn’t expect Ji Yan’s mother’s situation to be complicated. If a fake medical record was involved, it would lead to many implications.
But this was concerning Ji Yan’s family, and he couldn’t ask more. He only said, “We could only examine your mother again. If your mother has a mental illness now, she couldn’t be treated in this hospital.”
Although Ji Yan was disappointed, she knew that he was merely stating facts. She stood up and sincerely thanked him, “Thank you, Director. I will come by to deal with the formalities after I bring my mother back home.”
“Very well. My surname is Fu.” Mr. Fu also stood up and handed Ji Yan a business card. It was a rare move but Ji Yan did not know. He admired this filial daughter, so he put away some tedious work to answer some of her questions.
At that point, Ji Yan still didn’t know that Dr. Fu had an inseparably close relationship with her.
Shang Yu An listened to the report with a gloomy face. Although he did not find out the whole situation, it was impossible to hide the fact that Ji Gui had been humiliated and thrown back to the Ji family’s door.
He suddenly felt that the Ji family regarded him as a fool. Did they think that he would be silly enough to pick up a disgraced woman as his wife?
Shang Yu An held back his anger. It was not the time to turn against them yet. Ji Yan had just married Shang Jinshen and he was not yet fully prepared. He was unsure if he could win against Shang Jinshen or the Ji family.
Although the Ji family looked poor, he wouldn’t have given up on Ji Yan and accepted Ji Gui if it weren’t for his needs. Hmph, the Ji family really had some balls.
Shang Yu An stepped on the accelerator and took out his phone to dial Ji Yan’s number. Ji Yan was strolling on the side of the road. When she saw Shang Yu An’s call, she was so annoyed that she rejected it immediately.
But after a while, her phone rang again. Ji Yan turned it off without saying anything. She had nothing to say to Shang Yu An.
However, she didn’t expect a Lamborghini to stop in front of her. When Ji Yan saw Shang Yu An through the window, she turned around and wanted to leave.
Shang Yu An got out of the car immediately and walked to her, shouting weakly, “Ji Yan, don’t sulk with me, okay?”
He thought she was sulking? It was ridiculous. Ji Yan was speechless. She turned around and walked away, but Shang Yu An did not intend to let her go and stopped in front of her.
Ji Yan impatiently scowled, “Shang Yu An, what the h*ll do you want? Also, how did you know I’m here?”
Shang Yu An said shamelessly, “Ji Yan, you know how I feel about you. I’m worried about your safety, so I used to locate your phone when we were together.”
“What?” Ji Yan widened her eyes and looked at her cell phone as if she was looking at a bomb. She didn’t know that she had been monitored for so many years!
She didn’t believe a word that he said. Ji Yan threw the phone in the middle of the road without hesitation, and the next second, it was crushed by a passing car.
Shang Yu An looked at her with a pale face as if he couldn’t believe her overreaction.
“Shang Yu An, did you see that? Our relationship has been the same as that phone for a long time. It’s so broken that nothing is left! Please don’t bother me anymore.”
Ji Yan did not hide her disgust. Her affection for him was long gone, along with his betrayal. It was good enough that she did not resent him.
Shang Yu An did not believe Ji Yan’s words. He still thought Ji Yan was mad that he chose Ji Gui. How could the three-year relationship between them be gone like that? He could not accept it and would not allow it. Ji Yan was the woman he had loved sincerely. He could abandon Ji Yan, but Ji Yan could not refuse him!
He grabbed Ji Yan’s arm and the veins on his face bulged. He said in a harsh voice, “Ji Yan, don’t push me.”
“You are my woman. Don’t forget that we have been together for three years. No one can compare with our feelings.”
“Wait for me. I will end my relationship with Ji Gui soon. At that time, you will be my only wife.”
Ji Yan looked at Shang Yu An’s self-righteous confession sarcastically. She wanted to slap him fiercely and tell him to stop dreaming! Compared with Shang Yu An’s hypocritical attitude, Shang Jinshen’s cruel nature felt more real. At least, Shang Jinshen never bothered to disguise himself.
“Shang Yu An, look behind you. Perhaps your fiancee is as despicable as you. She has probably placed a tracker on someone else’s phone too.” Ji Yan lifted the corner of her mouth and looked at Ji Gui, who was behind Shang Yu An, staring at them with anger.
Shang Yu An frowned, turned his head and saw Ji Gui. He snorted coldly and didn’t want to put on his pretence around Ji Gui anymore. He looked at her coldly.
Ji Gui did not believe in Shang Yu An’s attitude. Why would Shang Yu An, who doted on her all day, have such an expression on his face?
Ji Gui’s eyes were as sharp as a knife and shot towards Ji Yan. That b*tch must have hooked up with Yu An and bewitched him.
She stepped forward and blurted out, “Ji Yan, you shameless b*tch, why don’t you go to h*ll?”
