Chapter 15 “Shang Jinshen, I Didn’t Cheat on You”

The atmosphere inside the car was too depressing. If it weren’t for the fact that a living person was sitting next to her, Ji Yan might have thought that she was sitting inside the refrigerator.
She was about to say something, but she didn’t dare to look at his sullen face.
“Shang Jinshen, I didn’t cheat on you.”
She raised her small face and looked serious.
But she felt a little guilty because of the accident that night.
Shang Jinshen turned to the side, his dark and cold gaze fixed in front of him. He did not plan to respond to her.
He was not deaf, was he?
Ji Yan took a deep breath and mustered up her courage to raise her volume, “Shang Jinshen, I really haven’t done anything to hurt you!”
His eyes flashed faintly. He finally moved a little. He slowly turned around to look at her with no emotions, “And so?”
“And then what!”
Ji Yan was so angry that she almost passed out, but she listened to him and said coldly, “The Shang family has lost all its reputation. What else do you want to explain?”
His words were more hurtful than the tip of a knife. Suddenly, Ji Yan felt heart-wrenching pain. She held back her grievances and found it extremely hilarious, “Nothing, you always think that I have disgraced the Shang family’s reputation, don’t you?”
Shang Jinshen didn’t respond, but she became more agitated, “Since I was married into the Shang family, you guys have been ignoring me ever since! You all think that I’m nothing like Ji Gui. Do you all think I’m willing to marry in her stead?”
How large was this world? There was an endless sea of people. Yet not a single person doted on her, loved her, knew her, or understood her!
Ji Yan could no longer control her emotions and burst into tears.
She could still tolerate it when people rolled their eyes, ridiculed her, or even verbally abuse her.
But she couldn’t stand his contempt. What right did he have to dislike her?
“Shang Jinshen, what else do you have other than money?”
Shang Jinshen’s heart skipped a beat when he heard her unyielding voice. He turned around and saw her raising her small face stubbornly. Her eyes were red and full of tears. She was full of grievance and innocence.
At this moment, Shang Jinshen felt a hint of pain in his heart as if he could relate to her.
Was he feeling sorry for her?
He turned around and looked at her fiercely, “I have money, and what do you have?”
Ji Yan was stunned. There was a little astonishment in her eyes, but then she gave a wry smile.
Yes, she had nothing.
What right did she have to say that about him?
“It’s precisely because of this that I feel that I’m even more pathetic.”
She murmured, and her voice was a little hoarse, “After living in this world for so many years, I’m really useless. I have nothing…”
She was not even as good as him…
Shang Jinshen did not speak. There was a long silence in the car. After a long time, his sullen face slightly relaxed.
“You have me.”
Ji Yan raised her head, afraid that she had just heard it wrong. Her lips moved, and there were still tears on her eyelashes. She wanted to say something, but she did not say it out loud in the end.
When they arrived at the Shang family’s manor, Ji Yan was sleeping soundly on his lap.
After crying, her small pink face was still stained with tears, and the dim light outside the window shone in. Her long and curly eyelashes covered her eyelids, and her breathing was even.
His slender fingers slid across her cheeks, and his fingertips landed on her soft lips.
The driver in front asked, “Mr. Shang, do you want to wake Madam Ji Yan up?”
He didn’t say a word, and the driver stood outside the car respectfully while waiting for him.
Ji Yan didn’t wake up until the evening. When she woke up, she found herself lying on Shang Jinshen’s bed, and she was a little embarrassed.
She actually fell asleep while crying…
Furthermore, she did it in front of Shang Jinshen.
There was a knock on the door, and she quickly got out of bed. Madam Zhang stood outside the door with a loving smile, “Madam Ji Yan, you’re awake. Mr. Shang has ordered us to heat the food once you’re awake. You must be hungry already.”
This was the first time Ji Yan felt the spring breeze-like care and concern in the Shang family.
She nodded blankly, “I’ll wash up and come out immediately.”
What Shang Jinshen said echoed in her mind repeatedly when she was eating the egg porridge.
You have me.
Her face suddenly turned red. She lowered her head and took a big sip of the porridge. She must have misheard it.
How could Shang Jinshen, that devil, say something like that to her?
