After the talk with Rafael, Nicole couldn’t fall asleep or do anything else again, she just sat and listened, Rafael said he will come and get them and she didn’t want to be asleep when that happened, she told her sister to sleep so that she can be on watch, it seems like the younger guy finally left because she hasn’t seen him since after their talk the other day. She silently prayed that Rafael will come for them tonight, she didn’t want to spend a third night here, she wanted to go home, go home not to her family’s mansion but to the house she shared with Rafael, even if he doesn’t want to live in the mansion anymore she would stay with him at his new house, anywhere he was would be her home, she couldn’t wait to tell him that she was sorry for everything and that she loves him so much,
Nicole heard the noise in the distance, not just any kind of noise, vehicles were entering where they are, she quickly got up and walked to where Natalie lay.
“Natie? Natie? I think help is here, there are vehicles in the building,”
Nicole said. Natalie got up rubbing her eyes that were stained with tears, she must have been crying in her sleep,
“What?”
“I don’t know if I am right but I think help is here, vehicles are entering,”
She said standing up to go check through the window but she couldn’t see anything, she came back to where her sister was.
“Oh my God, let it be please, I don’t want to stay here for another moment,”
Natalie said getting up, the door opened in seconds and Leonard walked in with a gun in his hand, his companion followed right behind him also holding a gun, she reached out and held Natalie’s hand in fear, they exchanged look of fright, Leonard was furious.
“I told your husband not to bring the police here but he foolishly didn’t listen to me, did he really think he can get me?”
Leonard asked, pulling her up, she tried to free herself but he held her tight.
“Let me go,”
She said dragging her hands away from him, the door opened again and the father of the other guy came in, he too was looking scary, he had a gun.
“We can’t move together, you take one of the girls, I will take the other, if only your stupid son hadn’t bailed out, we could have done much better.”
Leonard said he was clearly upset.
“Is that why you shot him? I told you not to fucking pull the trigger but you did, you killed my son,”
“Shut up and do as I say,”
Leonard yelled at the man who was pacing up and down.
“You can’t tell me to shut up, I did everything you told me so far, you aren’t my boss we are supposed to be partners, you can’t be ordering me, you had no right to kill my son,”
The man yelled back, pointing his gun at Leonard.
Oh no, Nicole thought feeling like throwing up, he was dead, he said it that he would be dead before he can leave and he hadn’t been joking, if the man could kill his partner what will he do to her if she doesn’t cooperate, the thought scared her so much, she felt pity for the poor guy too meeting his death at such a young age.
“Did you think I did that without thinking? If he is found on time he will survive it, I didn’t shoot him where he will die, don’t make me kill you instead, take the other twin, we can’t move together, I will meet you there, don’t let anybody stop you, shoot anyone that comes your way but make sure the twins are alive, I need to get my money,”
He commanded, at least he wasn’t dead yet and they might not die too but they were going to be separated and she didn’t want that, Natalie was looking at them so scared and tears were running down her eyes again.
“Fine, if anything happens to my son,”
“Just shut the fuck up and start moving,”
Leonard yelled.
“We will be fine Natalie,”
Nicole said reaching out for her sister’s hand as Leonard pulled her away.
“Nicole, leave me alone, don’t touch me,”
She heard Natalie yell as Leonard dragged her out of the house, her eyes grew heavy with tears too, they left the house they were complete, he went through a narrow step that went directly to the other stairs, she thought of pushing him down from the stairs but knew she might fall with him and she didn’t know how far the ground was from where they were.
“Why are you doing this? Please let us go,”
“Shut up, I was going to let you go but your stupid husband decided not to play by the rules, blame him if anything happens to you and your sister, I hate it when things don’t go my way,”
He yelled and fired a shot into the air.
“Please stop,”
Nicole cried but he didn’t, he kept pulling her with him and climbing down the stairs, it was dark and she kept tripping, each step she took made her even more scared, she fell once and lost her unborn child if she falls again then history will repeat itself, she didn’t want that, couldn’t let that happen, she needed to act, she couldn’t just blindly follow this man out of here, what would happen then? He said he won’t harm them but what if he does? This was her chance, he was so concentrated on dragging her down the stairs that his own guard was down around her, she acted on impulse and pushed him as far as her strength could carry her, he didn’t see it coming, he let go of her hand to steady himself and she watched him fall to the bottom of the stairs, she stood rooted there for a moment looking at his still body, before her brain reconnected with her body and told her to run, she did then, she ran down the stairs and ran in the direction of the light, she could hear him groan in pain as she tried to find the exit, but she couldn’t find one, everywhere was locked.
“You stupid girl, do you think you can run from me? You are as stupid as the man you married if you can’t just follow instructions,”
He yelled as he staggered towards her pointing a gun at her, if only she could get that gun, she hadn’t thought of it, she should have collected the gun from him as soon as he fell, she felt stupid.
“Let me go, turn yourself in, there is no way you will get out of here,”
Nicole cried.
“You are stupid, you think I came this far just to turn myself in? I will rather die, and mind you I will not go down alone, one more word from you and I will blow off your brain, money be damn,”
He yelled at her and walked closer to her, Nicole bit down on her lips looking from left to right, looking for a way out but there was none, she didn’t have any choice, she couldn’t do anything until they were out of here, she wasn’t going to follow him out of this place and that was certain, he reached out and grabbed her going the other direction, so this was where the entrance was, why didn’t she go that way? The door busted open before they got to it, Nicole yelled, the whole place suddenly got light from the outside.
