While others were busy having new year resolutions and planning out their life, for the first time in forever, Rafael didn’t have any nice plans for himself, everything was stuck, business, yeah it was going just fine and he was gaining billions each day from his numerous sectors, especially from the hotels since it was the holidays seasons, he wasn’t running at a loss, yet he felt lost, the mining deal was still pending and it was already the second day of the new year, he had spent new year day with Caleb, playing video games which he hadn’t done in forever, then when Caleb had left, he went back to being a loner.
At the beginning of the previous year, he had plans, plans which involved marrying a certain person just to acquire a certain property, which he had ended up forgetting about, he did end up married but he lost his purpose halfway after falling hopelessly in love, after that he sort for another way to get that trillionaire status and even that was still on hold, last year, his net worth did increase and it was still his most fruitful year but yet he felt like an epic fail.
He knew he needed to rebrand and regroup himself so he decided it would be best to take a break and spend the weekend away from Florida, to get his priorities straight again and the place he choose to go, Hawaii. He still couldn’t tell why he choose Hawaii because it still carries the same thing Florida carried yet even as he called the airport to get his jet ready he couldn’t think up somewhere else to be, so to Hawaii he went.
He didn’t use the vacation house that he and Nicole had used, it had so many memories that he knew he won’t stop thinking about it, so instead, he went for one of the local hotels, he avoided high profile ones so that his presence won’t be noticed, he just wanted to have a good time and forget.
Hawaii, the last time he was here, he had a wife and was expecting his first child, now, he was a lonely man, life did have a nice way of messing with him, and he was damn well tired of it, he wasn’t going to play by the hand of fate anymore, he was the alpha of his own life, fate be damn.
He was having such a good time in Hawaii despite being alone, he went
sailing in Nãpali coast and did a little bit of snorkeling too, he was having such a great time in Hawaii forgetting all the ill events of the past year until a knock on his door ruined that too.
He opened the door to the hotel he had been staying in and regretted it almost immediately.
“Josie? What are you doing here?”
He asked, he hadn’t told anyone he was coming to Hawaii, okay except Caleb and he was sure Caleb didn’t tell her, so how did she find her way here? After she left his house the other day, he hasn’t seen or heard from her and he didn’t bother because he liked it like that.
“Hi, I saw that you were vacationing here and decided to stop by,”
“What?”
“Can I come in?”
She asked already making her way in, he didn’t want to talk to her by the door so he met her in.
“Why are you here Josie and how did you know I was here?”
He asked not liking her being here one bit.
“Forget about how I knew, I came to apologize,”
“For what Josie? I don’t need your apology,”
“But still I needed to apologize, I am sorry I was acting out, I promise that I have changed, please take me back,”
“Take you back?”
“Yes, I want us to be together again,”
“Josie, I told you before already, I can’t do this,”
“Rafael, I am sorry, I didn’t mean to be possessive, I just, I am sorry okay, we can work things out,”
“I have no intentions of working things out with you Josie, there is nothing to work out, I thought you could be my friend at least but this, this makes it even worst, showing up here without notifying me, I didn’t even tell you I was coming here, or anyone for that matter, this feels like stalking, no it’s stalking because how else will you know I am here if you weren’t stalking me, and don’t dare talk about it being a coincidence, because you are supposed to be in California, last you told me,”
He said. he wanted her gone from his sight, he suddenly hated her presence, were before he liked her company.
“Is this because of her? Because you can’t get over her? I told you I can wait,”
“I don’t want you to wait, I told you that before, I don’t know why you are being so hard-headed about it Josie, I thought I could do it, I thought you can be the woman for me, but I was wrong and I told you so and apologized for making you feel that way, so I don’t get why you are still doing this, it’s not healthy,”
Rafael said wishing she would just take a hint and leave him alone, all the respect and admiration he had for her when they newly met were slowly fading away, and it was all because of how she was acting.
“I knew it, I knew I shouldn’t have trusted her words when she said she will stay away,”
“What? Did you meet with Nicole? When? Why? And you told her to stay away from me? God Josie? You are sick,”
Rafael yelled at her.
“She promised me that she didn’t have anything to do with you, she was lying, you guys have been sleeping together again right? You guys have slept together after that night right? I knew I shouldn’t have trusted her,”
Rafael couldn’t even understand what she was going on about, Nicole and him already broke up long before he met Josie and they haven’t even been in the same space since he and Josie got closed so what is she saying.
