“See, he just hates me,”
She cried.
“Nah, I am sure he doesn’t,”
“I shouldn’t even be crying over him, now my make-up is ruined and I still have to go say goodbye to the guests,”
Nicole said getting up to look at her face in the mirror, just as she feared, her make-up was ruined to the point of no repair, she decided to wipe it all off and go say goodbye to the guest with her bare face.
It took quite a while before the last of the guest left after the ceremony ended and she stayed till everyone had left, she wasn’t alone Grace, Natalie and Aron stayed with her, and when the last of the guest left, she bid the staff who already started working goodnight and turned to her sister and friends.
“Thank you, Aron, you were so much help,”
“It’s nothing really, I am glad I can help,”
He replied, the more she got to know Aron, the more she couldn’t find reasons to doubt his loyalty, he is kind of controlling but that was it, in all he was a nice guy, not just her kind of guy.
“Grace, you too, thank you so much, twinnie, I love you so much, I love you guys,”
She said hugging each one of them, they hugged her too and told her they loved her, then they got in the car, just her and the girls, Aron left in his own car, when she got home she took a shower a laid down on her bed, she was really tired and stressed out but it was over, the day had gone by in a good way, it had almost been perfect if only a certain person had shown up, it would have even been better.

Nicole woke up sick on New year’s Eve, she threw up as soon as she woke up and had to go back to lay down to calm her head, she was fine the previous evening and didn’t know why she suddenly felt sick, she decided to spend the whole morning in bed since she didn’t have anything to do today, she tried going back to sleep but then she felt like throwing up again, Grace left to go see her parents and spend the remaining holiday with them, so it was just her, Natalie and her parents.
“Not a good way to end the year,”
She whispered as she lay on the bed again.
“Do you have plans of waking up today?”
Natalie asked, walking into her room just when she was about to fall asleep.
“I don’t think so, I have been awake but I can’t move my body,”
She said trying to stretch, but her whole body ached.
“Are you okay?”
Natalie asked coming close to her, bad idea, the smell of her body spray got into her nose and Bam, she hurriedly got up and ran to the restroom to throw up for the thirds time, this time there was nothing left in her stomach, and it was mostly saliva that came out.
“Hey, what happened?”
Natalie asked, coming to meet her and patting her back and she threw out her gust.
“I feel light-headed,”
She said getting up and flushing the toilet.
“Why didn’t you say you were sick?”
“That’s because I didn’t know, I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was throw up, I wasn’t sick last night though, it just started this morning,”
“Oh, should I call the doctor?”
“Huh, no, there is no need for that, I am fine, I just need to rest, I think my body is tired.”
“A tired body won’t make you throw up, could it be that you are pregnant?”
Natalie asked, covering her mouth, Nicole walked to the room and laid on the bed. She knew that wasn’t the case, she couldn’t get pregnant according to the doctors, so it wasn’t pregnancy.
“It can’t be Natalie,”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am sure,”
“I think you should check because throwing up in the morning is a major symptom of pregnancy,”
“Tish, I am not pregnant, it could be due to what I ate, I can’t get pregnant,”
Nicole said. she hasn’t told her sister that, not even her parents knew she might not be able to get pregnant, she didn’t want Natalie to start feeling guilty all over again.
“What do you mean you can’t get pregnant? You were pregnant before or do you mean you haven’t been sexually active?”
“I was, one time, last month, no, early this month,”
“With who? Aron? Sorry that I am asking,”
“No, not Aron, he is just a friend,”
“Aha, thank God,”
“Why do you say that?”
“I just don’t like him for you, don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to tell you what to do but I don’t think you should consider dating Aron,”
Natalie said. she was the second person after Grace that didn’t like Aron, she just didn’t get why, he was an okay guy, agreed that he can be very pushy sometimes and tried to get her to agree to things she didn’t like but aside from that, he was okay.
“You don’t like Aron too?”
“Yeah, he doesn’t give the right vibes,”
“He is okay, you guys just have something against him and I don’t know why but don’t worry I don’t have any plans of having anything to do with him or any man right now,”
Nicole replied covering herself, she felt cold.
“Well, his vibes are off, and you just don’t see it and he has a thing for you,”
“I know that, and I also know he gets easily misunderstood, he is a really nice guy,”
“Whatever, get off the bed, it’s too early to be lazy, it’s the last day of the year, you have to be active,”
“I am not lady, I am sick, now leave me alone let me sleep,”
She said and covered herself all the way, Natalie laughed at her and left, she lay there in silence hoping her sickness would go away, she didn’t want to enter the new year sick.
