First things first, he has to do something about Nicole’s security, he couldn’t bring harm to her, or her twin whoever it was knew she was his weakness and was targeting her, heck he didn’t even know who he was dealing with, he just knew that he had to do something, he picked up his phone and dialed his chief security officer.
“Can you arrange for some men to be around my wife for the time being? And report to my office in the next thirty minutes, I have something to talk to you about,”
He instructed.
“Yes, sir, it will be done and I will be on my way,”
He responded and Rafael ended the call, he couldn’t play with Nicole’s safety, if the threats were for him he wouldn’t have even given much thought to it, he has seen his shares of a death threat and stuff but Nicole shouldn’t be dragged into it, Rafael went up into his office in the mind to wait for his security officer, he was there in minutes and Rafael told him everything about the call and gave the number to him and showed him the photos.
“This doesn’t look like empty threats to me, so yes getting her bodyguards is the right thing to do, we don’t want to take any chances,”
Lance said when Rafael finished explaining and showing him the photos that were sent, Lance took a few minutes looking at the photo before looking up at him again.
“Definitely not just a threat,”
He said again.
“I agree but Nicole might go crazy if she finds out that I have men on her back, she never liked it but she might have changed I am betting on that, just like look into this don’t leave anything untouched,”
“Okay, sir, I will get going now”
He said and stood up and left after he did, Rafael packed up the remaining files, and left the office, got in his car, and drove to the main office, he decided he would go see her after he was done with what he was doing, he knew he should call her first before he deploys the bodyguards but there was no time when her safety is the one in question and he didn’t want to talk to her on the phone not after they haven’t spoken for two whole weeks if he calls her now he was sure she would be mad at him and it will even be worst if the reason he calls is that she might be in danger because of him.
She would probably not talk to him again and ban him from coming close to her and he didn’t want that at all.
Rafael checked the time and it was already past nine pm, he didn’t mean to stay this long at the office but he hasn’t been there for two whole weeks and there had been so much for him to do, so he couldn’t leave which means he couldn’t meet up with Nicole like he earlier planned, and he had a meeting tomorrow morning which means he can only see her tomorrow afternoon, he would make sure to go see her tomorrow, he got into his car and drove home, he hadn’t been to the house for the whole two weeks and had been sleeping at the hotel close to the mine, the housing estate close to the mine where workers can stay with their families was still under construction.
He took his bath and laid on the bed just staring at the ceiling, he couldn’t fall asleep and Caleb’s thought filtered into his mind again, he still hasn’t heard from his friend and even Armani didn’t know a thing, he knew she was trying to be strong, Caleb disappearing on the both of them was something he hadn’t expected to happen but it has been over a month and still no news of him, his number was still not going through which means he might have ditched that number, Rafael just hopes that where ever he was that he was fine, as much as he wanted to launch a search for his friend, he knew Caleb will not like it, since he said he will be back, he just has to believe just words and wait for his return.
He got off the bed after trying to fall asleep without success and went to the living room, he was craving a beer but she couldn’t drink, there was too much going on right now for him to think of drinking.
He opened his phone and went through the photos again one after the other, trying to get a glimpse of who it might be that was taking the photo, he needed to know who he was fighting against in other for him to fight right back, he dialed the number again and it went through, he waited patiently for the person to pick up.
“Do you really want my attention that much? I just turned my phone on and you are the person calling, among everyone you are the only one responding so fast, and here I thought you will be the hard one, I guess love makes even the strongest weak,”
The caller voiced, the person talking was definitely someone who knew him and by what he said, this wasn’t being done to him alone, there were other people too, so this person has to have them all as enemies, he didn’t know who those people were, if he had a clue then he might know who it was, it was obvious that the person’s voice was altered, so he knew he couldn’t get anything from the voice.
“So it’s not just me?”
“You guess right, can’t just be you,”
“So who are the other and what did we do to you that you are after us?”
Rafael asked.
“I told you not to rush it, you will find out soon, I just need to put a little more things in place, and I saw that you have men watching that woman, should I let you know that they won’t even know when I strike? I will get what I want from you through her and you think I will let some bodyguard stop that? Anyway, prepare yourself, as the others are trying to play a fast one on me, I am going to teach them all a listen, if I am going down then we are all going down together,”
“Who are you? Can you stop being a coward and reveal yourself? Why are you hiding behind a cell phone like a fool?”
“You can’t use words to get me out young man, you need more than that, you will hear from me soon,”
He said and hung up, Rafael let out a breath, he knew that he deployed security men for Nicole, very soon she will know too, Because rather than the two he had initially asked for, he was going to have to triple that and he already knew Nicole isn’t going to like that, but he didn’t have a choice, he sent a message to his chief before going back to bed, not like he got much sleep there was so much on his mind for him to fall asleep…
