Chapter 66 Next Relationship?

Book:Ex-husband, Let Me Go Published:2024-6-2

At daybreak the next day, Ji Yan woke up. She looked at her position and suddenly came to her senses. Thinking of the fact that she was forced to sleep on the same bed with Shang Jinshen last night, she suddenly blushed and felt embarrassed.
She carefully rubbed the empty space next to her and sat up with a sigh of relief. After a while, she got up in a daze and was ready to make breakfast.
Mrs. Shang usually got up late, so she had to make breakfast before Mrs. Shang got up. She was not doing this to please her, but she also didn’t want to be criticized.
After breakfast, Mrs. Shang went out as she had made a facial appointment with other noble ladies. Ji Yan cherished her free time very much. She took out her notebook and seriously began to work on her design.
She definitely did not want to be idle all day. Ji Yan would never give up on designing, so she thought that she might be able to start a studio by herself.
However, due to her lack of experience, she couldn’t start off blindly. The most important thing was to accumulate some people’s connections.
Thinking of the fact that she knew a lot of company clients back then, Ji Yan planned to open a startup with Li Wenjing to try out her luck.
When Li Wenjing first heard of Ji Yan’s idea on the phone, she immediately nodded in agreement. The two of them were ready to start their own business. Although the beginning may be difficult and tough, Ji Yan and Li Wenjing were full of confidence.
During her meeting with Li Wenjing, she saw that she was down, so Ji Yan asked, “What’s wrong? What happened?”
Li Wenjing let out a dejected sigh and said, “I broke up with that b*stard Shao Kai.”
Hmm? Broke up? Didn’t they just get together? Ji Yan was very puzzled.
Li Wenjing finally had someone to talk to, and she began to spit out her rants. “Did you know that because of your resignation, the boss was so angry that he scolded the manager and the manager pulled Shao Kai down with him?”
After Ji Yan resigned, she did not care about the company’s affairs. She nodded at the moment and said, “What does it have to do with Shao Kai and you?”
Li Wenjing pouted angrily and said, “There’s no need to talk about it. Shao Kai blamed me for ruining his future, so he broke up with me. What a jerk.”
“Don’t be sad.” This was too unexpected. She did not know how to comfort her.
Li Wenjing waved her hand and said, “Forget about it. It doesn’t matter. I’ll just wait for the next relationship.”
Ji Yan agreed silently. She should not have to worry about Li Wenjing.
Li Wenjing’s mood changed very fast. After that outburst, there she was leaning over to Ji Yan and asking, “Hey, hey, did your young master and you…”
Ji Yan pushed her head away grumpily. “Don’t make fun of me. We’re not like what you think.” Even she couldn’t identify her relationship with Shang Jinshen.
Li Wenjing curled her lips and drank the juice out of boredom. Then, she began to discuss design matters with Ji Yan.
Li Wenjing suddenly remembered Rio and said, “Didn’t Rio say that you would be welcomed at any time? If you can join Rio, then everything else would be easy.”
Ji Yan also suddenly remembered that too. But she only thought about it for a moment and proceed to shake her head.
“To have a skyrocketing rise may not be a good thing. It’s useless if you don’t have the capability even if we go to Rio. Let’s just start from the bottom and work our way up ourselves.” Besides, Shang Jinshen would never agree to let her leave North River City to work with Rio. She was clear about this, and she did not intend to challenge Shang Jinshen’s authority on this.
Ji Yan also did not think much about the reason she put this idea aside. Only she knew it in her own heart that it was either she was afraid to provoke Shang Jinshen or she genuinely did not want to leave Shang Jinshen.
After bidding goodbye to Li Wenjing, Ji Yan took the lunch box to the Shang Corp. She didn’t expect to run into Shang Jinshen when he came down with Lan Si.
She opened her eyes wide and seemed like she was about to turn around and escape.
However, Shang Jinshen only sat there quietly and arrogantly, which made her unable to move. Ji Yan secretly scolded herself for being worthless and threatened by his presence.
She braced herself to look at Shang Jinshen. She was feeling very uncomfortable and her face turned red as she recalled what happened in the bathroom the night before.
Shang Jinshen on the other hand glanced at her as if nothing had happened. Lan Si went and drove the car over.
Shang Jinshen said slowly, “Just put it in the car.”
Am I your nanny? Ji Yan still obediently handed it over to Lan Si despite scolding him.
Watching the car drive away, Ji Yan’s face darkened and she walked back listlessly.
Ji Yan took a taxi to the lawyer’s firm and planned to consult on the situation of becoming her mother’s guardian. It was not easy to threaten the Ji family to pay the medical bills for her mother for a year. The best way was to take back the guardianship rights so that she would no longer have to be subject to the Ji family.
The lawyer gave her the most reasonable solution to her situation which was to bring her mother back into the country, into a domestic hospital, for treatment.
Ji Yan had always wanted to bring her mother back to her side. She hadn’t seen her mother for many years. All this while, she could only look at the photos sent by the dean. In the past, she relied on the Ji family, so there was nothing she could do. But now she was determined to take care of her mother herself.
Ji Yan left the office and went to contact the best local hospitals, hoping to solve this problem as soon as possible.
Ji Yan ran around until night fell. Only then did she return to the Shang family.
After getting off the bus, it was still an hour’s distance from the bus stop to the Shang family manor. Although it was a rich district, there was basically no one on the road because it was in the suburbs.
Amid the rows of dim-yellow street lamps, Ji Yan’s thin shadow was reflected on the ground, it looked lonely.
Ji Yan was still thinking about her own things and did not pay attention to the shadow following behind her.
When she came to senses, it was already too late. Her mouth had been covered by the black shadow. She opened her eyes in horror and tried to shake off the hands that smelled like smoke, but she was no match for the black shadow.
“Mmph! Mm…” Ji Yan’s heart was beating faster as she struggled desperately.
The black shadow looked around with some concern. He was afraid that the woman’s struggle would attract others. He didn’t give up and directly hit Ji Yan’s neck to knock her out of consciousness. He then picked up the unconscious woman and hurried away from the suburbs.
“Hey, Lao Hei, have you tied her up?”
Lao Hei puffed on his cigarette and glanced at the beautiful woman who was unconscious in the corner. He said in a rough and unpleasant voice, “Mm, what do you want me to do?”
The woman on the other side of the phone raised the corner of her mouth with satisfaction, and said wickedly and viciously, “I want her to lose her reputation! I want her to be ruined!” The man said to himself wickedly, “Ji Yan, you will no longer be called Madam Shang! Hmph, after tonight, I am afraid that the Shang family would you anymore. Ji Yan, you will never win me!”
Hearing this, Lao Hei spat out a mouthful of saliva. There was a hint of lust in Lao Hei’s eyes and it was disgusting. He greedily asked on the phone, “Where is the money?”
The woman frowned disgustedly on the phone. “Haven’t I given you the deposit? The rest will be given to you when it’s done.”
