Book:Ex-husband, Let Me Go Published:2024-6-2

Looking at the time, Ji Yan was a little worried that if she went home late, she would be chastised again. She turned to Li Wenjing and said, “Wenjing, it’s too late. I’ll invite you to dinner next time. I have to leave first today.”
“Oh, well, that’s okay.” Li Wenjing was disappointed, but she agreed in understanding.
Ji Yan waved at her with a smile. Just as she was about to leave, a figure stopped her. When Ji Yan raised her head and saw Shang Yu An, her face darkened.
After stepping away and keeping a safe distance from Shang Yu An, Ji Yan asked impatiently, “Shang Yu An, why are you here?” Why was this man so persistent?
Shang Yu An didn’t answer her question. Instead, he stared at the bag of medical ointments in her hand and asked with a frown, “Ji Yan, are you injured?”
Ji Yan hid the bag behind her. “No.”
Shang Yu An didn’t believe her. He looked at Li Wenjing, who had not yet left, and asked, “Is she injured?”
Seeing that Shang Yu An was handsome and called Ji Yan intimately, Li Wenjing nodded.
Shang Yu An suddenly became anxious and stepped forward to check where Ji Yan was hurt. Ji Yan dodged immediately, frowned, and then said in disgust, “Shang Yu An, it’s none of your business.”
“Stop it, Ji Yan. Let me see if it’s serious or not.”
Ji Yan looked around, afraid that Shang Jinshen would appear in the vicinity like what happened before. She couldn’t allow any more misunderstandings between them.
But in the next second, her heart suddenly tightened as if someone was grasping it tightly. She looked into the cold pair of black eyes of the man sitting in the black car not far away. Her face paled.
Shang Yu An didn’t see Shang Jinshen. He was pulling at Ji Yan’s hand, but Ji Yan ignored the pain in her arm and struggled. She felt as if she had fallen into an icy lake because of Shang Jinshen’s mocking eyes. She wondered how this person would frame her when she went back.
Li Wenjing felt Ji Yan’s disgust for the man through her struggle. She came to her senses and pushed Ji Yan behind her then stood guard. She looked at Shang Yu An with hostility. “Don’t touch her.”
Shang Yu An was stunned. Then he looked displeased. Just as he was about to lose his temper, he heard Ji Yan’s cold voice.
“Shang Yu An, didn’t you see your brother’s car? Shouldn’t you play the role of a good brother at this time?” Ji Yan looked at Shang Yu An contemptuously as he glanced around his surroundings cautiously. When he saw Shang Jinshen’s eyes on him, he shook, turned around, and left without hesitation.
Ji Yan looked at Shang Yu An’s fleeing back and could not help but laugh at herself. How could she love this man who would abandon her once he was threatened? To think she loved him for three years…
“Wenjing, go back first.” Pushing away Li Wenjing’s hand, Ji Yan gave her a reassuring look and then plucked up the courage to walk towards the black car.
Shang Jinshen looked at her in an obscure way. He slightly twitched the corners of his mouth and said with a sneer, “What’s wrong? Did you look for your old lover for comfort once you’re hurt?”
He was such a mean person. Ji Yan looked at Shang Jinshen’s face and did not know what to feel in her heart. She took a breath, opened the door, and got in the car. She looked steadily at him and said, “It’s up to you to interpret it.”
The cold-faced assistant didn’t dare to look at the husband-and-wife duo sitting in the back seat, so he quickly started the car.
“Have you found a backer? I thought you would wag your tail and beg me to listen to your explanation.”
Ji Yan calmly turned her head. “I don’t think explaining anything is useful. My explanation would pale in comparison to the truth from your mouth. In any case, no one will believe me, even if what I said is true.”
Shang Jinshen’s eyes darkened. He knew that this stupid woman was talking about what happened last night. He smiled and said, “You finally understand, Ji Yan. You only need to understand that you should follow whatever I want you to do.”
Ji Yan raised the corners of her mouth and said, “It’s a very bloody recognition.”
Shang Jinshen’s pupils shrank. For the first time, he saw the submission in Ji Yan’s eyes. However, rather than admitting defeat, it was more like she had given up resistance.
“Are you blaming me for using the family rules on you?” He slowly approached her and breathed out hot air dangerously in her ear.
She looked at him seriously and could not deny that she trembled because of his closeness and hot breath. “Shang Jinshen, am I qualified to blame you? To you, I’m just a pet that you can hit, scold, and humiliate, right?” He would tease her when he was in a good mood and torture her when he was not.
“A pet?” Shang Jinshen mulled over the word playfully and looked at her mockingly. However, the words he said were unkind. “You deserve this identity.”
“Ji Yan, be good. Don’t try to break free from this cage, understand?” His hand slipped over her face like a wandering snake and fell on her slender neck.
Ji Yan instantly felt suffocated. Her body was in pain, her heart was in pain, and her whole being was in great pain.
When they got out of the car, Ji Yan’s legs were weak. The assistant pushed Shang Jinshen’s wheelchair. Before she entered the door, she heard Mrs. Shang’s curses.
“Where’s that b*tch? Son, she hasn’t come back home since early in the morning! I think she can’t wait to go out and cheat on you.”
“Mrs. Shang,” Ji Yan heard Mrs. Shang’s humiliating words and quickly walked into the living room, “I am back.”
No matter what, she couldn’t let these unpleasant words spread out. She couldn’t shame the Ji family.
“Oh, do I have to welcome you when you come back? Where did you go today?” The corner of Mrs. Shang’s eyes raised and she was so aggressive.
“I went to work,” Ji Yan said, clenching her fists tightly. Shang Jinshen looked on from the side, his eyes full of ridicule.
“Work? I have already told you to quit work. Don’t go out and make a fool of yourself. How can you not listen to me?”
Ji Yan could compromise in every way except for work, which was her only hope. She stood there silently.
“Mom, when I got off work and passed by their company, she was entangled with Shang Yu An at the door of the drugstore,” Shang Jinshen said lightly. His words were undoubtedly adding fuel to the fire. After all, Mrs. Shang hated Shang Yu An the most as he was an illegitimate child.
Ji Yan’s heart trembled. She looked up at Shang Jinshen as blood oozed out from her tight fists.
“How dare you! Did you cheat with Shang Yu An? B*tch, I can’t let you go. Madam Zhang, give me yesterday’s whip.” Mrs. Shang was furious. She had her hands on her waist as she glared at Ji Yan.
Ji Yan bit her lip tightly and her body trembled violently. She knew that she would not be able to escape.
Madam Zhang couldn’t bear to watch it again, but she didn’t dare to disobey Mrs. Shang. She lowered her head to take the whip.
Ji Yan learned her lesson and knew that it was useless to explain, so she stood there and let Mrs. Shang whip her body. She did nothing wrong. She didn’t kneel like the day before, but her weak body couldn’t support her pride at all, so she fell to the ground.
Mrs. Shang did not budge. The whip landed on Ji Yan’s body, causing her to break out in cold sweat. However, she refused to cry out. Instead, she bit her lips tightly and shut her eyes.
