Rafael walked in on his wife crying again and this wasn’t the first time, it was becoming a norm that he didn’t like at all, he rushed to her side.
“Hey, love,”
“Rafael,”
“What? What happened?
“Rafael,”
She was crying so much now, Rafael still didn’t know what happened that would make her cry so hard and he was already sure he wouldn’t like it and already knew it might have something to do with her twin.
“Baby, what’s going on?”
“It’s Nat, she told them,”
“Told who? What did she tell them?”
“Natalie, she called me and told me she just had an interview with one of the news agencies and that she told them everything and that they are going to release it,”
She cried, okay that wasn’t what he had expected her to say at all, why would her twin do such a thing to her, he didn’t even think Natalie could do such to her sister and why was she doing it, to begin with.
“Why is Natalie doing all of these, what does she hope to gain? What does she want from you?”
“You, Rafael, she wants you back, she says you belong to her,”
“I don’t belong to her, what’s she saying?”
He questioned, there was no way he is the reason the sisters were having this fight, he didn’t like the idea one bit.
“That’s the truth, she said I stole you away from her and she wants you back, that I stole her life,”
“But that’s not true,”
“That’s what Natalie thinks and she is going to ruin my life if I don’t give you back, those were her words,”
She said crying even harder, this was too much, Natalie was going too far trying to hurt her twin, he needed to speak with her make her come back to her senses that until Nicole came into the picture, he hadn’t belonged to anyone but himself, right now it was Nicole who owned him and he didn’t want to be owned by someone else.
“Stop crying baby girl, everything is going to be fine, we are in this together, remember? We are a team and we will do this together, no one is going to take you away from me and I won’t let anyone take me away, I am not a kid, I know what I want, Natalie can’t make you do things, okay? I don’t want you to doubt my love for you or yourself, is that clear?”
He asked, wiping her eyes.
“Yes, I don’t doubt your love for me Raef, no, never, I have never once doubted it because it’s so obvious and I have no intentions of giving you up whatever my sister does, I am not giving up my happiness for anything, I love you and I am going to hold on to you forever,”
“Good,”
He said happy to hear her words and he was going to make sure Natalie stopped harassing her, later that night while she was asleep, he picked up her phone, went downstairs, and called her sister, as he expected, she didn’t pick up so he called her with his own phone, and she picked up.
“Hey, Rafael,”
“Don’t you dare hey me, we aren’t on talking terms, not since you decided to make it your hobby to make my wife cry,”
He warned.
“What is it?”
“Can we meet up tomorrow? At the Ravens? You know where that is right? Let’s talk, I have a lot of things to say to you, so meet me there by let’s say ten am tomorrow,”
He said and hung up without waiting for her reply, if she doesn’t show up, then he would meet up with her, he went back to his wife, she looked so peaceful and calm while sleeping, he laid next to her and held her, she moved closer to him, nestling close, he placed a kiss on the forehead.
“I love you Nicole and I won’t let anyone make you sad, not even me,”
He whispered to her, hugging her closer…
Rafael looked at the woman sitting opposite him, she looked everything like his wife but yet nothing like her, looking at her, he knew there was no way he would have fallen for Natalie, no he wasn’t being discriminative against her but he just knew his heart would not have fallen for the woman in front of him.
“Why are you looking at me like that? What you are confused about? You are trying to figure out which twin I am?”
“No, why will I try to do that, I know my wife, okay? And you are not her and will never be her, just letting you know that,”
“Rafael, you must be blind them, because legally, I am your wife, you married an Natalie Evans, not an Nicole Evans,”
“That’s what you think? Well think again because my marriage certificate says otherwise, I am married to Mrs. Nicole Salvador,”
“What did you do?”
“What do you think I did?”
He asked, the lady had the nerve to think he would just let her ride on his wife, he wasn’t going to have that, he already had his lawyer go through the necessary process of the name change, he knew it won’t be easy with the public and Natalie’s currently behavior won’t help either but he was determined to keep his wife off the chopping box as much as possible.
“You asked to see me? What do you want as I assume by how you are talking this is not what I want it to be,”
“I want you to fuck off and leave my wife alone, she hasn’t done anything to you, don’t fucking make her cry, it’s not her fault, don’t come blaming an innocent woman for your own mistakes,”
He warned.
“What? Innocent woman? How stupid are you to think Nicole is innocent? Don’t you think you are being a fool right now? How can you happily live with a woman who you know is your wife? That’s st***”
“She is my wife!”
He replied cutting her off.
“Well, not in real terms, don’t lie about having done the needed paper works, you will have to go public with that for it to be valid, you have a lot of audience Rafael, how do you think they will take it if they find out you were played for a fool which indirectly makes them a victim of being played too.”
“Bold of you to think I need any public validation, bold of you to assume that whatever you are scheming might work, are you forgetting who I am Natalie? Should I remind you? I have never asked for public validation, I will never do especially not when it involves my private life, I am here to warn you not to do anything that will cause my wife pain or you will not like how this will turn out for you,”
He warned.
“You are threatening me? You should be apologizing and begging for my forgiveness, you both should be on your knees asking for forgiveness, you think threatening me will stop me from getting what I want? Then you think again because I intend to get what I want and I will get it, not you nor Nicole or my parents can stop me,”
“I am not stopping you woman, just don’t make my wife sad, that’s when I will get mad,”
