The former director looked at Li Ying in horror, “Why did you hit her with a cup? Didn’t we agree that you’ll just get even? You’d better be careful or else you’ll kill her.”
Li Ying swallowed a mouthful of saliva and grabbed her satchel. Then, she walked towards Ji Yan in a panic.
“D*mn woman, stop pretending. Get up quickly.”
Li Ying said as she stretched out her foot and kicked Ji Yan’s abdomen with the heels of her high-heeled shoes.
Ji Yan got choked by the smell of the paint in her throat. She wanted to get up, but her whole body hurt so much that her bones felt as if they were about to break.
The customers in the cafe surrounded them one after another. Li Ying and the former director saw that the matter was getting out of control, so they flew away with their heads down.
“Miss, wake up! Wake up!”
The waitress squatted down beside Ji Yan. She saw that Ji Yan did not respond and rushed to the crowd and shouted, “Does any of you know her? Call an ambulance quickly!”
Shang Yu An happened to finish his work in the company and came downstairs to get coffee. He also went to the crowd when he heard the waitress’s voice.
“Ji Yan!”
When Shang Yu An saw Ji Yan lying in the middle of the red liquid puddle, he felt like his heart was going to stop.
His first reaction was to push the crowd aside and rush over.
“Ji Yan, what happened to you?”
Shang Yu An held Ji Yan in his arms and patted her on the face with one of his hands.
Ji Yan tried hard to open her eyes while enduring great pain, but her eyelids felt heavy. Before she completely lost consciousness, she saw Shang Jinshen’s deep and secretive face flash by.
When Ji Yan opened her eyes again, she first saw the hospital ceiling with water stains above her.
“Ji Yan, you’re finally awake!”
Shang Yu An put down the towel in his hand and grabbed Ji Yan’s hand, “Luckily you’re awake! You scared me to death.”
The nurse on the side looked at Ji Yan and laughed.
“Miss, you are so lucky. It was your boyfriend who took care of you when you were in a coma. After the doctor treated the paint on your hands and face carefully, he cleaned up the rest for you. He was so thoughtful.”
Ji Yan sat up with her body propped up and turned a deaf ear to the young nurse’s words.
“Let go!” Ji Yan was so weak that she wanted to pull her hand back, but Shang Yu An held onto her more tightly.
“Ji Yan, don’t be agitated. Listen! There’s a misunderstanding between us!” Shang Yu An said while glancing at the insensible nurse on the other side and said, “Could you please go out first?”
After seeing the nurse leave, Shang Yu An took Ji Yan’s hand and sat down beside her bed.
“Ji Yan, listen to me explain, Ji and I…”
Before Shang Yu An could finish his words, Ji Yan pulled out her hand with all her strength and interrupted him.
“I’m not interested in your affairs. Please leave.”
Shang Yu An looked at Ji Yan’s decisive look and felt that his heart was breaking inch by inch.
He also knew Ji Yan’s temper well. It was not good to annoy her about this at this time.
“Ji Yan, I know you need money now,” Shang Yu An said as he took out a check and put it on Ji Yan’s quilt, “The most important thing for you now is to have a good rest first. Call me any time if you need help.”
Ji Yan looked at the 500 million check and instinctively wanted to refuse him, but Shang Jinshen’s words from the previous night rang in her mind again.
At this moment, Ji Yan’s cell phone rang, and Shang Yu An quickly handed it over.
Before Ji Yan answered the phone call, she heard a cold voice at the ward’s door.
“Shang Yu An, when did my wife have to end up in need of your help?”
