Rafael let out a worried breath hoping that nothing bad had happened.
“Which hospital are you in?”
He gave the direction, it was the same hospital that Nicole goes for antenatal, Rafael turned the car for a second time and drove straight to the hospital, he met Natalie in the hallway, she was looking scared and out of it, he hadn’t expected to see her here, and automatically, he sensed she had something to do with Nicole being at the hospital.
“Natalie? What happened? What did you do? Where is my wife?”
He asked, walking up to her, she looked even more scared when he got close to her.
“Rafael, Rafael, it’s Nicole, she is not doing fine, there was so much blood,”
She said crying, he looked at her and saw she had blood on her, his wife’s blood.
“Where is my wife Natalie? What happened?”
He asked, scared for his woman and their child.
“I didn’t do anything, we had a misunderstanding, and things happened and she fell from the stairs, I didn’t do anything to her believe me, please,”
She pleaded, her hands shaking, he didn’t believe her, why did Nicole go there? He told her not to go near her sister.
“Natalie, listen to me and listen real good, I don’t want to see you twice in this hospital, and better pray nothing happens to my wife or our baby, if anything happens to them, I won’t let it slide, I will make you pay,”
Rafael threatened with all sincerity, he would do more harm if anything happened to his family, he turned to his bodyguard and told them to make sure he didn’t see her again, they lead her out of the hospital before while heat waiting for the doctors to be done with what they were doing, he prayed from his heart that nothing happens to his wife and child, he couldn’t stand losing anyone he loves again.
He waited for more than thirty minutes before the doctors came out.
“You are the patient’s husband?”
“Yes, I am, where is my wife?”
He asked.
“Let’s talk in my office,”
He wanted to shout at the doctor that he didn’t need to be in his office, all he needed was his wife but he didn’t do that instead he followed the doctor, all the while praying that everything was fine.
“Doctor? How are my wife and our baby?”
Rafael asked as soon as they entered the doctor’s office, he has never been so nervous in his entire life, his hands were shaking and the doctor’s expression didn’t help his cause.
“Your wife is fine, even though she is currently sleeping, but your baby, I am sorry but the impact of the fall was too much on the little one and she hadn’t made it, I am sorry Mr. Salvador, we tried our best but we had a twenty/eighty chance and took it but the baby was much too young to make it,”
“What? That’s not true, please doctor, tell me you are lying,”
He pleaded.
“I am sorry, but I am not, the child was still in the early stage and the fall had led to its protective walls breaking and without that, the fetus couldn’t survive, I am sorry to break the sad news to you,”
The doctor revealed and Rafael felt his world closing in, he lost his baby, list his Ray of sunlight, his future, his world automatically became void of light and he found himself being consumed by the darkness that remained, all he could think about was that he warned her, he warned her not to go close to her sister but she didn’t listen to him, it was her fault, it was her fault for not listening to him and going ahead to confront Natalie, just when everything was dying down and when he thought they could finally be happy again, when everyone was gradually seeing through Natalie victim card, then Nicole had to be the one to ruin that by going to see the bitch, that fucked up human, he won’t let her be, no, she will pay for killing his child.
“What about my wife?”
He asked, he needed to know that Nicole would be fine.
“Like I said she is fine for now, we will see when she wakes up, although, due to how much impact the fall made, there might be the possibility of her not being able to get pregnant natural again,”
The doctor revealed, everything was just too much for him to process, he stood up, left the doctor’s office, and walked in a daze to Nicole’s room, she was laying so still and pale on the hospital bed, with an oxygen mask over her house, and mouth, the sight was too horrible for him, she looked so pale, for the first time in a long time, since he couldn’t remember, he felt tears gather in his eyes, they just lost their baby as if that is not enough she isn’t waking up.
“Nicole, why didn’t you listen to me? Why did you have to go there? I was fixing this, I told you I will, all you had to do was trust me but you choose not to, I am sorry but I am not going to let this slide, I am not going to let the person who killed my baby wall freely, no,”
He said, getting up from the sit and heading out of her room, he brought out his phone and called his legal team, he was going to get Natalie arrested, she has to pay for what she did, she did it with intentions, pushed her sister down the stairs killing his unborn child.
“I want Natalie Evans arrested,”
He said into the phone, he wasn’t going to let her get away, no one can take what he’s without facing the consequences.
“Okay, sir,”
His chief security said, he hung up immediately and called the commissioner of Police, he wasn’t going to let her parents bail her, he knew they would pull strings but he would fight it and get justice for his baby who never got the chance to meet him or it mom, whose life was caught off even before it began because of the wickedness and selfish of one woman…
