Unfortunately, the driver was driving at a reckless pace and was unable to stop in time. When he did, they had already arrived at their mansion’s entrance.
Lucinda sighed and cast a backward glance in the direction of the girl.
Perhaps she was hallucinating?
She gave a small head shake and nervously entered the Gonzalez estate. She anticipated seeing her mother in the existing room, keeping an eye on what was happening upstairs with Lenora and Frederick.
It was absolutely different from that, though. The house was in disarray!
Maids running up and down as if in search of something.
“Mom?” she called out upon glimpsing Priscilla on the stairs.
“Lucy, come here quickly.”
Frowning, she went up only to halt at once when she saw Frederick lying cold on the ground.
“Do you think he’s dead? That bitch did this!”
With a panicked expression, Lucinda went to check her pulse breathing a sigh of relief seconds later. “He’s alive. The old fools just passed out. Where is Lenora?”
She ran away! I don’t understand how she accomplished it. Priscilla cried out in rage. “With the amount of aphrodisiac in both the food and drugs, it’s impossible for her to leave here alone.”
Immediately, Lucinda cursed as she recalled the girls she had earlier seen. “Damn it! The fence! They shouldn’t have gone too far.”

“Big sister, will you be fine?”
“I will. Tomorrow, we’ll get together. This hotel is secure, and unless you permit it, the staff won’t share your information with anyone.
As they arrived at the hotel that Lenora had recommended, Inari felt that Lenora should be examined by a doctor, but Lenora rejected her, saying she has to go home.
Is it because of her husband? Does Preston maltreat his wife?
Lenora sighed as the heat she was feeling subsided thirty minutes later as she sank into a tub of ice-cold water.
She started scrubbing her body with rage as soon as her thoughts started replaying what had transpired at the Gonzalez.
She felt disgusted with herself for trusting them. How could she be such a fool?
The Gonzalez family knew her weakness, they know she craves family warmth and so they used that against her. She is usually smart but at that moment, Lenora felt like a big idiot.
Her body was almost pruned by the time she dropped the sponge. Feeling queasy, she jumped out of the tub, puking everything that was left in her tummy.
Her body was as pale as a piece of paper when Lenora exited the restroom. She hadn’t taken two paces out when the bedroom door opened and Preston strolled in.
Stunned by his appearance, Lenora screams in shock as he enters, her hands flying toward the towel encircling her chest.”You! You should have knocked!”
“Why?” Preston stops mid-step and looks at her intently, searching for who knows what. Lenora only becomes more self-aware as a result!
This is the first time he was seeing her like this! She was simply exasperated that the thought of what happened earlier disappeared for a moment.
“As your husband, is it wrong of me to walk in on you?” he asks while walking towards her slowly.
Something is wrong! Lenora quickly sensed this as she stared at her husband.
Usually, whenever he teases her, there’ll be a hint of a smile in his eyes or a smirk playing on his lips.
However, this time, his eyes were cold.
There was no smile on his face whatsoever. Lenora has never seen this side of him before. Even when he tied her up as punishment, he wasn’t this cold.
Has anything happened? Or… Did he already learn about what occurred at the Gonzalez?
When he got close, she took a step back and clenched her fists on the towel as if her life depended on it. “Preston…” she muttered as her back contacts the door and she has no escape.
Before she thought of running off through the side, Preston trapped her in with his hand.
Preston raised a finger and delicately caressed her pale cheek as she turned to face him. “Have I ever told you that you are gorgeous?”
Lenora’s face began to flush right away. She looked down timidly, unsure of what to do.
What has gotten into him today? She thought wondering how to escape.
That was until he added…
“Are you okay, wife? You look so pale…”
It was a simple question yet, Lenora didn’t know what came over her.
Her lips quivered and tears filled her eyes immediately.
The next moment, she flung herself into his arms and burst out crying.
Preston patted her hair softly without saying anything, a malicious glint flashing in his deep blue eyes. Nobody knew what was going on in his head, but they could all sense that something was undoubtedly brewing within him.
Rage.
Of course, he learnt that Lenora went out today after receiving the document he has prepared for her. He had assumed she would visit the company first, but he never seems to be right about his predictions when it comes to Lenora.
She must have gone to the Gonzalez instead!
You might be perplexed as to why he would frame his wife for a crime. He was allowing her easy access to the Gonzalez business, after all.
He wasn’t just interested in seeing how she would respond to the circumstance; he also wanted her to take revenge.
But that didn’t mean he would stand by and watch as his wife was bullied! Only he gets to do that.
Lenora’s sobs eventually subsided. The moment she became aware that the two of them were standing so close she quickly pulled back, her face turning pink from embarrassment.
“Sorry.”
Goodness! She can’t believe she broke down. That has never happened before!
Preston wrinkled his nose in disgust. “Ew! That’s right. My favourite shirt is now covered in snot and tears, what should we do about that?”
Lenora glared at him, her blush growing more intense. Humph, apparently, this Preston is the one she was familiar with. She was grateful that he didn’t ask about it though.
Suddenly, Preston took her hand. “Come on.”
“What? Where are you going?”
Preston paused, “You are right.” he took off his stained shirt tossed it to the ground and then drag Lenora out once more.
Lenora was abashed!
First, she was only donning a piece of towel, while Preston was bare-chested, only putting on a short…
What will the maids think when they see them like this?
“Preston! Hold on a minute.” she half yelled just as they stepped out of the room.
Halting, he glanced at her, “Yes?”
“People will see. Let me put something on first.”
“No!” he rejected instantly.
“No?” Lenora blinked in confusion.
“If people don’t see us interacting romantically, don’t you think their doubts about our marriage would grow?”
“Ughh, I guess…”
“If you don’t want anyone seeing us then better hurry up!” Preston added and continued dragging her along.
Lenora was speechless but she could only hold on to the towel tightly with her left hand while trying to meet up with Preston’s long legs.
It didn’t take long before they arrived in a massage room, one that Lenora never knew existed. Then again, she hasn’t really explored this mansion.
As she glanced around, she couldn’t help but wonder why Preston brought her here. There was no one else in the room but the massage table, lit scented candles, towels, and other oils put nearby.
The door shut behind her making her spin around to look at her husband who was walking towards her.
His next remarks startled the living daylights out of her as soon as he stopped in front of her.
“Take it off.”
Her eyes widened. “What?”
Preston leaned in so that his peppermint breath fanning her face. “Strip, wife. Take. Off. The. Towel.”
He muttered and Lenora’s heart stopped.
