Rafael almost threw up reliving that moment, he just couldn’t get it over her head, he had left before he saw something he didn’t want to see, Nicole kissing another man, even the thought of it was enough to make him wanna hit a wall, he knew it has happened, he shouldn’t be feeling down about it, he almost left but had told his driver to stop again which had been his mistake, he hated it, hated that Nicole was doing fine without him, hated that he felt jealous, he pulled his clothes letting them fall along the part to his room.
He took a bath to relax himself but it didn’t work, he was just too worked up for a single bath to help his course, he went down to the living room and got out his laptop to try and get some work down but all he could see was the image of Nicole standing there while that fucked assed idiot was going in for a kiss, she should have pulled away, their divorce wasn’t even up to two months yet, how could she move on so easily, he was the one that asked for a divorce and she didn’t want it before yet, here he was still missing her while she was already moving onto another man.
“Just stop sucking, that’s what you asked for,”
The voice in his head mocked, yeah, he deserved to be mocked.
“You know being alone is not good for you,”
The voice said again, yes, he was alone, and was far from people, he recently got this house and it was nice and smaller than any other houses he owned, he decided he didn’t want to be alone tonight and called Caleb, funny how Nicole was the reason he still had a relationship with Caleb, he wondered what it would have been like if he didn’t at least have Caleb as a friend, it would have been hell, Caleb had been his drinking buddy, his talk buddy and altogether a mood, he was happy he fixed things with him when Nicole had told him to, glad that he listened to her and did not shout his only friend out, if not he would have been alone for real.
“Hey, man, could you come over to my house? Buy some beer on your way and chicken too,”
He said as Caleb picked up.
“Wow, calm down dude, one at a time, I don’t even know the address to your new house, except you are at the penthouse which can’t be the case since you are asking me to get some beer,”
“Yeah, I am at the new house and need some company, you are spending the night here so better get someone clothes if you have to turn in for work tomorrow,”
He ordered.
“Oh, my gosh, is it finally going to be our first night together? Oh God, I wanted so long for this, I will be there soon baby,”
Caleb responded in a weird voice that was both amusing and annoying.
“Are you crazy? What are you thinking?”
“Exactly what you are thinking, I am on my way to keep you company, baby,”
“Okay, that’s it, stay at your house, don’t come here,”
Rafael said the dude was crazy.
“Shut up, man, you need my company, just text your address and I will be there in twenty minutes,”
Caleb responded, Rafael really needed someone to talk to so after he ended the call he texted his address to Caleb and exactly twenty minutes later the dude rang his doorbell, man was fucking time conscious.
“What’s up, man? This one you called me to here, are you alright? What happened that you need my company?”
Caleb asked as he entered his house bearing the beers and chicken he asked him to get, he understood the assignment.
“Do I need a reason to invite you over? Does something have to happen before I can ask you to keep me company?”
“Not really but this is rare and I must say since you moved here this is the first time I am coming over, is this like a house opening party because we need to have more guests for it to be more fun,”
“Shut up Caleb and just sit down,”
“Don’t order me, I don’t work for you, out of context, this house is very small, what were you thinking getting this when you have hotels and mansions all over town?”
Caleb asked, Rafael collected the beer from him and opened one can, and downed it at a go, he hasn’t been thinking much when he got to the house, he saw it, liked it because it looked small and just the size for a one-man, and he got it, and there were other benefits of having this house, one, no one knew he lived here, except Caleb of course, two, he was surrounded by lands and properties he wanted to and hoped to acquire soon, he just needed to get out of this emotional drought he was in, he had plans but he just didn’t have enough motivations, he didn’t have a completion either, he was well above his peers and even people older than him, his only completion right now was himself, that didn’t motivate him.
“I saw Nicole today,”
He let out before he could stop himself, he was learning how to not keep things from Caleb and so far telling him things helped.
“Oh, wow that’s cool, divorce doesn’t mean you guys can’t meet up and be friends,”
He replied, Rafael realized he got him wrong.
“No, not that kind of meet up, my car drove past where she was, she didn’t see me,”
He corrected.
“Oh, then why didn’t you say hello? It’s not like you guys are fighting,”
“Yeah, but I couldn’t, she was with someone,”
“Wow, so soon? She is fast,”
Caleb said exactly what he had thought but he didn’t have a right to question her moving her like that, he was the one that asked for them to be separated.
